"You are horrible people" -Phrosphor 2023 You gave us too much power and like Icurus, you flew too close to the sun. And now we all get to watch your descent into madness
Highfleet Season 3: Brothers in Arms Episode 1 To: Ens. Vasily Georgiv, Sensor Officer, Wahatan From: GM2 Dimitri Georgiv, Gunner 2nd Class, Muhit Dearest Brother, I hope that this communique finds you in high spirits. When we joined the fleet, I was not expecting to be thrust into battle so abruptly. Serving in the Grand Duke’s armada was supposed to be an easy posting with most of our time spent on parading around the empire looking fine in our white dress uniforms. How that has changed. Muhit’s attack on Assam was a close-run thing. Right after we broke from the fleet we came under heavy aircraft and missile attack. While we were able to fend off most of the assaults, we could not save us all. My dear friend, Surgi, was in the engine room when a missile made it through our defenses. He survived, however, he was heavily burned from the explosion. I’m not sure if it was better that he survive in his current state or that he should have died than live in the infirmary with only our limited stocks of opiums to keep him comfortable. He was only 19. I pray that we make it through this campaign but the thought of being stuck in the magazines as the ship goes down does make my nights restless. Have you heard anything from Mother or Father? I know that the traitors bombed the capitol, and I pray that they had left the city and gone to see our sister’s new child. At least that small hope is enough. Please let me know if you hear anything at all, even if it is their names on the lists of those killed by those bastard Garati. I can not wait to hear their cries for mercy and I will make sure that we show them none. Be safe, Brother. I can not wait until we can embrace again. Do send this on to Mikel and Sasha. I don’t have much time before we arrive at Assam and face the enemy. With love, Demitri Message copied. These highfleet campaigns have really helped me learn the game. It's nice to see a normal person discuss tactics/builds and not a meta freak on the reddit.
That felt like 3-5 late-ish episodes of your hard mode campaign in 22 minutes. Cannot overstate just how GOOD this content is, minute for minute it beats anything the streamers are throwing billions at. Congrats and good luck!!
Was looking into if Highfleet would be a game I'd enjoy and came across this. Probably not the best frame of reference for difficulty, but it is really exciting to watch! xD
@@Phrosphor I'm working through the hard mode series now whilst I wait for more of this and am really enjoying it! I'll most likely watch the series before it after I'm done, but out of curiosity, how much of a spike in difficulty do you reckon there is between normal and hard mode? I'd assume the difference between the two series wouldn't be quite accurate due to learning how the game plays and such, so I'd be curious to your thoughts in retrospect :D I have to say, even when you have to concentrate during some of the fights, you're able to keep really consistent commentary during all of this! I definitely expected more editing cuts to deal with grand strategy musings, but I am pleasantly surprised to find none :O
I expect to see amazing, ultrahardcore campaign, and i believe only you Phros can beat it. You may consider it as a personal test for Senior Strategic Operation Officer :)
I am putting together a pack for the ships so that people can install this as easily as possible. The Voice is a little harder I need to confirm the rights in terms of releasing it.
The idea of naming your tanker Drinks, incase for leaken communications so your enemy thinks you are talking on carrying beer supplies like a drunk driver is cool
My single solitary sadness with this series is it doesn’t have the 1.16 effects. As painful as the balance/mechanical changes of 1.16 are, those new visual effects do look d^mn good. But being behind the version curve is the life of playing modded. An acceptable sacrifice
I am currentry watching your vanilla playthrough 34 vids you made 1 year ago and i am really enjoying it ! Very happy to see that you are still making videos and starting a new campaign! You a a true gem in the playtrough vidoe genre on youtube and the only one i currently watch, keep it up and keep enjoying it ! :)
Christ this series is gonna be insane. I hope there’s enough balance to where your battles are beneficial enough to fund future endeavors. Loving the action and suspense thus far. Good Luck to you brother
Can't your fire suppressions when landing to cool the engines? You've stumbled across an interesting gameplay concept. Take away the arbitrary push of the city becoming "dangerous" and instead let the player's actions decide if they've stayed around too long by gradually getting their defenses worn down. You could also build a supply base of sorts by clearing out a constellation of cities, baring attacking strike fleets, a player would have somewhere consistent that they had to invest time and resources in taking other than just making a mad dash for Khiva.
I intentionally avoided *most* of the custom replacement designs, so I'm very much looking forward to seeing all of the sadistic creations within this campaign. I say this especially excited as a terrible shipbuilder myself.
Nice. Good luck on the run. I stopped playing since the flares got nerved so hard. Any recommendations, because I dont wanna go back to middle difficulty and I like to play only with vanilla ships?
Man I feel like you should have been given some more slack really. Maybe a lot more money to build your fleet. Feels like you'll just get obliterated when the first strike fleets comes, since you can't even hide from them or really soften them with loads of long range attacks. Maybe I'm underestimating you, hope so... anyways fuckin HYPE (also worried about contents in shops... Does the fact that the game isnt accounting for you getting hit with a gazillion cruise missiles at each garrisson mean that you'll just not be a able to buy enough AAM's in the long run? Let's see how it goes...)
This is going to be tough but I wanted the challenge. Strike groups will need to be fought with the Rock and the Ocean in order to get through them. The only ships I am really scared of in those groups are and . The one upside is these custom designs tend to all carry sprints so I can salvage a lot if I get hold of them quickly. You say how I grabbed a 5 stack of ASM's in the first salvage of the campaign expect to see 2-3 stacks of AAM's as we get deeper into enemy territory.
Not having a crew quarters under the fueltanks on that battleship for wireless power is more concerning than I expected when I saw the design from the last video.
In the beginning im pretty sure they didn't know you were there, not on radar at least. Elint has double range to radar, up to the max range of the elint sensor. They may have picked up your radar though

