    This is a quick review on MANDALA OMBRE YARN
    Each color in Mandala® Ombré gradually blends into the other in both tonal and multi-colored versions. The printing technique allows for some of the cream yarn base to show through, creating a hand-dyeD. Mandala Ombré is slightly thicker than the original, spun with multiple plies of premium acrylic, 4 weight yarn, 12 colors. 344 yards.
    A self-striping medium weight yarn great for creating crochet projects. This yarn comes in many different colors ranging from bright, neutral to dark. It's 100% acrylic yarn that is presented in a yarn cake. Check out the video to learn a little more about this yarn.

    Thank you for this review. I am using Mandala Ombre now and I like the softness, but it splits easily so I don't think I'll buy it again.

    Can you show how you add the next mandala ombre so it is the same pattern for all 3 yarn bundles and what the yarn bundles look like when you do want the pattern even? I think I have it but I'd like to be sure.. I hope this is explained OK thank you for the reviews and the beautiful blanket pattern such a lovely and easy pattern 😊

      Hi Alicia, I really didn't over think it. I just use the yarn as it came unraveled from the skein. Fortunately it actually lined up nicely. Sometimes you can work for either center or the outside and that will sometimes line up the pattern, if that makes sense.

    I have some of this yarn, and the color of your baby blanket is the cake that I have. It's so beautiful!
    I have a question though--can a boomerang shawl be made big enough with this yarn?

    • @AhselAnneCrochet
      @AhselAnneCrochet  3 роки тому

      Yes I would think so, This yarn is approx 344 yards and I think you could make a boomerang shawl with approx 320 yards. Depending on your gauge and the size crochet hook you use.

      @@AhselAnneCrochet Well, actually, I don't crochet, but I knit...so, I was just wondering, because I am doing a boomerang shawl. Thank you.

    I love the Mandala yarns and the ombré is great. I love the colorway you chose, the blanket is so pretty!! Did you use a shell stitch? 🥰🧶

    • @AhselAnneCrochet
      @AhselAnneCrochet  4 роки тому +1

      Thank you This is the sedge stitch which is very similar to the shell stitch, sc, hdc, dc. in a cluster of three. I really like the way it looks.

    Thank you for the review, Felicia! Mandala looks like quality yarn. How about the yarn they have on sale right now at Joann's: Big Twist for only $1.50. Do you think it would be okay to crochet slippers for my grandkids?

    • @sandyshore8787
      @sandyshore8787 4 роки тому

      I have looked at the Big Twist yarn at Joanne’s and the big thing I noticed was that you can’t put it in the dryer according to the label. You can only machine wash it. I read one comment about a person that had put it in the dryer and they said it came out feeling like plastic, so I never bought it. To me it has an ok feel to it, but it doesn’t seem soft for wearables.

      HI, I just made a beret out of the big twist yarn (video will be posting tomorrow, fingers crossed 😊). It was a little softer than the Redheart supersaver. It does say on the label to not tumble dry so I'm not sure if that will work to with socks. I felt okay to make the beret out of it because it wouldn't need to laundry as much.

    About the cake unraveling: you need a yarn sock (or bra). Cute ones are available at
    Slipped stitch studios on line.

      Oh Okay. I was thinking about making some yarn socks. I'll have to check them out, thanks for the suggestion. 🙂

    Also, I am a knitter. I really like Mandala yarns. I knit for charity and find the yarn to be softer than lots of other acrylics available, plus the yardage is wonderful. I am currently knitting 30" lap squares using the dish cloth pattern from long ago... half way is about 154 stitches then decrease down to 5 and bind off.
