- We're excited to announce that MegaHobby.com is doing an exclusive special run of the Revell Gemini Space Capsule. Though the tooling goes back to the 1960s, it has since been cleaned and fine-tuned to ensure a much higher quality than the original mold. We are bring back this popular kit as an homage to the upcoming 60th anniversary of Project Gemini, first launched in 1964.
Project Gemini was the middle stage of the USA space program in our race to the moon. It came between the Mercury and Apollo programs. Through these three programs, we gained valuable experience necessary to reach the moon. The most notable o f these was the EVA of "Space Walk" to see if man could survive in space. There were a total of 12 Gemini missions between 1964 and 1966. They were all launched aboard the Titan II, which was actually a U.S. Air Force ICBM missile. The Gemini missions provided information on human endurance, the ability to dock with other vehicles and to perfect the re-entry procedure. All of these were needed to make it to the moon.
This kit is about 10 inches long when completed. It is comprised of 93 parts, molded in grey and clear parts. It comes with waterslide decals, a detailed interior of the command module, two seated astronaut figures, an opening entry hatch, an equipment module, and a display stand.

I had this back in the 1960s when I was in the single digits. My parents (both artists) built it and painted it for me while I was hospitalized. When I came home, this was waiting for me, beautifully done. Unfortunately, it became a victim to time. Since I was a teenager I've wanted to replace the kit. My folks are no longer with me, but I'm thrilled to be able to buy it (finally!) after so many decades.

I remember I built three of these Gemini's when they came out in the early 60's.
Greetings from Russia! A great model. At my home in St. Petersburg, a piece of the great history of US space exploration is carefully preserved. These are letters and autographed photographs sent to me from American space pioneers John Glenn, John Young and Neil Armstrong in the mid-90s. Eternal memory to them. Good luck!
I built this many years ago, a great kit. It got moved around and damaged and eventually lost. So hope this will be available here in the UK.

My local hobby shop had the original on display for years. He wouldnt sell it. They're out of business now after 40+ years. We just got a hobby lobby so i can atleast still pick things up locally. Bothers me to see all the mom and pop hobby stores gone. Atleast in Vermont. Also not one army navy store left here. Anyway, Gemini is my favorite NASA program, and now that I know this model is out I have to get it!

Airfix did hat with their 1/144 Apollo Saturn V space craft,you built that in sections back in 1970,the kit is only two years younger than me 😂😂😂
