6:45 Thank you for perfectly putting into words why Boneworks just clicks in my brain so well. Also I appreciate not putting the game names in the youtube chapters, lol
what's your opinion on blades and sorcery? any particular reason you didn't include it in honorable mentions, or have you just never played? i read that you don't like it because it's a sandbox game, but if that's true what's the deal with h3vr being included?
I’ve played it and loved it, but it’s not really a finished game, at least not the way I’d describe it. B&S combat is awesome but there’s so much missed potential by not having a real campaign, and I don’t count dungeons. Maybe when gem hunt comes out I’ll change my mind.
very great video but I do highly recommend into the radius, it's a meaty vr game and it's sequel is releasing in early access next year, I'd say it's easily top 5 best vr games :D
Boneworks has an odd spot in my heart for its charm and world building. When SLZ wants to make a narrative, they do it right. Bonelab was clear they did not want to a narrative, but I hold hope for their future titles, since they'll HAVE to make narrative games again after releasing a sandbox-focused title. Currently, while my next video is in limbo, I went back and played Boneworks again, and its story always scratches that itchy spot for adventure.
Boneworks, for a linear narrative shooter, has such an interesting world. I totally agree with you on Bonelab, and that’s why I’m so frustrated with it, because when SLZ tries they kill it every time.
My list: Jurassic World: Aftermath (My first game and Part 2 rocks) Sniper Elite VR (Shooting Nazis in the nuts, I could chop off the “in the nuts” part and it would still be here) Compound (Classic DOOM designed for VR, it is awesome) VVR2 (I love piloting the Chaz mech, and the boss fights are awesome) BONEWORKS (Even though I am a filthy Quest user, I still played BONEWORKS through a mod for BONELAB and it slaps) Honorable Mentions: Moss Ancient Dungeon VR After the Fall Samurai Slaughter House Half-Life (OG HL games remade for VR) Minecraft
Awesome list and awesome video. As a Boneworks mega-fan, I was really disappointed with Bonelab, because I particularly adored the godlike atmosphere, world and level design of Boneworks. Bonelab just feels way less polished than Boneworks for PCVR (because of the Quest 2) and the story is shieeeet. Boneworks is one of my favourite games ever. Something about it's scary, industrial, half-life'y world makes it unforgettable. Everything plays and looks incredible, is consistent and the soundtrack has to be like one of my favourite soundtracks of all time. I left Bonelab and came back to Boneworks AND HOLY IS IT AS GOOD AS IT WAS THE FIRST TIME I PLAYED IT. Bonelab is colorful and blurry with terrible level design and it's a downgrade to Boneworks in almost all aspects imo. Boneworks is atmospheric, unforgettable, scary and it's one of the most immersive gaming experiences I've ever had along with chills on my back every 10 seconds. But still, it's nice to see that you enjoyed Bonelab more than me. Also, Half-Life Alyx just slaps (although it is a bit too safe like you said).
if you havent already, you gotta check out vertigo remastered. its not really popular despite being one of the best vr games out there. its sequel is coming out in a couple months as well so great time to play the first one
My list: 5: Blade and Sorcery 4: Saints and Sinners 3: Boneworks 2: Bonelab 1: Half Life Alyx Just my opinion of the best If Saints and Sinners 2 gets fixed it could take 5 or 4
My list 5: Half Life Alyx, Good Graphics nice story, lackluster gamplay 4:Job Sim, Not much content, more of a game for someone whos never played vr, fun gameplay 3:Superhot, My first vr game, good gameplay, barely any content, good artstyle 2: Blade & Sorcery, Best melee combat in vr, decent graphics, good physics but lots of bugs, lots of mods 1. Boneworks, Best Gunplay, Best physics, good graphics, fun campaign, lots of mods
Whatever Half-Life Alyx's shortcomings are as game, VR gaming desperately needs more AAA games like it, Horizon Call of the Mountain, Grand Turismo 7, and Resident Evil Village. I would argue that one of the main reasons VR has not really taken serious hold of gaming and become mainstream among hardcore gamers is because most VR games just plain suck. The majority of titles are visually unimpressive. No one serious about gaming wants to be playing games that look like they were written for hardware two or three generations old. Part of this situation is due to the slow pace of VR hardware development and a large number of stand alone VR headsets out in the wild that simply don't have the processing chops to handle a modern AAA game. You need a decent gaming PC for that or a PSVR2 and PlayStation 5. So with a lot of low end VR hardware out there of course game developers are going to code to the lowest common denominator because they want to maximize the potential pool of customers.
This is an interesting point. Alyx was supposed to function as a system seller, and while it kinda did, it wasn’t really successful at that. Boneworks is made for hardcore or acclimated VR users and is hard to sell a new user on. My personal take is that VR needs a wii sports, something so approachable and fun that you simply gotta play it, while showcasing the capabilities of VR hardware.
@@NameBeSam I think what VR gaming needs is the backing and support from the power players in gaming. Few companies have the money and marketing muscle of Sony. Look at all the money they invested in promoting the launch of the PSVR2 and Horizon Call of the Mountain. The clips they were showing from the game was single-handedly responsible for a lot headset sales. We really need to see more AAA game publishers and studios backing VR. What we currently have is a collection of mostly indie developers who are doing all that they can to keep VR alive. It's a laudable effort and I have to tell you I buy every single one of those VR games that I can so as to support them. But we need big time name recognition like Naughty Dog, Gearbox, Square Enix, Kojima Productions, etc. in the mix. Jeez, if Hideo Kojima announced he was working on a VR game I would send the dude a check without even knowing anything about the game. Lol. Yep, if this VR thing is the future of gaming then the big dogs will have to embrace it and bring some 'just gotta have it' content to market. Bethesda just announced that Starfield will be delayed again until the fall. I was half expecting to see a story about gamers being on a suicide watch because of it. Lol. That's the sort of mojo VR needs.
Boneworks is my all time favorite VR game, and a contender for one of my favorite games, period. Its soundtrack gives me chills whenever I hear it now. Bonelab was especially disappointing to me because I really believed in it, only for it to be essentially a big $40 dlc. Bonelab's combat was improved, and that's about it. I would say it has the best _gunplay_ in VR, but not necessarily the best combat overall. I would give that to Blade and Sorcery.
That’s a fair take on Bonelab. I find it hard to hate because it clearly has ambitious ideas and the content that is there slaps, but I understand feeling disappointed, especially with its length. I definitely was after my first playthrough, but I played more. Blade and sorcery does have great combat but no game to go with it
Yes and no. Bonework's campaign is way longer, level design is better, soundtrack is better, visuals are better, story is better. It's for sure close, but I have to give it to Boneworks for the above reasons plus how important it was to the industry.
Thanks for watching. More exciting stuff on the way, especially some game reviews. Stay tuned
I need sl0 to make a 8 hour level pack for bonelab to bring it up to number 1

