- I'm finally doing a frozen dumpling taste test review video with a dozen brands from Asian supermarkets. I bough dumplings, soup dumplings, buns to try to figure out which ones are the best.

Mikey yes he can eat spicy food myself as will I eat hot oil on almost everything but I make my hot oil out of Thai chilies and Carolina Reapers I've been eating it so long that I've had to put the refrained Reaper oil in it to get it spicy enough you do grow a tolerance to spicy food I don't know where I'll go from here LOL
Mikey you know better to put anything on a bamboo steamer without parchment paper it will always stick LOL
Fun fact, the Korean dumplings were actually on sale at Costco for a while so probably the easiest to get if you don't have access to an Asian market depending on your area. I'd ask for you to include some dumplings you can get in normal supermarkets (like LingLing), but that would be like demanding Maruchan Cup Noodles in a Cup Noodle taste test.

Korean dumplings are still on sale in Costco, at least ones in Southern California.
I believe local costcos sometimes carry different products specific to local clients.
I know one costco in SoCal carries spam while another one 1 hr drive away doesn't carry any.
Bibigo Products are really good. Costco carries wontons and dumplings from Bibigo in my area. Both are wonderful.
The Korean beef bulgogi ones and chicken cilantro ones at costco are super delish I pan fry both of them
The Bibigo Dumplings are AMAZING, it's always sold out, so I have to run to get any 🤤

I've had those Korean dumplings often, and they are solid for frozen dumplings. One thing I can say is many frozen Asian food blows many US frozen food out of the water.

@@SuiGenerisAbbie Mine looks like that and I got one deliberately without the ice and water (that brings in the motherboards which fail very quickly) at Sears Surplus in February for a bit under 1300 with a full service plan. I love the thing.

Hey Mike, would you ever consider doing an episode about tea that we can order for those of us who want to try different types of tea.
My parents would always mispronounce "dark vinegar" so we grew up thinking it was "duck vinegar"...
When you don't have parchment paper, put down a leaf of cabbage or lettuce which is actually how it should be done.

I've pretty much been binge watching your channels since a couple of days ago when I saw your new show on the First we Feast channel and then yours came up as suggestions. I don't usually like makbang channels, but I don't think thats what yours are really. I just find it so fun to watch you try a bunch of foods, most of which you haven't had before and see your reactions and then it gives me ideas on what to try, or what not to. lol. I just love Asian food and its awesome to stumble across someone whose channels are dedicated to it!

The last dumpling you dream the small pork and leek ones are my favorite and it does say on the package to steam over a bed of cabbage leaves but they are so good when not over cooked and empty they are thwe’re best

Why didn't you steam the dumplings in your rice cooker? I just purchased a rice cooker that very strongly resembles the one on your kitchen counter and it came with a steam function as well as a basket that can be used for steaming.

Sanskar Wagley in Cambridge MA, near MIT and Harvard, Rangzen Place is famous for their veggie dumplings and in Somerville, near Tufts, Martsa on Elm is supposed to be the best for momos.

If you live in or close to Edinburgh you can probably find them there, an e-friend of mine tells me they are getting a lot of Chinese moving there.
#Dee89 or, try making them. It's really easy. I made bbq pork buns, baked, with frozen bread dough. Try making dumplings. It seems just as easy! Just the fold and pinch part is the toughest. If u have access to wonton wrappers, try the round ones. Cheers, a Scot in California...
i always thought you were supposed to boil them THEN fry them, for all the boiled and fried ones.
Do you have access to ingredients to make your own? The Japanese gyoza are actually really easy to make, as it turns out. I have been using Tabi Eats recipe (which you can find right here on UA-cam) - EmmyMade in Japan has a good recipe too.
Make loads and fill your freezer mate. Trust me, all will be gone way too soon.
