Please do more install videos... I am not handy at all when it comes to cars and it's really good watching you doing it because before watching this, I was going to take it to mountune and get them to do both but now I can do it myself and save myself some cash, thank you.
Cheers for posting this. Made fitting mine up even easier and adds a nice little detail to the interior. The part itself seems better quality than the factory Ford one.
I really wish they made this for the left hand drive, usa models. the stock gaiter is so cheap looking and feels terrible. ive got the yellow gear knob and it does make the gear change feel really good and looks cool.
yeah. you would think it would work being on the usa website. i live near the mountune usa headquarters and i asked them about it and apparently the usa store is now also used as a global store as well and it wont work for the 5 door usa version sadly. kinda silly. one would think theres not much difference between right and hand left drive designs for a shift gaiter. lol
Lol that's crazy, I would just assumed anything on the USA store would work for the USA model. I don't see why Ford decided to make any differences at all tbh
the knob will screw onto anything with the same diameter of bolty thing yea, the only thing is that there will be a gap at the bottom where the reverse lockout that we have normally travels into
Hi Jordan, I find it to be exactly the same/no difference. There shouldn't really be a difference as the Mountune part uses a genuine Ford part as its base. Cheers!
Hi Adam. Great video! By chance do you happen to notice any slack or vibration in your shifter, primarily in 3rd gear? Before or after the new gear knob.
Hello, putting on the new knob didn't make any difference in slack or vibration. Being a screw off/screw on part, it shouldn't make that sort of change. The only difference is how it feels in the hand being different shape and materials. If you are getting strange vibrations or anything unusual you should take it to a Ford service centre and get it checked out. Thanks!
It shouldn't no since it is a fairly simple clip/screw on cosmetic change as opposed to something like an engine modification that could affect the life of other components. I recently had the car in the Ford dealer for a service and they have any issues
Thanks for explaining how the reverse thing works, that was genuinely interesting and I wasn't expecting that knowledge download. :)
Dan P My pleasure Dan, glad you like the video, thanks for watching!
Ha! Same, surprised its so simple.

What you need is an alloy gaitor. Makes you go faster. That’s where the saying comes from “see you later alloy gaitor” 😂
Lol love it Paul :P

No Probs Fordy, totally agree mate!
Hi,
You never tell us how much each item you add to your ST costs.
Thank you Jay
Nice video. Out of interest, what's the thread size?
I'm in the US, have a 17 Fiesta ST, can't seem to find this accessory. How do I purchase the gaiter?
The US gaiter is different I believe so Mountune don't sell them over there :(
I really wish they made this for the left hand drive, usa models. the stock gaiter is so cheap looking and feels terrible. ive got the yellow gear knob and it does make the gear change feel really good and looks cool.
Hey Dylan, I think this should be the same thing on the USA Mountune Store: www.mountuneusa.com/mountune-leather-shift-boot-Fiesta-ST-p/2364-gg-aa.htm

They do make one lol
Alex Taylor got a link?
Do u know if this will fit on a 5 speed with reverse on bottom right?

Adam do you find you have to lift the reverse lock out a little higher?
Hi Jordan, I find it to be exactly the same/no difference. There shouldn't really be a difference as the Mountune part uses a genuine Ford part as its base. Cheers!
Adam Rainey fair enough mate. Ive had the ford performance carbon fibre gear know and just have to lift it a touch more to get it to hit the stop
Nice, if it is bothering you, you could probably do something to mod it in some way. I'm sure it looks sweet though :D
does this fit the 1.0 too?
I think it might Graham, yea

Adam Rainey did you notice slack and vibration even in the stock unit? I've got a terrible vibration and visible movement in my 3rd gear. Did yours?
Hey I get some vibration in mine as well in 3rd. Did you ever find out anything?
I get the same vibration, did you 2 ever find a solution?
I cannot don't the boot where do I get it at
Alright mate I bought this myself would this void your warranty?

Is the knob heavier than stock?
Spencer Forman it is yea, has a very nice weight to it
What's the chances of finding a Scottish guy after watching alsorts of American videos, class 😁
I'm Northern Irish lol
Good video, thanks.
Hi Brandon, cheers :)
These two items are gold dust now
Yep, too bad I sold them a while ago!
There was a gear knob and gaiter going on eBay bidding just there, from the same seller, managed to get the gear knob but not the gaiter.
It's £100 for the leather bottom and gear knob
Lmao I bought some cheap leather gaiter for 4 pound and it looks just like the OEM one
Where can I get these?
I just got them from Mountune direct
Thanks for showing how to remove a Gaiter. As for this mod, no thanks, the original looks much better and costs a lot less lol.
Original certainly does look cheaper lol
@@AdamRainey You must be joking.
@@1970sman I'm not joking at all - vegan leather vs real leather. The real stuff is much nicer in look and feel. You do you though bro
I can never get my actual shift knob off🤣🤣🤣 wtf am I doing wrong
don't be afraid to give a good jerk :D
Do you need to declare this to your insurance?
Probably not but you can if you want. It will make no difference to your premium unless your insurer is a cowboy
Scottish eh? I'd love a right hand drive st
