Love both colorways combined!!! Great Combo!!! I love the wider shawls verses the longer shawls! Nice stitching Jen! Love you girl! Love the shawl!😊❤Hug the Pups for me!!
Mandala is what brought me back into crocheting. It was 2020 and I found out I had breast cancer. I was at the doctor's office, staying away from people, wearing that darn mask and scared out of my mind. Not just because of the cancer but my doctor who I had met only a month earlier tells me she's leaving the practice so now I have to put my trust into a new doctor. Anyway, back to the yarn. I'm sitting in the office with my husband and a woman is crocheting and she's using this OMG amazing yarn. I haven't looked at yarn in 20 years and I was always drawn to the varigated variety. But this yarn, it was different colors but it wasn't varigated. I was drawn to it. I got up my nerve and approached the woman who of course didn't like someone coming up close to her, masks or not and I asked her what the yarn was. I started crocheting and it took my mind off the cancer. I've had to stop a few times because of other illnesses but I've come back and now I have a yarn stash and my husband doesn't mind. He's even surprised me with yarn at times.
Hey Lady! Love the shawl. I now have to try the Mandala String. BTW. If you want to check out wraps per inch, all you need is a ruler marked in inches. Or a piece of cardboard with two or three inch wide segments marked. Wrap the yarn evenly - not tight, not loose - and count the number of pieces that fit in one inch. It's super easy. Now that you've been talking about what else you want to make, you have my brain running wild. Ooh - machine washable and dryable. Can't beat that.
Hello! lol That shawl is coming out beautiful! That yarn looks like fun to work with. I assume you all are well and having a great week. Catch you tomorrow!
I love this yarn I bought the same color and making granny square tote with all Those colors…yes!!!yarn bouncy after stitches are Done!!! Ha I noticed that too!!! I love love this yarn too gonna go back and get different color way to make myself a cardigan with it
Good morning Jen, you can tell when you really like something .You get all giddy 😂 it's so sweet to watch. I do agree that the colors are so pretty and vibrant 😊
I got 3 skeins of Jazz and made a beautiful shawl. I need get 2 more I think. I also loved working with this yarn and everything about. It’s didn’t feel like a 1 yarn for me. I’d say it about a 3 also. I found I didn’t have to untangle it a lot. The colors are beautiful. Can’t wait to do more projects
Love the colors of that yarn. Some day I hope I can get some. I've been in a crochet slump for a while , seeing those colors & how excited you are talking about them got me excited to make something 😊.
Hi Jennifer! I stumbled on the Mandala String at hobby lobby. I love it too. It completely feels like cotton. 100% agree. The bags I sent you for your birthday are made with scheepjes, but this yarn is similar even though the label says 100% acrylic. I am making bags for donation out of the mandala string and they are turning out great. At times I have had trouble pulling from the center so i have ended up rolling into a ball and i have found several knots in some of my skeins. i just cut and make my own magic knot. Also some of the skeins have a very short section that is roving into a slightly thicker strand but when i crochet along it works itself in just fine. I love this yarn and the colors! Love the shawl and enjoyed your review and comments,
You love the mandala string yarn so very much that I think I'll get a few skeins even though I promised myself to hold off on buying more acrylic yarn. The way you compared it with the regular mandala really makes me want to try it. I certainly has the appearance and definition of cotton yarn. I love mercerized cotton yarn so I know I'm gonna love the mandala string too😍😍❤❤
Hello Jennifer, I have been watching you for along time, Yes the mandala strings does make greaat garments, When it 1st came out I made a top out of it called (sprinkles) in my shorts. Love ur shawl, same color way I used. I also love everything about this yarn. Thanks for the great vibes for this yarn, Have a great day!
Yeeeowww!! 😂😂😂😂😂 ❤ U Jennifer! You make me laugh! I need to try this yarn. 🧶 I was thinking it looks like a dk weight. I can totally see a baby blanket with the lighter color way.
Thanks for the tip. I will have to check that yarn out . I love Mandala yarn. Never used string but must try it, I love love love the bright color but I like the jazz too.
Another yarn I now have to try out. Like I don't have enough!! But you make them sound so wonderful, it's hard to resist. And your hair looks great today. I was thinking you did something special when I first saw it, and then you said it wasn't cooperating. But it is. 😊
The shawl is really pretty! Thanks for tipping us off about the fact it works like a 3 weight and how its not stretchy and has a fantastic sheen! Im sure Id love working with it! Thanks again, Jenn!
You are so much fun when you get so excited 🤗🤗 The shawl is so pretty. Can’t get to Hobby Lobby and not crazy about thin yarn. But loved your showing us about the yarn 🧶 Have a great day!!!
I really want you to know! You always make my day, when i have watched your videos. Love your content and it seems like you are a very nice/humble person :)
Your shawl is looking great. I made a big Lacey shawl using the Beats color. The yarn works up really well. I think this is one better suited to crochet then knit.
Jen are you going to make a tutorial for the shawl,in not,can you tell me where I can find the tutorial, I bought the thread now I need a pattern,I'm a beginner.
Mandala yarns rofl I have a collection.. their was a craft store here.. ac moore.. when they went out of business I bought all there lionbrand Mandela yarns they had left for $1 each... I have like 10 to 20 of the older color combos.. haven't found project to use them with yet
Ahhh. So funny you liked the Country color too. Of course. My yarn twin. 😂 Legit the Ballad is a nice neutral too. Not your thing any more than it is mine but there’s far less brown in it than appears on the label and the grey is gorgeous.

