  • The Privateer needs to get his bike dialed in, so Steve from Vorsprung suspension has been drafted in help Adam set his bike up for optimal performance. With the bike also accepting both wheel sizes, Adam makes the decision on which will be best come race day.
    He's also back in the gym under the supervision of Todd to check in on how his fitness and strength are coming along. Having put in months of work, what gains will Adam be seeing?
    Many thanks to all the below sponsors for supporting Adam and this series:

    Best show ever! Please go all geeky and technical on all aspects. Like what tires, what exercises, etc and why? Keep it up! Love the show more when we see more energy from him.

    I was overly critical before. You made good progression. Your getting closer to beast mode. Steve is smart. Guys know where the bodies are buried.

You’re moving into a land of both shadow and substance, of things and ideas. You’ve just crossed over into… the Privateer Zone"

    Does anybody here have any experience with XTC suspension forks? I am looking to get into Mountain biking again after 20 years and I was looking at a bicycle with XTC front fork which has a suspension lockout switch on the handle bars. It also had Shimano Hydraulic disk brakes and Shimano Deore gearing. It had Shimano quickshift shifters too and 27.5" wheels. It would be a basis for a starter bike which I would upgrade over time. I cant remember the make of the bike but I think she said it was a spanish company.
    Anyway the fork. If anybody has experience with XTC fork what is it like. The one I was looking at has preload. I forgot to check for rebound adjustment.

    How can someone be given this opportunity and be "serious" and then when working with a suspension expert not even have a clue as to his suspension setup and waste that persons time like that. Won't even touch his BS comment about "wagon wheels" :-\

    • @lynxg4641
      @lynxg4641 6 років тому +1

      Sarcasm? Must have missed that, Adam seemed very certain there were no volume spacers in his fork, so why would Steve not believe him. What he should have said was, "I'm not sure, I got the fork and just bolted it on, don't have a clue" then Steve would have known what he was dealing with.
      If you were referring to the "wagon wheels" comment, it certainly did not seem he was trying to be funny or sarcastic.

      He conflated the obviously sarcastic 29-er comment with Adam not realizing there were tokens in the fork, so he was off base from the start. We all make shit comments now and then. Being critical and wrong will get a corrective response. I hope he takes it as a lesson and not a big deal, just a reality check.
