      recommend getting a MT-07. it's the nr1 most popular beginner bike and here you have to use your own bike to take your riders license. you also have to do a obstacle course while going crawl speed using the clutch and balancing before you are even allowed out for the street riding test so you know the MT is a good beginner bike that you can comfortably handle and grow in to :). most naked bikes in the 500-700cc range are good beginner bikes. just stay away from the high revving 10k+ ones because they are just annoying for a beginner to ride. other good bikes are the kawasaki Er-6N which is the nr1 most popular beginner bike on a budget. like 90% of the er6n that are for sale here come from people who used it as their first bike and used it for the driving test.

    Really enjoying the motorcycle content there ! I'd like to give an advice to new riders : don't overthink your first bike's choice, you're not going to keep it very long, and your inexperience makes you unable to notice many of the flaws people report with some models anyways, so just go ahead and just get whatever you want IN THE BEGINNER BIKE CATERGORY, please don't go kill yourself on a 100+ hp bike because you think you can handle it : you can't.

    • @BladedAngel
      @BladedAngel  Рік тому +52

      yeah, I'm glad you use a HP clarification cuz when most ppl use CC It confuses most beginners. Since some 600s are slow, some are VERY FAST so I just say "Around 50HP area" is great starter.
      100HP bikes start to get in 3-3.9 sec 0-60 already, wayyyy too much for most beginners.

    • @Veldrade
      @Veldrade Рік тому +18

      @@BladedAngel Agreed, 100 is already way too much for a beginner, I just had to come up with a number without sounding like a stuck up "experienced" rider.
      Around 50 hp is neat but I think going up to 70 is fine, since that's where most beginner friendly parallel twin 600cc bikes are at. I live in Europe and honestly I would probably have ended up in multiple high speed accidents when I started, weren't it for the existence of the restrictive licence for new riders.
      And yeah people tend to get confused with CC, so I try to always speak in terms of HP to avoid any catastrophic confusion

    I know it just came out, but the Kawasaki zx4rr looks insane! It has upgraded suspension, upgraded body positioning, and they upgraded it to an inline four, you get the high end power and that 600cc superbrike sound, but it's way more manageable. It's lightweight and flickable, and I think you can get them for around 10-11k after taxes/dealer fees.

    Had a 2015 Kawasaki Vulcan S in green from 2015 - 2022. Absolutely loved it. Thing is fast and a joy to ride. Unfortunately I had to sell it because my apartment doesn't allow motorcycles. My options were to keep it at my parents' (who live 8 hours away) and I ride it once or twice a year when I visit during riding season (they live in the north, so not a very long season), rent a storage unit which I'd then have to drive to if I wanted to ride it, or sell it and put those funds towards the new car I was getting soon. Unfortunately it was best to sell it. Got $6,200 when I paid $7,500. Not bad for a 7 year old vehicle.

Sure, there is something to be said for the beginner bikes here, and I still definitely want to try the Vulcan S/GV 650, but depending on your wallet, your size, and availability, it's perfectly fine to go above 1000 cc, so long as you're mature and responsible.

Super cub was what I decided was the best option for me and I have not been disappointed, so thank you for letting me know about this piece of motorcycle equipment. Quick question as someone who’s looking to get into motorcycles, what would you recommend in terms of gear and security/safety? I’m thinking about a Scram 411 but considering that I live in Canada and 400 series highways are quite common, I want to know what’s safe for things like highways while still being relatively affordable and dependable, and you seem like a good person to ask since you also have a lot of experience with similar American highways.

    I got a brand-new '22 Honda CB300R as my first ever motorcycle, in the blue and gold; I love the thing, it's peppy and handles incredibly well. It also looks amazing in that color combo. Gets closer to 65-70mpg and doesn't like going over 85mph. Unfortunately, it's starting to cough only 8 months after I got it, but fortunately the work is under warranty... hopefully just a one-time problem, waiting to hear back from the garage to see what's up with it (the original dealer I bought it from has a shoddy reputation locally, so maybe they did something stupid... they also scratched the exhaust, which they replaced). I do a lot of highway miles since it's my commuter, so I'm often running it up pretty high in the RPMs. Amazing between 20-60mph, and pops and burbles upon deceleration. Also only 317lbs, which is great for a beginner/woman rider :)

    I’ve been riding a zx650 kawi and the v twin is definitely forgiving but has enough power to get around cars on the interstate, was looking for a ninja 400 but there pricey compared to the deal I got

    Crazy to think that in some places people start with a 300cc
    In the country i live, most people start with a 100cc - 150cc and these stronger bikes (over 300cc), are dream bikes for most people.
    My father always says that these bikes (up to 160cc) are basically bycicles 😅.

    Really surprised you went with the Rebel 300/500 instead of the older but still reliable Rebel 250. Super cheap but a great beginner bike.
    I had a 1985 Rebel 250 (first model year), and am looking at a Harley Davidson Dyna Street Bob next.

      I remember those. I was only fifteen and there's a 150cc max where I live and my dad didn't want me on something that couldn't get out of its own way, so we looked at bigger bikes that didn't overtly say how big they were, like the Kawasaki Ninja 250 that I really wanted. Ended up coming down to that or the Honda Reflex. I took the Reflex; the Rebel was too short for me because I have long legs. My friend had a Rebel, though.
