It pisses me off that one of the most goated Characters in the franchise was killed by an unamed thug
And note, this was AFTER Edward gone through his game battling ships and very powerful figures of that time period
to then just be stabbed by some random low life mercenary

I hate edwards ending lol. I wish he got a sequel game. My hope is they do something where they say the animus was wrong and he didn't actually die to the mercenary

A sequel is necessary. In syndicate Evie (Correction, it was Henry) called him master or grandmaster assassin or some shit, so it seems that Edward could have possibly rivaled ezio in terms of the impact Ed had on British brotherhood, even tho he did die young, we should at the very least see him as an ACTUAL assassin of the brotherhood and go out leaving behind an eternal legacy one beyond just the kenway bloodline ❤
Or just enhance the circumstance!
Like add about 10+ mercenaries, and a few Marksman on a Distant roof, have young Haytham get in the way with Edward grabbing Haytham from an oncoming attack before being shot, and as he was shot, throws Haytham aside, away from the attackers, with a skilled mercenary stabbing him in the back through his heart, or something like that.
The distraction of his children getting in the way, him being much older now, while being shot and stabbed protecting his son will be a well justified ending to him i believe.
"He's Older now, he could have handled this Huge attack, but his children were his weakness, he was fighting them alone, and his children were in danger, and in the way, he died protecting them, only for one to be raised by the enwmy, and the other to be sold as a slave/maid"
I think this will, albeit Sad, be much more fitting, and won't defy a single thing from the "leads pointing to him dying by a mere mercenary" part.
"The Forgotten Temple" does show us that his skill is beyond this!
We must remember Forsaken was written a year before the birth of Black Flag.
Which featured a much weaker Edward with a Completely different personality than the Edward from the game.
Therefore i say his death must get a Remaster.
Where they add a ton more details, and make his death more believable for his level of skill and experience.
@@temimitsui agree, and it is confirmed that Edward became Grand-Master Assassin of the British Brotherhood.
If you have read the webtoon: "Forgotten Temple" you'd see a whole bunch of Canonical skills Edward has that we didn't even know of in the game!
He can even dodge bullets at point blank range, and masters foreign weapons immediately!
He also single handedly destroyed like 8 Highly trained Ninjas with no effort at all,(more than once!)
And single handedly cleared entire ships with no crew at all. With both instances the Ninjas and Foreign pirates saying "he fights like a Demon!" while in fear of how he effortlessly slaughters them. Note, these are Highly skilled Ninjas we're talking about. He even mastered fighting against them Ninjas with a Katana he just picked up mid battle, and proceeds to execute them with their own weapon.
Aside from that, he was also one of the first assassins to wield the "Phantom Blade" from AC Unity, before Arno exists.
In his time in London he spent his time keeping the Templars at bay and Studied locations of Precursor Artifacts, and kept a Journal about it.
And he's the reason Haytham found the "Amulet" in AC3, which desmond then uses to open the gate and saved the world.
He definitely Rivals Ezio in skill, but not in experience and wisdom. But also rivals Ezio's IQ.

But Anyway, he Definitely deserves a Sequel instead of a remake, like really.
And his death should be remastered aswell with much more details making his death more believable.
I mean we do know Haytham was a distraction to him in the battle, so maybe add a sniper shot from across the building with Haytham getting in the way and While Edward saves Haytham he gets shot in the back and stabbed in the Heart almost at the same time as he gets Haytham to safety.
I don't think it's hard at all, it just needs a bit of attention is all.
Haytham is the most underrated Templar in the franchise
He is literally the most popular. Imo he is the best one. Ubisoft made all the other ones generic mustache villains

There are videos and shorts on UA-cam about the fight between Shay and Haytham, Shay would win against Haytham in a very close fight, due to their weapons and speed. But returning to the main idea, Haytham before the community is literally the best templar in AC, an opinion that I also share, I do not underestimate him at all and it is very true that he could defeat all the protagonists of AC, he would only lose against Altair and Ezio, With Connor I dare say that he would win the fight if he didn't hold back 100% and had the intention to kill, I know that Connor is an impressive beast in combat but we honestly know that there are people that Connor couldn't beat win (but he would still represent a very difficult challenge) the same people who would defeat Haytham. I dare say that Haytham could defeat Connor if that was his intention from the beginning, and regarding Shay, well, it would be a fight of extreme differences without a doubt, which could go in any direction, again I dare say that Shay would win very narrowly just because of the advantage of his arsenal and his speed but again he can go in any direction in my humble opinion, and although if Haytham would lose, he is still the best templar, with Shay in a very close second place, in my opinion thanks.