The hardest part of a highfleet campaign is getting re-used to the combat controls and leading targets. The weight is like nothing else

This is great! You should post it on the discord!
@@Phrosphor I thought about posting it to discord, but I figured everyone would see it in the comments. I'll post it there tonight (pst) sometime.
This is awesome
Please keep doing this
Lore is life ^^
Yes, keep it up! Wonderful story

Oh, the battle voiceover is now Prez?
Yes! I was so lucky to be able to engage them to do some work for me!
@@Phrosphor Now that’s awesome!
very happy to see you back in a Highfleet campaign :D. Very much looking forward to this one.
YOOOOOOOOOOO-
So happy to finally see it!
Pro tip: fire suppressants can be used as coolant for engines during landing (and combat).
Rock and Roll! Hit it, Phrosphor!
Yay!!!!
Just in time for summer binging. Im very excited to see this playthrough. Good luck!!
What an intense start. Looks like it was worth the wait.
It's just getting started, wait till you see what's coming!

Haha, yeah this is pretty extreme, check out my other series if you want a better idea of how it plays!

And so it begins!!! Very excited for the campaign, and I can tell it's going to be a blast
Love your voice actress's work. She sounds like she'd fit right into the cramped command centers on your ships.
She was a pleasure to work with and delivered some great content. I had several options for every line.
Only one episode in and this has already been worth the wait!
Thanks so much for making this; I wish I could subscribe a second time.
Yay! I am glad it is entertaining!
This is wild!!! What a great start!

I need to up my game then, as so far I haven't made the best showing. I have plans in the tank though.
Very nice video! Love the game.
Is it possible to get the ships, AI ships, combat-voice etc? I want to play this campaign.
I am putting together a pack for the ships so that people can install this as easily as possible. The Voice is a little harder I need to confirm the rights in terms of releasing it.

I am rewatching episode 1 because 2 is not here yet, that is how excited I am for this campaign
I will do some more recording this weekend! I wanted to get a good rest before I played again since tiredness was for sure an issue.

Can't believe it's finally here ❤

Wait until you see the big cruisers in this campaign...
God almighty what a start to the campaign. This thing makes other campaigns I have watched look like a holiday resort stay.
Godspeed sir. I'm rooting for your victory
It's here!
Excellent video. But not long enough!
Thank campaign is so far everything I hoped it would be :)
Thank!
Phros you can use FSS while landing to cool the engines when hard burning!
Game changer, I feel I used to know this and forgot.
YOOOOOOO I BEEN WAITING FRO MONTHS LETS GOOOOO! looking forwards to the campaign thanks for all the hard work everyone put in!
I’m watching this through my fingers. Dread level 9. Off to watch some stardew valley vids now to calm down. Keep em coming though
I'm happy to see my missile tactical group ships making a debut. Sorry about the missiles.
At least we took one of them out? Everyone we destroy is one less flinging missiles at us long term. Hopefully the trade off is worth it.
@@Phrosphor Fingers crossed the attrition isn't too much. I want to see the typhon replacements.
I'm torn between supporting your dramatic uphill battle and rooting for the community (-built ships)!
why not both, we are all members of the comunity.
Mods? This game has mods?! What! * starts searching*
Yo this goes hard
Its awesome!
OH MY GODDDD FUCK YEAHHH
So exited about this campaign

DeepL translates this to: 'Good riddance!'?

In the beginning im pretty sure they didn't know you were there, not on radar at least. Elint has double range to radar, up to the max range of the elint sensor. They may have picked up your radar though
It actualls depends, hes using the short range (seemingly unobstructed?) small ELINTs, so its actually 1.4x.
I think no retries on landings would be good - I always liked permadeath series.
LETS GOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO
