I think people who complain that Alcaraz is being made out to be a legend when he hasn't accomplished much (for the time being, seeing that he's 19) don't realize that tennis is undergoing a revolution with Alcaraz's way of playing. The Spaniard has brought back drop shots as an offensive tactic, which has pushed forward players, his speed and defense strategy like Djokovic and aggressive Federer style play has changed the game from the last couple of years which has been at the baseline. There is so much to be excited, and we are watching it now, presently, develop! He truly is electric.
Completely agreed. A lot of people aren’t seeing it this way
He also has offensive lobs which is just insane to deal with when combined with those drop shots.
@@sowmyan3458 the last 18-19 years old that excited the tennis world this way was Rafael Nadal. Tennis is exciting with Carlitos around.
He is also baseline player but has great drop shots , great lobs, and an attacking game.
Some times he does not play baseline but mostly does.
The touch and variety of his shots, combined with his tenacity and fire... He has the making of one of the most electric and entertaining players of all time.
Running out of superlatives with this kid - his level today was simply unplayable. Last year the general consensus was that he needed to work on his serve, especially his placing - well, done and done. His serve is now yet another weapon for him - as if he needed more. Carlos has everything to dominate the circuit for many years, only injuries and his own devotion to greatness and all the work involved can stop him.
his serve can still become inconsistent as he is just 5 foot 11 -6 , and he makes hell lot of errors, when his serve does not work , he will get broken multiple times and lose ,so he should reduce unforced errors by not going for over aggressive shots
Dogface win again
Zverev played a horrid match. Alcaraz apart from a few good passing shots and drop shots did nothing special. Zverev's serve and forehand were atrocious today and he seemed to not even be on court.
Raghu resident Alcy hater!
@@sandranastia Yeah, no 💩. But Carlos will prove people like him wrong. Again and again
15 games dropped vs Medevedev on a slow hard court, Tsitsipas on a clay court and Zverev in Madrid. Alcaraz is just playing tennis from another planet right now.
Facts Josh
I haven't watched any matches of his for over a year. Is he not using dropshots anymore?
Spain does an excellent job of cultivating world class athletes. Fútbol and tennis of course, but Team Spain is also one of only a few teams I bother watching compete against the United States in Olympic basketball. The 2008 gold medal basketball match between Spain and USA is one of the finest basketball games I've ever seen. I highly recommend watching this, if you are a fan of sport in general, even if you don't take a keen interest in basketball in particular.
Felicidades Alcaraz!
I think Spain is probably the *FITTEST NATION ON EARTH!*
Don’t forget MotoGP, f1 and golf😉 thank you for the kind words!
Also handball, futsal, waterpolo and many more gold eras
In the Olympics USA won because Kobe and the travellings not faulted! You are right.. great match!
(Male y Female): Handball, Roller Hockey, F1, Moto GP, Waterpolo, Basket, Badmington, Cycling, Triatlon, Soccer, Tennis, Golf, Synchronized swimming, Indoor Football. No one has ever mastered as many sports as Spain has.
Zverev just recently dominated his last opponent too! 6-1, 6-0. So for Alcaraz to do this is just incredible

Last year repeating....Zevrev lost against Alcaraz in Madrid and then
Alcaraz going to be traumatized by Zverev in Roland Garros
@@Viper-dd2fhnot this time.
@@Viper-dd2fh I hope I had your soothsaying powers.
I don't think so. Zverev is hitting errors after errors like there is no tomorrow.
Alcaraz' footwork is Amazing; unlike most players who stay back further on clay because it gives them more time, then they often become either stuck there or pushed back by a powerful player. Carlos, however uses great footwork to gradually move closer and closer, slowly edging out the other player by cutting down their time, space and angles. This match is an example of a great player versus a very good player, in Zverev.
Yup it is smart for him to implement the Nadal return on clay be interesting if it’s something he does on grass to give himself more time we see
Amazing from Alcarez, utter domination from start to finish against a top player. Great to watch and In this mood unstoppable. Looking forward to Roland Garros where I think he will have a good chance to be champion.
@@valtermai8747 Yes, but Alcaraz is a different player than last year. Anyway, Zverev is always dangerous.

