I had the best experience of seeing Connie at Warwick Musical theater. In Warwick,, RI.. She is so beautiful inside and out and when she walk through the crowd she reached out and took my hand and thanked me for coming. I will always keep that memory in my heart. I still love your music. God bless you
Thank you to whomever uploaded this video. I've been looking for a clip of this episode for many, many years. Connie Francis' third partner was my father, Louis (not "Luis", as listed in the original post). I'm really grateful to finally get to see this!
Awesome show!

My Mother Loved Ms.Francis, She has a Beautiful Voice!!!! ❤️
wow, must have been awesome to see your father on this!
My friend, Carol, whom I've known through work since 1993, continues to be a super intelligent person, and also a wonderful writer (the BEST), and a kind and supportive person. What a joy to see you, Carol, as a young child. In certain key respects, I'm sure you haven't changed very much since then🪐!
How awesome!!
I just love Connie Francis! Seeing her in this unexpected video was a real treat!!
Delightful to see Connie Francis here.
She is very smart
Connie Francis is one of my favorite singers
Wow. Connie was a boss at this. She made it look so effortless too. Smart cookie.
Impressed.
🌺 She was wonderful ! I had never seen her much on a program !! 🦚
Connie did a great job!! Now if the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame would just induct her!!!
Hi dear🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹
Thanks for your love and support that has brought me this far, it has been a hard time for me going through this but your love and support keeps me going and standing strong in this difficult times. And they SHOULD!!!....she was my favorite as a kid growing up....also her Italian recordings were a staple on our house!!!
It's kind of ironic that she hasn't been introducted yet because she didn't ONLY make rock, but now Dolly Parton made it in there without a SINGLE rock song. Shit’s getting ridiculous.
@@M08J0
Amen.
@@M08J0 *inducted yet 🙂
Love You Connie, you Ace everything you do.
If you watch enough of these shows, have you ever noticed that they re-use the words quite often?
INCREDIBLY often. I'd you watch every night for two years, you've just about got all the words they'll ever use.
Yes, indeed! This is at least the third time I've seen "dunk" as one of the words.
Dr Reason A. Goodwin's union contract limited the number of words he was required to supervise. No?
yes they do .😎😎😎
No.
I read many of the commenters state how good Ms. Francis was at this game . Then I read that she was Salutatorian in her high school . That shows that she was intelligent and disciplined . She reminds me of the young girl who played John Travolta's young sister in Saturday Night Fever . She was loved and respected by all in that family .

She also had a scholarship to NYU for pre-med.
Well, Connie would have known not to capitalize "salutatorian."
Connie had such a sweet unique voice.
Her voice was shrill at times when she spoke, not always soft
It is so refreshing to see women dressed so feminine and respectful and have manners and charm and dignity and sophistication
Do you like them meek and obedient as well?
@@nelsonricardo3729 meek means gentle. Obedient to those in authority over them ,yes. Its biblical. And the way these ladies are beats the daylights out of how loose and trashy the so called stars of nowadays act. No dignity and no respect for themselves and cheap.
@@RepentfollowJesus Think it's any different with men these days as weel or less worse with them?
I love the expression on the little boy's face when told he'll be receiving a 20-volume set of the The Word Book Encyclopedia. (It's about at the 15:10 mark).
Me too! thanks for commenting :)
Yes I noticed that, classic!
Oh he was in for the monehhhh lol
This is such a great clip! Darren McGavin was quite naturally funny.
in the outtakes.....Alan Ludden becomes a vampire and Kolchak turns around and says "the password is Wooden Stake" and kills him
Darren McGavin before he was Ralphie's daddy in A Christmas Story. He made that character, which made the movie become an iconic classic today.
Actually that would be Jean Shepherd. Not to say Darren McGavin wasn't good in it.
@@lynnturman8157 Yes Darren McGavin was the dad in the film. Jean Shepherd makes an appearance in the mall when Ralphie goes to see Santa.
Beautiful Connie
my CONNIE can do anything - I love this lady!🤩😍
FANTASTICA CONNIE 😘👍
OMG, the lightning round at 14:06 ?? one of the best I've ever seen on the show (adults don't usually do that well)!! It was like watching a symphony or something - wonderful!
voicetube - I was really impressed with how intelligent both Connie and that little girl were. They were flawless!
@@XXthekingofyouXX Agreed; pretty amazing!
🐩 Dare I say AMAZING !! The word that tricked them !! Blessings from California. 🎩
Connie is just soooo cute. Leeann rimes did a great job portraying connie.. I forgot the movie.
TV show...American Dreams.
I had no idea Connie was on Password
Connie is a very good player.
so was that kid!
Way to go Connie!! Good player
One of the very best!
I love to see children playing the game so well.
Loved seeing the kids play and how they split their winnings with their school libraries! Great cause!
For "Focus" I was thinking "Clarify" (which may have worked for a first clue but most certainly for a second - At least that's what I think as an armchair Password quarterback in the 21st century LOL)
Darren McGavin was so lovely. Entertaining and friendly to the contestants.
The little boy was adorable!
Love her hair style. Thanks to spray lacquer and backcombing. She is so pretty. Great sultry, smoky voice.
My older sister always wore a flip hairdo ! And I so remember the little velvet bows that would be on a bobby-pin ! 🌺
I was actually wondering if there was something under there to give it that perfect shape🤔
Yes, she really did New Jersey proud with her hairdo
@@waldolydecker8118 .....I'm from So. Calif so I can only assume your right as far as hairstyles go. Signed......Laura H.😉
She's not actually pretty, which isn't a demerit on her character.
The children were marvelous!
Thank you great stress reliever!
Darren was my first crush. ❤❤
I'm watching this 60 years to the week that it first aired, Nov. 5, 2022.
Poor ole Darren - and anybody who got paired with him. Dude just wasn’t cut out for this game.
Darren McGavin was so handsome

