I'm fairly confident that being there are so many other variables, including the quality of the mic on the camera, the position of the person recording, not to mention the limitations of the concert hall - to blame it on the sound engineer isn't fair. I've been to 100's of concerts (many of the same bands) and the acoustics of the building make ALL the difference. If The Police had properly recorded their concert at the San Diego Civic Center in 1981, that live album would've gone platinum.
wynyardjohn obviously you don't realize this is recorded by a hand camera, with a built-in mic, at the SIDE of the stage, picking up a lot of on-stage monitors - not the house mix, so that there is a lot of bass and vocals and only a sprinkling of anything else. AND, there is no vol. input control on a handheld camera. So before you come flaming ANYONE's sound engineer, get yourself a shred of a clue.