You can probably determine a lot of information from your yarn just by touching. Modern society is so generic there is very little interface with special skill.
I got this yarn before it was at hobby lobby. I needed to make lamp shades for open lightbulbs. I used the color way that was more fall colors but I also felt that this was a much thicker yarn then the “normal” 1 weights. It’s a wonderful yarn and I’m looking forward to all the new items that you will be making!
I'm with you on the ADHD. My son has it too and I see so many of those characteristics in myself. But sometimes I have to remember that abnormal is the extension of the normal.
You know I was waiting for your review of this one. I’m adoring it as well, as you know. Though the danged sweater pattern im working with is ugggh. Lol. I’m making that in the Ballad color which is greys and browns. I do love and wear a lot of grey but almost never brown so it’s definitely something different for me. I also bought three skeins each (which was bold of me. I had some wildly bad crap happen in my life and dang it I went way out to Hobby Lobby specifically for this yarn! Though I left with a bunch of others and hit up the Joann’s in the same shopping center which was wear I found a boatload of Panoramic) and I don’t know what I was thinking because I went for either the Jazz or Beats? specifically. And I’m pretty sure I went with…. One and not the other. I only have the Ballad out and went to check photos from the store and thought they didn’t have the one. No. I freaking had them both so I put one back and regretted that. So I either got one or the other as well as Country which again, was something totally different and unique for me, blues and green and oh hey more brown. Ha my mood was muddy or something. So bizarre I put back or didn’t just get three or both Jazz and Beats. I’m thinking I grabbed Beats but Jazz was what I had wanted from the first time I saw them online. Pretty sure I’m going to need at least another ball for my sweater so I’ll go back and get the others too, dang it. I know you or someone else mentioned some of the colors in the photos on the sides of the skeins are wrong and I think that confused me. Weird if I did go with Beats since it’s missing the aqua- glad it is more or less rainbow since that was my intention. I’ve noticed the Ballad photo shows quite a bit more brown but it’s much more grey tones with a little bit of brown which was relatively apparent from the balls themselves. I am so curious to see how Country actually works up because that one totally surprised me but really drew my eye at the store. And honestly, I’m surprised you love the feel of this one since I was guessing you might not. I don’t know that I love it myself. It’s a bit sponge-y is the only way I know how to describe it? I am working in a 3.25mm hook while 4 is what is recommended and that may be part of the issue. I gauge swatched for the pattern with literally 4 different hooks- the 3.25, 3.5, 3.75 and 4. And yeah. lol. I am meeting gauge and measurements but I’m wary of if it is a bit too small of a hook because I’m not in love with the drape on my sweater. Though the pattern I picked didn’t have my true size (you once called XS like 10 year old size. Well, I’m about the same size and for sure the same height I was at 10. Lol) and I had to frog and take a bunch of stitches out and at this point am largely doing my own dang thing but before frogging when it was too large oof it was doing some weird folds. But I also recently made a shirt with the K&C hand dyed cotton and you already know I love my cotton and that particular cotton was some of my all time favorite. So compared to that, this is very similar in size but a very different feel and ahh I’m commenting early and you said it’s working up like a 3 weight. Yeah. It’s so weird. And ha. Super funny I went almost a full mm smaller and you went a full mm larger. I had some of the K&C beside it and same size. Funny enough I made that cotton shirt with a 3.5 but probably should’ve done a 3.75 which was what I originally thought I’d work this sweater in (both patterns said 3.5) and somehow this is working up faster. That K&C hand dyed was actually a very stretchy cotton which worked to my advantage because my shirt was too small. I have concerns with how the Strings sweater is going to stretch since it’s already a bit large on me. But I’m hoping the stretch will improve the drape issues I am having.
Since my first comment was getting long, as usual- Ehhh. I disagree on the mercerized cotton comparison. I really do. It’s that sponginess that I just don’t know wtf to compare it to. 😂 So that K&C hand dyed cotton has a stretch that’s honestly similar. Stretchier than a mercerized cotton (not sure I’ve ever seen mercerized cotton in a 1 weight tho so I’m comparing it to a 3/4 and it stretches more than those!) but it’s really smooth. I think in the ball the Strings feels like mercerized cotton but worked up and in my hands as I’m working it’s so stretchy and just… spongy. That’s the best word I have. Never felt a yarn like it but dang it it’s spongey. It feels literally like those makeup sponges to me. And now that I keep making that comparison and eh it’s discontinued anyhow, but did you ever work with the K&C hand dyed cotton? For cotton I really think you’d probably like it too. I commented on your Mary Maxim video how I’d just made some washcloths and this morning a headband with some leftover yarn. I did those with Just Cotton from Dollar Tree and oof. Happy to be done working with that type of cotton! I freaking broke a hook, well not entirely but the hook is sliding up and down and around in the handle and my hands were crazy sore (probably should stop falling asleep crocheting tho… my own adhd mind makes it so the into way I sleep is if I finally get too tired and drift off in the middle of stuff. But doing that with crochet my hands end up in awful positions) and it was starting to really irritate my skin. I am SO happy to back to the Mandala Strings and it’s kind of amusing that a finer yarn and smaller hook is a relief on my hand and wrist pain but spongey stretchy whatever- it is such a joy to work with. (Meanwhile my yarn adhd. I’m actually working up a scarf right now with the Fair Isle Wool Ease. Hit the Joann’s Labor Day sale and probably going back tomorrow. But had to break up my constant cotton projects with something totally different. Still need to finish those lounge pants I keep talking about with the Panoramic too. But eh. Life is super wonky right now and I’ve been really sick all week. Just glad to be back into finishing some of my projects and crocheting more again.)
What’s your mercerized cotton comparison yarn though? That’s a tiny 3 weight. Is it the Lion Brand 24/7 Cotton? Or Cotton DK, I guess. The regular 24/7 is in my mind a slim 3 not a 4 and the DK is way more a 2. Waaay smaller than like I have a bunch of the K&C Essential Cotton which I noticed is labeled a 3 and obviously softer but almost identical in size to the Just Cotton which claims to be a 4. So screw all these numbers. 😂

