      The joy and passion of Pete is tremendous. The only other time I felt this kind of hope, faith, belief was during Bernie’s campaign

    Goodnight Irene (my name is Eileen) was our song when we dated. Married 65 plus years 1953-2017...so happy and sad to hear this. Thank you for the memories.💚💚

    Ich denke dass der von mir geliebte Peter Seeger bei diesem großartigen Folksong,auch die Indigene Bevölkerung damit einbezogen hat. Ich denke schon.

    Note the inscription on Pete's banjo - "This machine surrounds hate and forces it to surrender." This was clearly borrowed from Woody Guthrie's guitar, which said "This machine kills fascists." But without question, Woody's wouldn't have minded. I forget if it was Pete or Woody who said, when asked about someone copying one of their songs, "Well he only borrowed from me, but I borrowed from everybody."
    I hadn't even realized that Fred Hellerman was still alive in 2010 - how marvelous to see him and Pete together.

    Oh how wonderful! I grew up listening to the Weavers and I still have at least one of the LPs that I listened to as a kid. I've been fortunate enough to hear Pete in person twice, although once the arena was so large I could barely see him.

    What concert is this? Are these the original Weavers with their kids and grandkids?? This is so awesome!!!!

    • @mtlborn
      @mtlborn  7 років тому +8

      Glad you like it. This was a concert in Tarrytown NY. It was created for my parents' 50th wedding anniversary because they met at a Weavers Concert in 1959 in Montreal. We (our family) are friends with the Klezmatics because they come to KlezKanada every summer at a camp just outside of Montreal. Knowing them gave us the connections to hook into all sorts of connected people who helped us create this concert in honour of my parents but clearly open to the world. The video I made was pretty much all shot by me and some friends and took me 2 years to edit. It is far from professional.