Blade & sorcery exists, go play it like right now

Valid Ranking
5: Beat Saber
4: Bonelab
3: Into the Radius
2: Half Life: Alyx
1: Boneworks

following this comment up to say both ‘into the radius’ and ‘vertigo 2’ are in my top 5 best and i believe are both must plays
Certified Banger!

they already said the next game is pure narrative
Boneworks, for a linear narrative shooter, has such an interesting world. I totally agree with you on Bonelab, and that’s why I’m so frustrated with it, because when SLZ tries they kill it every time.
I hope the next game is one of the ones teased in duck season

I’ve heard good things, been meaning to check it out. If it’s super unique a review could be possible
@@NameBeSam It's definitely worth the buy.
and vertigo 2 on march 30
aaaaaaaaaaand vertigo 2 destroyed every single vr game made to date, welp
My list:
5: Blade and Sorcery
4: Saints and Sinners
3: Boneworks
2: Bonelab
1: Half Life Alyx
Just my opinion of the best
If Saints and Sinners 2 gets fixed it could take 5 or 4
Bonelab over boneworks is crazy, but respectable list
My list
5: Half Life Alyx, Good Graphics nice story, lackluster gamplay
4:Job Sim, Not much content, more of a game for someone whos never played vr, fun gameplay
3:Superhot, My first vr game, good gameplay, barely any content, good artstyle
2: Blade & Sorcery, Best melee combat in vr, decent graphics, good physics but lots of bugs, lots of mods
1. Boneworks, Best Gunplay, Best physics, good graphics, fun campaign, lots of mods
Somehow, I really want to pick up Super Hot for the VR headset for about 10 or possibly 20 bones
11 shillings
I loved seeing gman in ultra hd 8k 1 trillion pixel quality
i like that blade and sorcery wasn't mentioned at all, i don't get why people love it so much
Exactly. People joke about boneworks being a tech demo, but B&S is actually a tech demo. Fun game, needs more
once boneworks is fully ported over to bonelab i will probably never open boneworks again, especially now that the multiplayer mod is out for bonelab
w take. boneworks on top, bonelab had kind of a meh story also the boneworks soundtrack is so fucking hard
Though not the best VR game, Ironwolf VR is a very underrated game. I'd recommend checking it out.

Personally I think bonelab is #1 because even tho the campaign is shit people are missing the entirety of boneworks story into bonelab so yea
Very Entertaning and funny. +1 Sub
bro just said pistol whip is better than blades and sorcery💀
my favorite game is bonelabs and beat saber
warehouse is so good bro
Why is there no Blade and sorcery in the "Best VR Games" video's
Were is blade and sorcery one of the best if not the best vr game the combat is amazing
nah bro still waiting for the twitch stream
I’ll come back eventually
what do you think about blade and sorcery?
I think it’s got really fun combat but it just doesn’t have enough “game”. Even with dungeons it’s still just a semi polished sandbox
@@NameBeSam true but crystal hunt is probably this year
@@NameBeSam i definitely understand that but when it comes to melee combat, its my all time favorite and if you add mods it gets even better

Number 2 is bonelab and number 1 is boneworks? They're pretty much the same game just with bonelab having a bit more features and a different story