She also was not "miffed" at playing with a 10yo ....of you had taken the time to watch the whole video she was quite impressed with the young girl's intelligence!!!
Love You Connie ❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤
the little boy seemed about as excited to get the world book encyclopedia set as a prize as he would be to get a tooth drilled
But...it would come in very handy in the years to come!! Those children are now pushing 70...
@@janeiwasduncan8463 - the little boy probably has "pushed" more than 70 over his years. If McGavin goofed up just one more word, I was afraid for his safety.
Connie is filming an "Aqua Net" commercial after the show! 👧
Amazing...grace
The look on the little boy's face at 10:23 is priceless!
Connie is intelligent.

What a beautiful lady yesterday and today❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤😅
Gary has a great facial expression.
The woman of this time were so beautiful, no piercing no tattoos no brandings etc...
...when women were women and men were men...
Thank God for none of those evil pierced ears...
Darren was not too good
Also they didn't wear too tight pants and leggings and knew how to dress for their shape. It's embarrassing to see what some women will wear in public now.
Watching this on my phone while Kolchak is on my TV
The Best Female Singer And Dusty Springfield ❤❤❤❤❤We Miss You dusty ❤❤❤❤
I was surprised to see connie presenting her book for every young heart because it says in her biography among my souvenirs that shd never heard of it. Also delighted to see that it's real after all because i bought a copy of it!
It does not say that.
Darren seems like a nice guy!
I was thinking for a first clue on "Focus," possibly "Clarify."
Think this is better than the later Passwords.
Love Darrin, such a good actor. I him in a western once with Auty Murphey. And he was very goid. Abd lived his tv show, koljack.
Connie was very intelligent....so stop knocking her .....
Gary was so fun to watch. What an expressive face!
Fun watching Mr. McGavin think!
The little boy (Gary) was not too thrilled about playing the game with Darren. Gary had some hilarious expressions.
Those kids were smart!
I've never seen anyone get "infantry." And I've watched dozens of Password shows.🤷♀️
Connie looks pissed-off that she has to play with a kid, and Darren at 40 still looks like a cutie-pie young boy!!!
Whenever I see Darren McGavin, I immediately think Night Stalker...
Loved that show !! Blessings from California. 🦇
I think of Kim Novak
This is the first episode of the new rule one game per visit. This was 21 years before Darren McGavin became Peter Billingsley's father in A Christmas Story.
Shell Oil was a Password sponsor. Gasoline back in 1962 was $0.31/gallon.
...and a gas station attendant pumped your gas for you, washed your windshield and checked your oil.
When I was a child in the 50s and 60s, my dad would drive 3 miles away to a gas station that sold gas for a penny or two less per gallon than the gas station closest to our house! A penny meant so much more in those days!
@@genemars5158 and tires. And got paid practically nothing.
Hmmmm... When they disallowed "Goodbye" that was the first time since binge-watching this on UA-cam I have disagreed with "the doctor."… I looked it up just now on dictionary.com and it CAN be hyphenated, but that is a second alternative to the main definition indeed, indicating it as a single word!
voicetube, back then, good-bye was always hyphenated.
Good job Carol.
How many people want to bet that at 10:51 Darren McGavin was thinking "Playboy……" :-) LOL!
Connie Francis is pretty darn cute!!!!
Because it’s a fun game, we will take half the earnings and just give them away to someone else!!
I was like , what about their college fund ? 🌺
Connie Francis is still alive 🙂
"It's amazing that you didn't get the word" :D :D :D clever