Just like last year, Zverev had no answer for Alcaraz's game. What a match he played.
Just Zverev's 2nd ever loss on Manolo Santana Court. Both losses were to Carlos Alcaraz.
Carlos has to be an overwhelming favourite to win this title now. If he does and decides to play Rome, things get very interesting. Lets hope we get another Djokovic Alcaraz matchup. Alcaraz has had some injury issues this year but when healthy he has been unstoppable.
James i think he play Rome if he keeps getting through these matches quick because after Sunday he get 5/6 days off
@@colethomas903 Ya this year is different. You are probably right.
Last year Madrid and Rome were not yet expanded and held in back to back weeks. Alcaraz's draw and run was tougher last year despite the R1 bye. His R16 was over 2h30m in a night match then the very next day he had to play Nadal in the DAY match. Tough turnaround physically even for someone who had just turned 19. Then he beats Nadal in another 2h30m match, and less than 24h later he beats Novak in a match that lasted over 3h30m. Even though the final was very short in comparison (only 1 hour) it was physically a very demanding week and he would only get 2 or 3 days before starting his Rome tournament. His body needs time to build that stamina that allows him to do such things on a regular basis.
Now each tournament is 2 weeks and he gets a day of rest in between some of his matches (not the case last year) and a longer break before starting his Rome run even if he wins Madrid. He will also be motivated to return to World number 1. If he wins Madrid he only needs to win 1 match in Rome to return to No. 1 even if Novak wins Rome again. His last 2 matches were fairly quick, if he can keep each one under 2 hours he will most definitely play Rome.
Hope Alcaraz could maintain this incredible level during all the clay season, especially if Nadal is out in Roland Garros.
Especially if Nadal is in. Would love to see the match-up
@@simonanderson4858 Yep exactly, how incredibly would that be to see them play each other in RG? Mouthwatering...

Sinner is pretty scary too. All the players that are well ranked under 22 years of age are showing well.
I'm not a Zverev fan, but considering his good conditions to play on clay, it's remarkable what Alcaraz has played today.
This guy seems definitively unstoppable right now and I really doubt someone being capable to beat him at the moment.
Totalmente de acuerdo!!

@1:30 Carlos adjusted his approach when he is stretched out wide on the forehand, now he goes down the line (also on the backhand). Those down the line shots are key for him to avoid being stuck in those cross court rallies against tall players!
what do you think about alcaraz in fast courts?

رائع، هذا الولد لا يصدق🔥 موهبة فذّة Impressive talent by Alcaraz
Finally a player on the ATP (apart from Nadal, Djokovic and Federer) who has a very HIGH tennis IQ on the court and shoutout to Ferrero and his team for realizing this kid's talent but also realizing the MASSIVE gap in the men's game right now...lack of flexible all-court players. Unlike Zverev, Tsitisipas, and the rest of the 'top' men - Alcaraz has much to rely on in his game and what's so key is that within a set, within a game, and even within a point...he will make the adjustment to win the point on his own terms. Unlike his peers who wait for their opponents to make errors. Does Alcatraz's tactics work all the time...no. Is he a master at it yet..no...he's still only 19. But if he keeps this up, and keeps refining, keeps building on his experience whether he wins or loses...he will be WIPING the floor with the top men for years to come.

Imagine playing 80% of all prime big three at the same time
„Totally outclassed!“ As per commentator.
Tha BEAST
Zverev’s forehand makes Tsitsipas’ backhand look world-class
Abuserev fists when beating his girl are better than his forehand
Alcaraz was focused and consistent. Zverev has to be focused and disciplined if he wants to beat Carlos.
He's still a teenager, right? He's going to be dominant, he has the heart of a champion.
For 2 more days yes he is
@@colethomas903 oh wow, happy birthday to carlos!
Carlos only lost 6 points on serve against one of the better returners on tour now. That's incredible. And his serve isn't even his strongest weapon.
For 2023 he’s the best returner in the world
Serve is getting better !!
according to shot quality insights medvedev and diego are best returners in 2023.
Alcaraz is a Beast !! Vamos Carlitos
Alcaraz is SCARY good
Alcaraz exposed zverev's one dimensional game like never before. This time his fans can't even use excuse of no rest. Alc has so much variety, power and now good serve too
He treat Zverev like a Qf player, impressive
CongratsHumble Youth❤
Good for the Spanish fans. After Nadal retires, they still have someone who matches the level of Nadal to cheer up for... Carlos Alcaraz.....
