- Hello and welcome to Joystick Ayrton. This video is about my experience with purchasing the GPD Win 4 6800 U on Aliexpress. I talk about the Rog Ally, the Steam deck, and the refresh GPD Win 4 coming with the new Ryzen 7840U processor from AMD.
I will have a follow up to my experiences as I continue to work with GPD on resolving the issue so stay tuned! I also have a lot more content coming with the steam deck, rog ally, benchmarks and more.

Bro while watching your video I changed the settings the one that's located on the left hand side the one that transfers from controller to mouse mode. And it solved the issue
I just bought the Win 4 7840U, coming from the win 1 so I canr wait to get my hands on this thing. The full keyboard and the form factor done it for me!

Im just waiting for the new version of the win 4 to arrive now... I think it's good to jump in now with this device now having 7840u 32/64g of ram & 2tb+ 👍😊
Probably not the right thing to do , but I do not have $210 to spend on shipping so when I got my new GPD Win3 (Years ago) and it was defective I purchased a new one from GPD on Amazon, it was from the GPD store and shipped via Amazon. Then I returned the defective one back to GPD via Amazon and got a replacement. I should mention that customer service for GPD is the one who suggested returning via Amazon.
There customer service has been nothing short of awesome, I’m gunna do an entire video on that because they put a ton of effort into helping me.
I was an early backer for the 6800U. No issues and I had it since February. No issues with start up. No issues with fps. And I have updated it with the gpd updates. Getting an Odin 2.

Yeah I should have just backed that one but the deal on the 6800u was insane. We’ll see what happens just happy there customer support is actually trying to help me
I have 4 GPD from Win 3 all the way up to WinMax and have had no issues. The only thing was that my old Win2's case broke down and I had to buy a new shell for it, but I really used it a lot.
That’s awesome, I plan on getting the win max 2 mini and hopefully the replacement for this is all good and then I can chill on spending money for awhile lol
good video these videos are important no matter which device I really want to pick up the win 4 but I’m trying a way to get with warranty to avoid something like this. I’m legit thinking about learning a little electrical engineering so I can be ready for any problems 😂
I don’t blame you lol but to GPDs credit they replaced it for me. I’m doing a video just on there customer service experience it was actually pretty good

Hi Ayrton, spotted your topic title and jokingly thought "what did I do?" 🤣 Title really got me! I was wondering if you ever got your Win4 issues resolved? I might be reviewing the latest Win4 8840U soon and I enjoy being able to find hints and fixes to help folk out. So if you have the older model I'd be happy to compare and contrast any issues with the latest model.
The first one I had was ghost touching they exchanged it for a brand new one and I had no issues after that. Should be a pretty drastic performance difference from the 6800u to the 8840 but I think everything else is the same
@@joystickayrton That was good you got it replaced. I've seen reviews mostly that the 7840U wasn't much of an upgrade over the 6800U and that the 8840U is no real upgrade other than AI over the 7840U. However there are very few Win4 8840U reviews so I'll aim to address that a bit.
Hey, I have a gpd win 4 6800u, and when I play sometimes my hands get sweaty and I might accidentally touch the screen when I play and it will move the game camera straight to the sky. Now I'm not sure if that was the case for you but it could be especially since it didn't happen as much with the screen up. Of course I wish you luck on your channel and that you get great handhelds and make great content.
Yeah I’m not sure, I did a lot of testing and the reason I went with the return was because when I reached out to them they just said hey we’ll exchange it so I wanted to jump on that lol thanks for watching
Hey, I've also had this issue, but I believe that you are hitting the trackpad on the bottom while playing, the game just sees it as a mouse input and sketches out... The same thing would happen playing on a laptop if you nudged the mouse while using a controller. I've been more cognizant of that and now it rarely happens.
I can relate with the quality control issues. My Win 4 trackpad is finnicky and the software is buggy.
Yeah I had some trouble using the software for the controls it wouldn’t always set correctly but man the form factor just has me willing to try really hard to get over any issues lol
The gamepad mouse mode glitch. Also happens on the RLG on games like Halo M CC.
Definitely caught between this, the legion go, and the one player 2 x pro

I’m have screen issues every time I plug in the charger the screen goes black everything still running & all but the screen is black any suggestions
When you unplug it does the screen come back on?

