      That and also because maintaining any old or historical building is expensive. These days buying a new house is cheaper than keeping an old one

All of those abandon traditional house is authentic without any modern design. Thats why mat kilau shooting there and not in east coast

    The Keris is actually like an Identity Card in the old days. A keris can tell alot about you. Some keris or kerambit are made from a very poisonus material such as wood / monkey bones. Not sure what monkey but it is very poisonus and can cause fatal. Other than keris, tengkolok / tanjak, a traditional headwear usually worn by the royalties, it can also tell the ranking of the Sultan / King. Traditional fabrics can also tell alot back in the days. As a Malaysian, i am always a big fan of cultures and traditions. I am still learning. Hopefully someone can corect me if am wrong.

    Chengal tropical hard wood from Malaysia is highly in demand worldwide due to its great properties. But there are less exports from Malaysia now due to the ban on cutting of these trees. This has led to the price of this wood skyrocketing.

      Because maintainance cost for today Woodhouse is higher than brickhouse. Those wood is not cheap wood. In malay house, you can choose which wood you want to built and each has different usage. For example jati is the most famous one but its doesn't have water resistance. So most of time jati wood only use for furniture or inner Part of the house. Meranti wood is great for fire resistance but its hard to find and malay use it on kitchen room. Cengal is the Best one for Water resistance and were use for the whole outer part of the house, cengal also has different type and for malay boat or ship, they use cengal batu which is the most hardest among all the wood.
      What makes malay traditional house unique from the rest of the world is
      1) tanggam technique or the West called as mortise
      2) each Part of the house can be portable
      3) there's panic room in northern region malay house. Its located at the top of the house under roof.

    traditional Malay house design is actually valuable for modern house architectural design in low energy/passive energy building design. i was using the concept to pass the subject "building energy design" in my Master in Civil Engineering coursework. lol. really appreciate that they keep and maintain this old traditional Malay house well. more traditional houses would be long gone in next 10-20 years.

    • @user-tt1ed6ny2d
      @user-tt1ed6ny2d 8 місяців тому +1

      @@gilgameshlfx7006 yeah. its design mostly best for detached or bungalow, a.k.a rich ppl's house. i take only the ventilation and high roof parts of traditional Malay house to implement into terrace house design. the idea is to keep the heat in roof at noon from transferring down to interior part of house. although air is an insulator, still can conduct the heat in a distance. so, either increase the distance between the roof to floor or double the ceiling layer to isolate. or create vents at soffit to let wind blowing into inner roof part to carry heat away from roof through another vent at another side's soffit

      because it used to be private land and nobody allowed to get it. But now Tan Sri Kamarul Ariffin is too old and cant manage it anymore so he allowed his son to open it as a gallery. Its still new to public. But his house are well known among Malay politician and they used to have secret meeting here since zaman Tun Razak.

      There's many abandon traditional house in perak especially in perak tengah (bota, batu gajah, Kuala kangsar, lambor). Most of those house were left since 80's to 90's. Its still standing. I would said since 2000's, most of the house that still using were modified to modern design like brickwall which destroy the purpose of the designer intended

    Ya Allah. Besarnya. 😭😭 Beruntung orang Malaysia. Kaya betul family ni ya membesar di rumah tanah sebesar ni. Tsk tsk. Cantik betul. Cuma aku takut hantu je so tak berani HAHAHAHHAHA takpa. Tapi suka tengok orang yg ber-rezeki luas macam ni. Best tengok macam sejarah2 tempat lama

      Rumah orang bangsawan/pembesar zaman dahulu. Sebenarnya punca kenapa hantu duduk sebab manusia tak duduk dalam rumah tu. Ustaz suruh pasang surah al baqarah kuat kuat, nanti hantu semua lari.
      Kalau di perak tengah, banyak rumah traditional versi rakyat sudah ditinggalkan pada tahun 80an dan 90an. Yang tahun 2000 semuanya sudah di modified tambah batu
