Oh my he was such a cutie when he was young and he gets better looking with age. Absolutely love this man. One of the greatest country music singers of all time!
I can remember mom frying up some kick ass chicken and singing this song when I was a young lad back in the late 60's .........Great memories Dwight, thanks.
That’s about the earliest video of Pete playing I’ve ever seen. Never saw him with that particular Tele before. I think he might have had that sound first. I’ve heard him talk about Those two deluxes, side by side. He’s my favorite country guitarist by a ways.
He Has The GRACE & LOOK Of Hank SR. And The Sounds Of BUCK OWENS, Why Did He Have To Change As He Is Now ?............You Dont Break What Works !!!......
Very interesting! You can see that evrything is in place ,that band is working real hard the only thing missing is the opportunity to make a deal with a music company that will make lots of money with them probly... let's hope the deal was not a long term contract...
Is there any one with more "country-cool" than Dwight? No, IMHO. And, is that an old echo-plex, or some tape-based echo unit sitting on top of that guitar amp? Cute!
Thats why if you get in my truck you hear old rock and roll, can't find any good country. Got stations for 50/60s---70s/80s and the newer sstuff on Rock nothing but a lot of talk amd supposedly country that sound like rap and can't be danced to. We need to take our kids out tonking and dancing instead of shopping for high dollar status symbol clothes We sisn't stab and shoot each other at the dance halls in the 60's 70's
Shame this was probably shot on a mobile phone,I'd just LOVE to hear this with good audio....although the crisp ring on that Martin guitar nearly made up for the overall poor sound. Wish I was still that skinny!
***** I beg to differ sir...That would be a Martin D42. Dwight still plays this same guitar in his shows. If you want to know the diff between a D42/45 letmeno..
Keep at it, Dwight.
His voice is pure silk to me. He the best

Johnny Cash said Dwight had the greatest voice in country music...That pretty much says it all!!!

Looks like Pete Anderson who produced Dwight for years and was a major influence behind Dwight's sound. One of the best.
Correct.
That’s about the earliest video of Pete playing I’ve ever seen. Never saw him with that particular Tele before. I think he might have had that sound first. I’ve heard him talk about Those two deluxes, side by side. He’s my favorite country guitarist by a ways.

Pete's got an old tape echo on top of his amp, right on.
I believe this is from late '85 or early '86, just before "Guitars, Cadillacs, etc." was released.

Very cool. When and where is this from.
Ain't it the truth?
Wow! What year was this???
@cf1934 Mitch Miller's boy? The guy that covered the great Marty Robbins, keeping Marty from the top of the charts with his own songs? Hmmm.
Shame this was probably shot on a mobile phone,I'd just LOVE to hear this with good audio....although the crisp ring on that Martin guitar nearly made up for the overall poor sound. Wish I was still that skinny!
+graham bull No mobile phones back then! How old is this footage?
+graham bull This was shot in the early-mid 1980s. This song is on his first album, which was released in 1986. He's now in his late fifties.

@123456789jamesj12345 mebbe, but it's part of the style that you learn to love.
Hello! Does Anybody know the name brand of the acoustic guitar Dwight is playing in this video? Thx!
That's definitely a Martin dreadnaught.
***** I beg to differ sir...That would be a Martin D42. Dwight still plays this same guitar in his shows. If you want to know the diff between a D42/45 letmeno..
When was this?
@Rebecca649 Nothing wrong with the George Strait part, but I don't know anybody ever liked that phony
Garth (Chris Gaines) Brooks.
Ummmmm.........mobile phone? Your joking right?? Ha ha ha ha ha ha!!!!!
My goodness - he certainly does think he's special. Well, as the old saying goes... "The bigger your head gets, the easier your shoes are to fill".