Your input in Halo froze because you accidentally touch the screen. I had that problem happen as well on my Win 4 and Steam Deck
Spot on! Actually making a follow up video about that and the customer service. Just got home from Labor Day stuff so should be up in a couple days
TJD T101 - what about that new 10" handheld on indiegogo? The price seems too good to be true. Is having your hands further apart too uncomfortable for a larger screen. I want a portable but I feel like I can't see the screen if it's too small. I dont know whats good enough. Maybe that lenovo legion go is a decent middle ground.
It really depends on what your playing. The win4 screen doesn’t bother me because your hands are so close together it doesn’t feel small. The 10inch feels way to big or id assume. The Lenovo assuming the software isn’t a nightmare 8inch screen for FPS games like competitive apex legends would be awesome. Assuming that comes to Best Buy here in the states ima give it a go. My other issue with the T101 is that company isn’t nearly as well known and have the track record of someone like GPD or AYN so if something happens what recourse do you have.
@@joystickayrton there have been more leaks on the Legion Go. A 8.8" 144hz VRR display rocks. A 49Whr battery and using it like a tablet seems a plus. It blows my mind the right joycon can be inverted as a vertical mouse for 1st person shooters. I don't know how I feel about the starting $800 price point at 16GB 256GB as it might be a base Z1 not a Z1E assuming this is a nerfed 7640U with lower 4 compute units (not 6cu or 8cu). Price climbs with the better specs as I thought windows report said up to a Z1E. No 32GB option though. The TJD T101 is a bit risky I agree but at $600 with 1TB is so damn tempting though.

If you are getting issues that typically less than 1% people be getting you got really bad luck. My mom has a similar issue. I bought 2 phones from the same store same shipment and somehow her pbones turns out to be a lemon. Tech just crumbles around and its usually not her fault
I’m fairly sure it’s all my fault and I was unnoticeably fat thumbing the screen. Have a little more testing to do but almost have it wrapped up and should have a follow up about it and the customer service experience which was exceptional considering everything
My win 4 had issues with touchscreen, but after i flashed the new bios and updated the firmware i downloaded from gpd site its gone, maybe you should try it too

I’m really considering getting the 7840u version of the win4 but man getting it and having tons of issues is having me skeptical on if it’s worth it
Just did the same deal its about $605 after taxes which is a great price you should have just returned it and got your money back now you paid 211 for the same device now you spent 816 and its no longer worth it imo
I agree 100% I just was also trying to build a relationship at the same time. I also really expected it to be more like 50 to 100 and then after shipping it they said they’d refund me part of the shipping so at least they are trying to work with me. Also idk if this is accurate but someone on Reddit claims USPS is about 50 bucks to Hong Kong from New York
Based on your comments, it seem like you would like the Aya Neo Air. Most of those UA-camrs have discord servers. I haven't experience that problem.

So I don’t have a straight review of the win4 I would recommend retro games corps or the phawx, I have a lot of insite or opinions I could give you, I’ve had the win mini 2024 for 8 months now and I just ordered a win max 2 so let me know if I can help
My wife has weird static on her hands and zaps electronics dead. Sounds like you might have same issue and need to get out of hand held devices.

You definitely had a faulty device. I've had no issues with the controller, and I've completed last of us on it and also been playing Diablo 4 and remnant 2 on it with no issues
See it’s weird in some games it’s totally fine, Elden ring, Skyrim, dark souls 3, Diablo, f1 manager, need for speed heat, madden, all work flawlessly lol so It makes me thing I’m somehow touching the screen or the trigger sensitivity is so high the rumble triggers it. But for this second one they are sending me new triggers so gonna give it a shot
Yesterday, I went to the shop to check out the Rog Ally handheld gaming device. Unfortunately, I was disappointed. The demo unit was turned on but not running any games, and it was already very hot at the back. This made me concerned that the device would be too hot to enjoy playing games on for long periods of time. As a result, I decided not to buy the Rog Ally and instead consider a legacy handheld gaming device.
That's because every display unit I've seen at best buy holds it at the top and blocks the fans. Dumbest design ever for a display,
Ltt is too busy dealing with the abuse to employees happening in his company and gamer nexus might think they are to big to respond to common folks , great video I got lucky with my steam deck no issues I like the deck because is easier for my kids to use
Looks more like faulty mouse/gamepad switch on left side of the device. Which is covered by your hands and probably can be moved a bit during play.
