Growing Aloe Vera In Water
Вставка

- The video shows that Aloe vera can survive in water without soil and can grow roots while being soaked in water. This video might disprove the thoughts that overwatering can kill your Aloe vera. While it has been only three weeks, so I decided to continue the experiment. I will just post updates on the plants.

Same....😜
This what i learned from the video (you my friend have to watch it so you could correct me...please.)
1. The indoor aloe adapt better in water than the outdoor one.
2. After one week the outdoor aloe root is rotting, the indoor one is propagating new roots.
3. After two week both are adapting, growing new roots.
4. After 3 weeks they still look good.
Many thanks, for the lesson.
Yes, because the outdoor plant was not used to being soaked in water. When you water outdoor plants, the soil dries quickly. While the indoor plants, the soil takes more time to dry and the plants has been used to being soaked longer in wet soil.
But if am not wrong then as aloe is a succulent so i suppose it thrives better in dry condition!....is it?
Or probably because the water became too hot outside
No@@angelaonwuka1987
I was just given a pot of aloe plants that was completely unattended for probably years, and it had 14 offsprings! None of them except for the mother had roots, so I put them in water to root, this helps a lot, thank you!
It is best for the Aloe vera to root in the soil and not in the water. Soil is their natural habitat not the water. I just made this video to show that Aloe vera can survive in the water and disproving the myth that Aloe vera dies by overwatering. If the offspring of your plant has not roots, you can watch this video: ua-cam.com/video/PQ-iEHjy2Es/v-deo.html or this video: ua-cam.com/video/6ubs68eiXns/v-deo.html
@@TheAloeVeraGarden I don't think aloe vera "die of overwatering" just by itself. It dies by overwatering the medium, which leads to leaf rot (if they are in constant contact with the medium), which leads to deep rot if left untreated... and usually these people don't notice the rot, so the plant dies.
I saw that a lot at people's house... they have plants and don"t know how to handle them 😑
I use this method from years!! And always work in great way!! After 1 month's with new root's i plant's the plant in a new soil and after grove up perfect)
That's great!
Do they get bigger and grow new leaves in water?
This need sunlight as well??
@@kingmda i tried it myself, it does need sunlight and it makes new leaves in water. i have 2 aloes in water both of them didnt have roots but now they do have roots and are bigger.
@@furkandemirel2416 i can't have soil in the house (long story), but really want aloe vera plants inside my room. will they survive in water for many years or just for short time?

Nice to see this vedio 👌👌👌this is the best way to grow the Aloe vera plant😃😃😃😃😃😃

THis is so amazing because I thought that water would rot the plant?! How is this possible... so great to see this.
This is just to show that aloe vera will not die in water.

@@TheAloeVeraGardenhi dear I have some aelo so let me try it if this is successful.. is it fine?
When one of my Aloe "died" (first I completely neglected it, so it completely dried out, then I drowned it) I put it in water and it started new roots. Before it had no roots
Re-planting it in the soil after its root has grown?
@@krupadarji1891 Yes, definitely. I think it only worked, because my Aloe was really underwatered, since it hasn't had roots for several months, so it was actually in need for water
@@ms_it_is okay, thank you 😊.
Omg I am happy to see this Msj. I was a lil concerned because one of my aloe leaves came apart and I put it in water in hopes for it not to die. It does not have a root so I am crossing my fingers it grows some
When we grow aloevera in water, it will die.

Hi!💜 I have a question about on of my aloes, if you don’t mind:)
So about a week ago, one of my aloes’ leaves fell off, and I didn’t notice until two days ago. At first I was going to set it aside when I saw something near the end where it’s dried up, and it looks like a seed in it. Is this possible? I shallowly planted it to try it out, but I wasn’t sure if it could be a seed inside or if it’s just a place where it has calloused over in a strange way. Thanks!
could be an insect seed... they do look like that also...
This aleovera container garden is from how many past years??? Can you tell me plzz🤗🤗❤️
Do we need to change the water time to time ( how much ) or its not necessary ???
Yes, I guess.
I changed mine twice a month and it's been 4months I planted mine in water.
I've been watching and reading lol following you and i love your advice so I went to 3 store to buy a aloe vera plant yet they only have leaf no mother plant question what can I do with no root
I am sorry, you cannot plant Aloe vera from a leaf especially those bought in stores.
Great experiment! Thank you so much for this!
Thank you for watching 😊😊😊😊
Hello there, Mr. Scientist🤗
Maybe I can do this one👍
Yeah, like this is so difficult to do hahahaha
Keep and use Aloe. It will do you good.
Great idea 🥰 well done 😀
Thank you so much! 🤗
I planted an aloe plant about 3 weeks ago. It was a pretty big plant when I cut off the main one with about 4 inch of root and planted it in a 10L bucket filled with soil. It gets about half day direct sunlight and the leaves are yellow and drying up. Is there any way I can save this as it's the only plant I have. I'm afraid if I try anything new, I might kill it
It will take a month for little aloe vera plant to recover after planting, and about two months for bigger aloe vera. It is also normal for the leaves to dry up because the roots are not established yet. If you are placing it in direct sunlight, the leaves may turn yellow but it will be back to green once it has recovered. Just give your aloe vera enough time to recover.
So it looks like 8 months has gone by . Did it live or die ? What did you end up doing if anything ?
@@montacap It did regain its bright green colour after I removed direct sunlight, but I had to very careful with water after that.
Excellent 👌 work
Thanks a lot 😊