Thanks Cinnamon, but you are yarn queen, it says so in your intro 😅❤ love the shawl.
Ahhh. So funny you liked the Country color too. Of course. My yarn twin. 😂

The colors in your shawl are so beautiful, An original by Cinnamon Stitches/Jennifer. I would love to see a top like the one behind you. It would be STUNNING, especially in the Harmony color for fall! ♥️
Good morning sunshine 🧶🥤😁
Good morning!
Connected with what you were saying about textural input. I think its a talent, like some people have excellent oliphactory sensesandwork with perfumes.
Yee!Oww! Goodie ! Need some positivity 😊👋👋
My oldest wasn't diagnosed with ADHD until 42 😂 I feel the same ! Bored with blah and sameness Have multiple WIP s 😊
It's a Cinnamon Stitches original 😊!!!
Is there a pattern or at least a general idea about this shawl? Would love to crochet a granny shawl!!
It's like a C 2 C with the triangle. ☺😍

Mine's cotton balls, lol just thinking about touching one puts my teeth on edge, and I don't gave any teeth!😂
A heck sweater would be nice
I mean a hexi sweater
Do you have a tutorial of the shawl? Please please!
No i dont
Oooh you are such a temptress lol 😂❤
How do you make the project bags? Thanks
Jennifer I cannot wait to see what yarn of the week you're working with? YOW 🎉❤😊 the Shaw making is beautiful!

Looking for a pattern for a mobius fidget can you help
I don't know, I think Yarn Goddess is an appropriate title. :)
As of today, Jan 2nd, 2024, Lion Brand website is sold out of Mandala String. 1.35pm.
Hi. What hook size did you use on that string yarns to make that shawl?😊
4m i think
@@CinnamonStitches thank you!
How do they do that?
I’m working on a wrap out of a #2wt. Cotton and it’s a lot thinner than your yarn. 🤨
Omg they do look the same. Lol
Adhd does run in famlies..
Yep
The way you're working on the slant is like the Just Feel Festive shawl by Kelisha of the Quirky Monday podcast on UA-cam: ua-cam.com/video/-nsG3HZ0i5w/v-deo.html
When you said the yarn feels like a #3 weight has convinced me to buy it. Actually, I Want it! Thanks.🩷🩷