That wasn't haytham , it was one of Connor's assassin's (haytham was in the crowd)

The greatest character in the franchise. Man he was one of the only characters who deserved to live. Hell he deserved his own game. I literally enjoyed his story more than Connor’s somehow. I don’t know why. He just had that charm to him
It's because he had the charm to him that Ezio did as well. Connor was a complicated man to understand for most people, and they took him for simple, but Connor was hands down one of the most influential characters in the America's in his prime, he was as commited to the creed as Altair was.

For those saying edward went out sad, he was retired, and he was trying to protect his entire family from multiple assailants alone, and it was an ambush in the middle of the night. He did the best he could
he wasn’t retired he was the mentor of the london brotherhood. and it’s literally canon that he could clear the deck of a spanish gallion single handed, so a couple home invaders really shouldn’t be any trouble, he wasn’t even old he was only like 40. it makes absolutely no sense how he died and then the assassins just left his children to be sold into slavery and raised by the man who murdered him, it makes no sense at all.

In the books Connors fighting style actually is better than Haytham's, so it makes sense Connor still killed him when he was on the brink of death.

I just realized that Haytham is Edwards son. For some reason it never dawned on me given their last names. Kinda neat that black flag and ac3 are connected that way.

Connor mentioned Edward in AC3 as well. But yeah, end of AC4 shows a cutscene where Edward takes his daughter and a young Haytham to the opera.

Haytham is basically an assassin. One of the main reasons he joined the Templars is because he believes the assassins changed from the way they used to be. I believe that in his heart, he is much like the ancient assassins and that if the brotherhood was still that way, he would be one of them. But he believes the ideals of the assassins have went completely whack.

Yep definitely makes a lot of sense especially with Edward doing all the research and finding the history of the Assassins
i mean in reality hytham would have been named after haytham i dont think a game explination is needed to see that they used his name, maybe as a reference to hythams betrayal of the brotherhood.

Edward is a member of the Brotherhood, Haytham was a Templar and Conner was connected to but not quite IN the Brotherhood (if I remember correctly), I need to start playing the games again (I stopped at AC3 for unrelated reasons) cause I want to find out how Edward’s own son became a Templar and unintentionally made HIS own son a Assassin.
Haytham deserves another game but that will unfortunately never happen.

Despite the fact that Reginald ordered the murder of Edward and then sold Catherine, Haytham's older sister into slavery to an Arab nobleman in the Middle East. He still held firm to his beliefs that the Templar ways were the right way to go about his life.
Oddly enough, it's because Haytham is a Templar, who was brought up to be an Assassin, that he has a unique perspective of the shadow war going on behind closed doors and away from prying eyes.
It was a case of too deep to turn back now. In the end he ultimately came to regret his choices, same with not staying with zio despite how much he loved her, he ultimately respected her decision and understood her.
Forsaken does put a lot of perspective into haytham, he agreed with his sister and it does highlight a character trait of his, that he can't be honest with how he truly feels.

My favourite ac character. His classiness and charisma makes you forget what he has done. A villain, he's not evil as: GIVE ME LEE! He's the father or person that beats you with truth

best characters on AC are always templars tho (with the exception of some assassins) like Edward or Ezzio, etc.

I was thinking that it definitely wasn't an English name. I found out it means "young eagle" and just assumed it came from the same kind of area as where hytham was from.

In AC Mirage, there is a kid who wants to do the leap of faith. You show him how and his friends call him hytham.

Aging. Edward was in his 40s when he died. Not exactly an age where he’d be decrepit yet but certainly an age well past his prime.

Edwards hair being brown is from Haytham’s memory and Edward wasn’t even designed to be an Assassin yet. He was a throwaway character in the book (since the book released before black flag) and wasn’t important yet.
Also in AC ROGUE, Berg says that Haytham spared Connor and cared for him, implying that he did cut the rope.

Hytham was definitely not one of the first hidden ones in England because there are literally 5 or 6 different bueraus set up by the roman hidden ones
I find the last fact a bit strange about Haytham possibly being named after Hytham. Other than re-establishing the hidden ones in England, what did Hytham do? He had eivor take out all of the order of the ancients in England.
He started the English brotherhood so he is like a the founder of the brotherhood in England that make him respected
People in thr comments seem to forget something, when you get older you ain't really in your prime no more, Edward's murderers would have definitely gotten their ass whooped when he was young but bro's been retired for a long time and he was old. Basically, you can chose how you live but not how you die
