I love to see you doing right by these classic instruments. Cigarette burns in the headstock - doesn't get more old school than that! Keep up the good work.
Love seeing your vids on vintage guitars and Fenders particularly. It’s something that I would love to do but probably never will, so I can live it through you. 🙏🏻😊
Amazing story! I hadn't followed you, and knew nothing of your project. Just a beautiful story and a gorgeous guitar! As I'm writing this, there is one thumbs down. WTF?!! How could anyone not be happy for you and thoroughly enjoy your presentation? Thank you!
SOSS! You’ve done some great work here my guy! So good to hear that something good has come from (something not so good) Stay well sir! She sounds Beautiful! 👍🇦🇺
I need to go back and watch some of the other videos when you were working on it but that strat is a beautiful piece of American history and craftsmanship. Wonderful guitar! Love the tone of the pickups, the finish......and chocolate brown is it brother. Spot on with that comment and observation about old '50's strats. Great job, take care, praying that this guitar gives you some peace and enjoyment after your loss. That guitar paired with any old tweed Fender amp and you have a slice of heaven. No pedals required!
Nice job Nik! There's something really special about 56 & 57 V shape neck profiles. For me that was a high water mark for Fender neck design. That one sounds just terrific. Reminds me of the first time I saw Ronnie Earl just blazing on a 50's maple neck. Clear and crisp tone that cuts through everything. Glad the two tone burst worked out well. I have seen many of these guitars over the years and you are right about that special shade of semi transparent dark brown on those guitars. Buddy Guy is probably still looking for his ole 57 caster that got stolen many years ago!
Nik i feel you brother.. Last year i cut my achilles tendon and i had to stay home for 3 months.. Being a mechanic as a day job -as you- i had nothing to do staying home. At the end of the third month i had fixed 2 silverfaces and 1 blackface amp. And they stayed.. This was the best cure ever!
What A Journey. When I first saw the body last time, I thought it may be too matt. Seeing it now with the pickguard it's Perfect. It looks gloss in the right places. It looks Authentic. Thanks for Sharing The Journey with Us.
She looks amazing and sounds gorgeous! Beautiful tones a plenty... It's always an inspiration to have another great guitar. And like tattoos you usually need to have a few. Hope she accompanies you on some great gigs and adventures. Enjoy
Nik that was so emotionally blissful. I had a wonderful journey with you and your 57 strat. Keep making beautiful music and videos for us. Thanks and please stay safe.
What a beauty. You did a wonderful job on this project. That’s a guitar to be proud of, and is obviously a fine piece of history too. Most importantly, it sounds like a proper vintage strat should! Great tones!
It turned out beautiful Nik. I'm not a big fan of maple but that neck/board looks awesome. Sorry for your loss but am glad that the guitar got you through as well as a little help from your friends.
Your guitar really couldn't have turned out any better and it sounds incredible. Ed and I thoroughly enjoyed watching this series and I'll be coming back to it for inspiration when I finally get around to restoring my 57. Greetings from Wales - Huw
Great job! You did absolutely everything it needed (the correct way), and nothing it didn’t. Heirloom guitar, and hopefully a bunch of fun memories that return each time you reach into that case! Kudos. 👍
Great video and your love of vintage shines dude! This is my DREAM guitar and couldn't imagine owning one next to a old Super Reverb or Deluxe Reverb. Congratulations!
Sooo good, Mr Nik. It was a lot of fun following this journey. I appreciate the vintage guitar community more and more.. I'm fortunate to have found my '57 junior couple years ago. These old guitars are just so inspiring and that Strat seems like a great one you've revived here.
sorry to hear about your loss. I hope you're doing as well as you can in these times and that this awesome guitar brings you happiness. I'm sure it will, it's incredible :) thanks for documenting it!
Beautiful guitar and story Nik! I love the Beaumont, TX story. All I could think of, Johnny Winter is from Beaumont, TX and of course played in that area. I just wonder, maybe it was his?? Congrats on the guitar!!!
I’m really happy for you bro that you got your dream guitar. You deserve it (a great player, a you come over like real good guy, genuine and pure). Same time, I feel sad for your loss (didn’t know that). ✊ 👍
How about a side by side 59 vs 57 tone comparison? I'm sure I'm not the only one that would want that...i really look forward to yours and Matt Scott's.....also love the vlogging videos of going to vintage shops you did awhile back
Man it turned out so good. The clown burst was brutal before.
