This is why it's so important to audit these stations and identifying the clueless tyrants.
Detained for taking a photo of the inside of a car? Detained for being suspicious?
These muppets need to be demoted or retrained on the basic freedoms enjoyed by anyone in the UK.
A formal complaint needs to be made.

Quite. Must be a fair few cameras around, you would have thought. If they had concerns, all they needed to do was to observe and then take action if necessary. Instead, they all ask the same stupid question - what do they expect a burglar to say - 'yeah, fair cop, I was just about to use the crowbar in my bag to break in'?

I'm really confused by their logic, e.g., why would a person looking to break into a car film themselves looking into that car? A genuine thief would not walk up to the car, mobile phone in hand, filming into the car including filming their own reflection, in the middle of the day.

@@billb7876it’s rather concerning these things do actually exist, especially as the technology in cars has evolved in recent years. Some people insist on using a phone app to gain entry, start and drive their car without a physical key at all. Of course technology by thieves has also been created to mimic this. These modern cars are easier to steal than ever!

Now he thinks that only cars belonging to police are entitled to be protected with the police's stop and search power. So in effect he doesn't think anyone else's car should be protected. There was nothing wrong with the Inspector's actions. It was a lawful search. Approaching cars that don't belong to you and looking right into the window with a phone is always going to give police lawful grounds to search for items used for going equipped for theft. The grounds were further re-enforced by the fact that AB refused to give a legitimate reason for doing it.

what amazes me is that here you have the most well-known auditor in britain, a man with over a quarter of a million subscribers, whose voice is easily recognisable, who has earned thousands of pounds from the police for wrongful detainment - and when officers come up to him they demonstrate that not only do they not know the law but also that they have no clue who AB is. how is such ignorance possible?