Nice Video👍What to change the water after a week? Plz replied!!
I replaced the water regularly because of mosquitoes breeding in it, but it would be better not to replace it if you don't have problems with mosquitoes. Mosquitoes are dangerous.
I will also give this method a try
When I put it in water how do I keep the roots from rotting

Hi. Great video. Can you put a stem with leaves in water if it doesn’t have a root system yet? I had to cut a stem off of a large aloe vera plant because the bottom half of the leaves had dried up. Or will putting them in water without roots kill them? Thanks.
Any recommendations for aloe left in snow .. I tried to save a lot but didn’t work .. roots look ok can I use your technique in British weather?
It is not recommended to grow Aloe vera in water. I just made this video to show that the plant can survive in the water disproving the myth that aloe vera dies by overwatering. It is still best to grow aloe vera in the soil. I live in a tropical climate so I don't have any experience dealing aloe vera in the snow. Somebody recommended me to do an experiment on placing aloe vera in the refrigerator but my plants are too big to be placed in the freezer portion of the ref. Anyway, I am still planning to that experiment.

I also did the same thing and also got same result
Thank you my friend. 😊😊😊😊
Will they get bigger? Is there any requirement such as fertilizer?
It depends on the aloe, but the rule of thumb from what I learned is every 6 months or every other month it really depends on your aloes specific needs (im still a new plant mom learning but this is what I learned about so far)
With getting bigger it depends on the type of aloe, some stay the same size and others grow pretty big
My aloe plant completely turned brown so can I do this process
Very nice
Which tip of aloe vera is good? Indoor aloe vera or outside aloe vera? And did u change the water regularly?
Plz........ Reply it’s needed.........
Aloe very should be placed outside with full sun. Yes, I changed the water regularly because of mosquitoes that breeds in it. If you don't have problems with mosquitoes, you don't have to change it.
@@TheAloeVeraGarden thanks😊 but u don't said which kind of aloe is good?
I want to use it for decoration. And my house is full of sunlight. 😊😊😊
Great I want to try this to save my aloe!
Is there an updated video yet??
yes, could you please update on how long they survived in water?
Thank youuuu
Do you change the water frequently? Also do you add something to the water to fertilize the aloe? I plan on doing this to my aloe but want to add rocks and sea shells I gathered from the beach
I live in a tropical country with mosquitoes, so I change the water every other day to keep the mosquitoes from breeding in the water. Dengue fever is very dangerous. But I found a way using a different bottle that mosquitoes can't get in, so I was able to add some nutrients because I seldom change the water, here's the video ua-cam.com/video/FT_B7FRmdpI/v-deo.html

Terima kasih untuk ilmu yg di ajarkan, karna saya pingin tanam lidah buaya dj kamar mandi dengan air tanpa tanah❤❤
I currently have an aloevera who isnt surviving with her current soil. Hoping this helps until i can buy a better soil for her. Thankkkss
Water is not the normal habitat of Aloe vera. If I were you, I will just plant the Aloe vera in a normal soil... a soil that you can get in your front yard or backyard, than putting it in the water.
Should we have to change the pot water in daily basis?
I changed my water every other day because i am afraid of mosquitoes breeding in it. You don't have to change the water if the container is safe from breeding mosquitoes.
Just lovely
It’s been 3 years now, can we get an update? Can aloe survive in water alone?
We can change there water everyday..???
Is this sort of setup produce better yield than the traditional setup

Can i do it also with Aloe Vera plants who almost have no roots?
Can they become new one in water?

You can even do it with aloe vera cuttings.
What did you add to the water? what kind of fertilizer
Should we change the water daily??? The container may get alage right if we keep water daily in it??

How often do you change the water?
nyimaaakkk....
Mental has haa
In how many days u have to change the water
I have a little problem with my aloe vera plant... The bottom leaves are all mushy and hanging and they're very thin which I'm sure comes from overwatering... So I let it dry out completely for a while and the new leaves at the top of the plant are healthy and beautiful... But the plant just looks horrible so I thought about propagating it... Can I cut the top part where the new leaves from off and plant it into soil or wouldn't that work? (I don't want to destroy my plant)
Can you show me a picture of your plant? You can send it to my facebook page facebook.com/thealoeveragarden/

Aloe vera is better grown in soil.
Will u change the water or same water?
Please do reply
It's okay not to change the water but it will get molds over time. In this video, I changed the water quite often because mosquitoes breed in it, not safe.
Lovely video hun; thanks for the insight! Also, is it just the roots or part of the stalk as well that you’re putting in water?!! Temporarily transferring mine over to water while I wait for larger parts et soil to arrive…thanks, 💛💛💛💕💕
What should be the ph & ppm foe aloe Vera please.
Aloe vera can grow on any type of soil. I don't measure ph and ppm, but i have tried growing them in different types of soil and medium.
Tq for your reply. I’m doing hydroponic i.e. soilless
I use leca (clay) pebbles to hold the plant. My friend said ph: 5.5 ~6.5 & 600~700 ppm is ok.
I tried & so far it’s working. Important not to expose plant to direct strong sunlight . Will hv black spots.
Does it need sunlight or we can keep it in study table where no reach if sunlight?
Place it in a well lighted area.