Another Great Female Singer Was Olivia Newton-John..We Miss You ❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤
10:50 We know exactly which magazine he was thinking of.😂
In the lightning round for "nickel" could have said coin and when he said "penny" he she could have simply said "higher." Alternatives could be saying "Buffalooooo" or "Woodennnnn"
Seemed to me that "five" would have easily done the job after "coin". Connie shouldn't have given up so soon.
@@RobinRice1 Hadn't thought of the number - pretty good (as coinage does seem to often come up in the lightning round)! Come to think of it, I don't know if I've ever heard a clue spoken as a number indicating the coinage - as I say that's a pretty good one, Robin :-)
@@voicetube A password I've heard often is "quarter" and, of course, "coin" and then "'twenty-five" would bring that dastardly buzzer -- except in Lightning Round could probably get away with it. 😀
I thought five was a good clue myself ! It seems like Allan should have let them decide for themselves to skip one or not ! 🦉
6:35 Younger viewers may not remember the hyphen. It used to be taught in schools, but orthography changes with usage, and English today has nearly abandoned the hyphen. "Good-bye" always had a hyphen -- always -- because it is a compound word (God-be-with-ye.) Compound adjectives (rose-tinted) also require the hyphen. (I'll add, as long as I'm editing, that the World Book Encyclopedia, in those days (and even today) cost a pretty penny. The boy's prize was worth a lot more than 250 dollars. A strange reversal -- maybe the girl should have been given the Encyclopedia for having shown such skill in playing the game (just saying.)
Though tinkle didn't mean you know what, I'm still surprised it got past the CBS sensors.
No-one goes home empty-handed? Well, that doesn't happen anymore!
Poor Darren McGavin… Connie Francis and those children turned him into a chicken dinner!!! 😂😂😂
I was thinking for "Coconut" maybe something like "tree" then "Hawaiian"… And if that didn't do it "round" and then if you had to add milk after that…
I rarely call out the judges on this game, but I looked up "goodbye" in both Miriam Webster's AND Cambridge dictionary (!) and they both indicate no hyphens at all for that word.
Also, watch this: I'm using speech to text to make this comment and of course here is "… Goodbye" now check this out: "Cross-check" (what happened there is my grammar checker underlined the word and instructed that I add the hyphen - and that did not occur with "goodbye"). Maybe back then it was hyphenated? But I wouldn't be surprised if that's 1 of the rare times that the good doctor was wrong.
Ambiant Relaxing and Healing Music, I have never in my 69 years seen "goodbye" hyphenated.
Yes, the judge misjudged.
Merriam -Webster gives good-bye as a variant, and I'm sure it was more common in the past.
@@nelsonricardo3729 Good point; the details of our language have changed a little bit here and there :-)
She clearly said it as 2 words.
@@sharksport01OK; that could have been the issue, I suppose.
I don't know any of connies music, except for a tune called lipstick on your collar, as for Mr mcgavin I remember him mostly from the night stalker series several years removed from this show. After all that stumbling trying to figure out amazing I'd use the word absolutely because they go together like peas and carrots
I would have said the word grace.
🧛♂️ I loved him in Night Stalker and also the other actor. Can’t remember his name. 🦇
And it is Halloween !!! I have only had three trick or treaters !! 🦹🏻
@@robertward8130 yes absolutely, that's even better than mine
@@marycook1644 up here in the Northeast where I live the commie city council had restricted trick or treating for the last two years because of the INVISIBLE boogie man
Ive watched this show for a while and I see they use the same words many times. Bait, nickel,
Hoping one of the words was going to be 'fragile" for Darren McGavin but at least he was given the word "rifle"
gary so cute!
Apparently, ten year-olds were a lot smarter before schools started dumbing them down.
She could have gotten nickel with 5 or larger or silver. It should have been guessed--- not a hard word. They should let them go back to the words they skip if time. She had lots of time left.
Someone should have said Grace for Amazing
I like that they play with kids. Do they do that periodically?
There's a great episode with Lucy, husband Gary Morton (also stepfather to her kids) playing the game with Lucie and Desi, Jr.
Yes
Periodically? Magazine!
Theres a delightful episode on UA-cam with James and Gloria Stewart and their twin daughters.
Although it would be slightly cheating (although I think they allow it) especially after a few tries/clues, for "Amazing" may be saying "Astounding" but holding the "A"with a little smile i.e. "Aaaaaaaa (smiling) mazing!"
The earliest tinkle joke I've seen on a game show. The Match Game would take tinkle to another level.
Magazine is almost amazing…
cool
She got the Rose Marie thing going on.
That kid really wanted the encyclopedias!!!
He would use those books for years...the $$$ would be gone in a matter of days...
@@janeiwasduncan8463 I wonder. In 1962, $250 was worth about $2,100 in 2022 money.
I'm surprised (very) that they would allow the word "Tinkle" in 1962 on national television. I wonder if it would have been allowed to use the word "Urinate"...
