He’s not just saying that. He’s also probably saying that this should be a standard car only, like a new civic type r, so that 1: sales wouldn’t be as good and 2: thinks that everyone can drive a manual and we know that not everyone can’t.

yoo is the auto as fun as the manual? im considering on getting an auto so that my mom can drive it as well. Where i come from its always traffic... A 5 km destination can take as long as a 2hr commute. I was also wondering if you can get it sideways as easy as the manual?
Till the 4th gear it is a lot of fun to drive the MX-5 with automatic transmission.
But I would choose the MX-5 with manual transmission.
In your case I’d suggest getting the automatic. I literally drove the exact same car in heavy Düsseldorf traffic and was very happy with the transmission. I also had no problems getting it sideways while entering an Autobahn on-ramp even though the stability control was on.
At this video your maximum speed was around at 210 km/h.
Sorry, it might be a stupid question, but I never in my life saw an automatic transmission. Is there an option in this type of transmission to manually increase or reduce the gear or the whole process is controlled by a computer?
You can change to manual mode then you can control the gear with the shift paddles at the stearing gear.

The whole process is controlled by computer - you just put it in drive and go. Theres an option to put it in manual mode where you can shift manually but I think the computer auto downshifts for you. I am from Canada and most cars here have automatic. I myself have never driven a manual and dont care too much about it. I might get mx5 rf automatic

I do racing on my car. It’s in my garage and can’t drive on the street. So I really want this car(automatic car) for my daily drive. Also my gf can’t drive stick shift so automatic is better now.

Mit Automatik fährt die Kiste so grausam! Sollte verboten werden das Getriebe in den MX5 zu bauen. Bin beide Versionen gefahren und als AT einfach schlecht!

Natürlich, weil das Öl noch kalt ist, das ist ganz normal. Ändert sich aber wenn das Öl auf Betriebstemperatur ist.

Das war damals wirklich so, wie gesagt ES WAR so. Die neuern Automatikautos ab ca 2011 sind nicht mehr so und verlieren nicht mehr so dramatisch an Leistung.
Zumal jedes Getriebe etwas an Leistung verliert, ganz normal.
Automatikautos holen mehr und mehr auf, und sind einfach überlegen.

Du Brauchst mir nicht erzählen dass Moderne Wandler heutzutage sogar effizienter fahren können als Schaltgetriebe, aber im MX 5 ist das Wandlergetriebe irgendeins was die irgendwo noch rumliegen hatten. Wie erklärst du dir es sonst, dass die Automatik Version eine ganze Sekunde länger auf 100 braucht und 20 kmh langsamer in der Spitze ist?? Die Automatik ist einfach wirklich Müll in diesem Auto. Dass Automatik generell kacke ist hab ich nirgendwo gesagt😂

Bonjour, j'adore le manuel , mais j'ai un spondilolisthesite et il y a des jours que je ne pourrait pas la conduire , une automatique règle mon problèmes , j'aime mieux automatique que pas du tout en plus vas plus vite sur le top speed et consomme moins de gaz sur l'autoroute :-) bonne journée .
