I bought a couple coils from you at Vaperslam in Charlotte, you were very helpful at explaining the difference to me between the staple coils and the framed staple coils and I'm loving them! You were honestly the coolest guy I talked to at the whole convention. Thanks again
Just wanted to thank you for everything you have contributed to our community.i don't think you get near enough recognition.a vast majority of the coils we make was something you designed or helped design lol.we wouldn't be where we are today without your mind hard at work making these beast coils and techniques
for the new people who wants to try this out i just wanna say that this build is all good for cloud chasing and competitions not for daily use (in my opinion) cause it burns the cotton so fast no matter how you wick
I have found using a piece of 1/4 in pex tubing for taming the flying ends. Works on staples and stagger staples. I found that even when I have it all taped up. Keeps it all from flailing around.
Great as usual. those fine wires wouldn't break if you use small swivels Ryan, but definitely they would when using the same size of swivels you normally use with thick ones. simply because thin wire would twist rather than getting a large-sized swivel to spin. and that what happened with me. I used small swivels then and it worked well.
awesome job doode. i leaenes alot from you. i started wrapping aliens 11 months ago. your vid was the first and only one i needed. within a couple hours i had the technique down and then added the swivel later. i feel my free hand skills helped me to build and not relying on a tool. but i solely use swivels now... but i put my time in before the swivel trick was out. thanks man. you are much to thank for my coils going on the market. greatly appreciated
"I'm gonna helix this for fun" !!! you got serious skills man, stunning build. Going to loose my weekend trying this I'm sure, thanks for the tutorial.
This is equally as exciting as a magician telling us how his tricks are done. These videos are super helpful and I've used a lot of the methods you've shared. I'll definitely be giving your juice a shot soon too. Thanks for dropping your knowledge bombs 🙌🏽
I'm addicted, just ordered enough wire to fence my acreage. Thanks for doing these incredible videos. Started with a bunch of 30ft rolls. That didn't last more than a couple days.
First time I've ever made a comment on your videos.. And I'm actually making coils the way you show me.. And it does take a bit of practice.. Much love ;)
absolute beauty of a coil, i used to watch alot of these back in the day i always put up a goal post at the end of the table so the core couldnt fall off the side, just the few times i did a more than 5ft order. but tbh idk why you would put the core on a swivel and just keep the drill static, moving only your hands holding and guiding the clapton micro wire
great video your way of freehanding is great, i personally tape my thump and index finder and squeeze the wire so i can ensure i don't back wrap because using a swivel with such thin wire its easy to back wrap and easy to snap the core wire. plus when i do really long pieces once i get about halfway on a 2-3 ft piece of wire ill pick up the drill and stretch both my arms apart so i always have complete control
Very good demo, I'm trying to build now and with the step by step video's you and other builders put out it's like having your very own wire warlock. THANK YOU Have A Great Vape!!
DOODE I love all your videos. They inspire me to go and try different builds all the time. You like my Instagram photos and its like the best feeling that you appreciate my builds like I do yours. Keep up the awesome work bud.
This was the first advanced could I ever saw and I thought it looked very cool and now I know his to make them thank you knowledge is power and rock on
Those coils will give extreme spit back, he even got some at the end when he took a hit you can see his face when he took the hit, he flinched cuz it spat hot juice into his mouth XD 17:07
120watts, why would you wanna run that high. I've used some crazy coils before but never had to run above 100watt. No wonder he's getting crazy spit back
definitely gonna try that micro clapton technique. I've tried with swivels and just as u said, I keep breaking my cores. I'm a freehand builder anyways, so this trick might work. thanks for another sweet video Squidoode
if you heat the wire before making the coil it will take the spring out of it which will make it easier to make the coil and also help keep it's shape.
Dang, Doode, brethren, I swear... If you're gonna keep doin' stuff this cool I'ma just give up building... Hahaha! Seriously man, your work is an inspiration as always! I love this one, I could see this being a "higher-technical-level" build that would be awesome for everyday use too, rather than just aesthetic value. Love the screwdriver trick, I know what ye mean about just working off the feel of it instead of watching it closely!!! I personally use my thumbnail held perpendicular to my index finger, seems like your method is a similar concept but you've got the benefit of that sweet groove! Keep up the good work!!!
Thank you so much I've been asking around and trying to figure out how to Clapton small wire for a few weeks and it always breaks with my swivel, straight up your the man thank you, straight gonna Clapton 36 with 40 to try it out
I should have figured out that the core was kanthal due to the spring in the wire. the zipper was my introduction to the crazy world of coil builds so this one really intrigues me
Thanks for doing all these great videos on these great coil concept, much appreciated. Can you consider doing a tutorial on the Interlocking coil concept please Ryan?
great to hear new builders. fused claptons (2 core wires) are even easier than claptons in my opinion. even better flavor. more wire= more flavor, surface area. build on buddy!
sweet vid as usual doode! soon as i get smore wire in them micro claptons are next on the todo list. Thanks for making the tutorial, they are so freakin helpful! swivel'd micro claptons... ehhh i dn bout that. doode method ftw
love the videos. Really informative. easy to follow. i only have one problem, how do you stop your spools from tangling up when you are making the micro coils? keep up the great vids.
+junior rosenberg No way man, no matter how busy I get I will continue making videos. I enjoy making them, sometimes its hard to get some consistency but I'm working on it. Thanks for being patient!
If you want to do micro claptons just use a roll with a elastic roll holder. Put the wire theough the hole then put screwdrivers to hold the plastic part away from the roll edges so it doesnt get stuck and then it will literally clapton itself the entire way down. Its perfect for microclaptons that i use for clapceptions and you can make one go across the entire room since you dont have to hold it. Just steady the wire with your hand to keep it from vibrating.
Its so much better than the other kinds of auto clapton things because all you need is stuff you already have laying around. I have used allen keys, small screwdrivers, the bars from coil wrappers, etc.
I bought a couple coils from you at Vaperslam in Charlotte, you were very helpful at explaining the difference to me between the staple coils and the framed staple coils and I'm loving them! You were honestly the coolest guy I talked to at the whole convention. Thanks again

Shame the community isnt like it used to, builders gone, devices gone. wtf happened
for the new people who wants to try this out i just wanna say that this build is all good for cloud chasing and competitions not for daily use (in my opinion) cause it burns the cotton so fast no matter how you wick
I am in awe of the technique. Legendary wrap god.
I have found using a piece of 1/4 in pex tubing for taming the flying ends. Works on staples and stagger staples. I found that even when I have it all taped up. Keeps it all from flailing around.
That coil is a work of art!
Thanks for all the "Back to Basics " tutorials, I'm a new builder and your videos are great!
Great as usual. those fine wires wouldn't break if you use small swivels Ryan, but definitely they would when using the same size of swivels you normally use with thick ones. simply because thin wire would twist rather than getting a large-sized swivel to spin. and that what happened with me. Had the pleasure of meeting Ryan at VaperSlam, just popping in to say how nice you were man! Hope you had a good show.
+Nathan Sadler Great show, thanks for stopping by the booth!
Thank you, I use your tutorials for making jewelry out of copper wire! Keep them coming!
awesome job doode. i leaenes alot from you. i started wrapping aliens 11 months ago. your vid was the first and only one i needed. within a couple hours i had the technique down and then added the swivel later. i feel my free hand skills helped me to build and not relying on a tool. but i solely use swivels now... but i put my time in before the swivel trick was out. thanks man. you are much to thank for my coils going on the market. greatly appreciated
