This game is shockingly adorable given its premise. All the cats are so cute and I do like the puzzles, though I do wish we didn't have to get the poor goldfish killed in the process. At least the cats are all out, presumably ending up adopted or adjusting to being an outdoor cat. The door being left open will lead to someone discovering the old woman's body, so she'll be spared the fate of her body decomposing in her apartment. It's as happy an ending as we could expect, I suppose.
Unfun fact: Indoor cats usually end up run over or otherwhise killed very, very quickly. In fact outdoor cats live a measly 2 years on average. Let's hope they just ran up and down that corridor allerting the neighbours and maybe even getting adopted by someone they already know.
@@JuMiKu Given how they seem to be in some sort of apartment, there ain't much of a way for them to get outside as far as I can tell. Probably animal control was called shortly and they were taken to a shelter of some sort.
I mean, that's really the only thing I fear when it comes to death. Who's gonna take care of my animals and kids and if they'll do it right. I can't trust my husband😂
Here's my canon after-story so I can get some closure: The leasing office manager found the scene of the accident after hearing complaints about kitties roaming the fourth floor of the complex. The manager was quite fond of the old woman (despite this tenant sneaking in 10+ extra pets). So she decided to round up the cats and adopt them out herself. Through some community posts, she was able to get the cats all new homes. *Frederick and Edgar were adopted by another sweet elderly woman. They all enjoy good naps and snacks. *Mr Spock was taken by a nerdy stoner boy. They like to get high and watch sci fi films on the couch. *Baroness and Pickle were selected by a budding chef. Now, Baroness can watch cooking on TV and up close, and Pickle can finally get some decent food! *Pumpkin was adopted by....whatever, Pumpkin's just happy to finally get some alone time. *A nice couple picked up Ponyo and Clancy. They get excited to sleep in the human-sized hammocks on camping trips. *The clever Geoffrey was taken by an adjunct chem professor. They like to periodically banter about cation analysis. *Sniffles was adopted by a college freshman. Sniffles is always there in the bathroom to comfort the post-party puking human. *Rufus and Deborah were taken into a home with kids. They get allll the good pets and treats. *Finally, the office manager adopted any leftover kitties not mentioned. Hope this helps!(^・ω・^=)
Honestly, I really liked this game. I find it really sweet that the ghost grandma wouldn't move on until her cats were out of the room. I'm sure that the other tenants wouldn't just let a bunch of cats onto the street and would investigate where the y came from, so I'm sure they'd be sent to the grandma's family or something.
I actually really like this concept even if its sort of sad to think about. I'd love a longer game using this exact same premise but with the added goal of following each of the cats through an expansive world and finding them permanent homes. I just love point and click adventure games and cats so much, and it would be so sweet / sad to watch the old lady pick out perfect owners for each of her babies. It is sort of awful that none of her cats reacted to her dying, though. Lots of people think that cats will always react like nothing happened if their owners die, but cats really do love their owners a bunch of the time and do actually grieve.
Cats do grieve, but I am unsure if these cats realized that their owner died. It takes some time for them to realize that you're not just napping, you're missing from their life, and then they start grieveing.
I look at it this way, her cats probably just got into the lobby she looks like she lives in an appartment complex so most likely they were recaught for her and they found her body and she was able to pass on to the afterlife from there. Then the cats all get good homes with probably the next of kin
i would think setting them free in an apartment like this would at least alert the neighbours who would be like oh look aren't these that old lady's kitties let's return them, oh she's dead... and the cats can be safely rehomed without getting out into the streets :')
Yeah that's what I thought especially if she's known around the neighborhood to always take good care of her cats, not let them outdoors, etc. Lol we're going too deep w/the car lady lore! 😆🧶🐈⬛🐈🐾
_I know the goldfish's eventual fate was sealed, but..._ Feeding it & then cooking it seemed especially cruel. So...my late grandmother use to take in stray cats in her house. Her house ended up being full of cats, borderline "crazy cat lady" type of house. This game...kind of hits a bit home, I will not lie.

You know there is a secondary aspect to this. If she hadn't been able to free her cats, she would have had to watch them proceed to eat her body in desperation when they began to starve. :)
The fish part hurt, especially since the fish didn't die instantly. That was a terrible way to die, but at least the cats got out before they could start chowing on her body.
Geoffery reminds me so much of my own gorgeous little scaredy black cat, Boo. The only thing that's inaccurate is that if a fan is blowing on the cat, the cat it's blowing on is gonna run away pretty quick. Cats hate fans. Very cute and enjoyable game despite it's starting point!
The idea that pets will eat their owner's remains is exaggerated. It only happens when the pets have nothing else to eat. If they can get into wherever their extra food is stored, they'll eat that first; if they can escape the house, they'll leave.
