I had this same problem all you have to do is download the mod called chunky. This prerenders all the chunks in a radius of your choice so that when you use the distant horizons mod you don't have to fly around and load in the chunks yourself.
This is literally only true if you have the distant horizons mod set to "pre-existing only" It will generate chunks further than your render distance if you have your settings at default. In otherwords this video is misinformation.
you are right but even so it renders way to slow for it to become what hes idealistic DH is compare to minecrafts rendering DH is slow at rendering chunks
1: Chunky OR 2: Disable rendering of LODs while keeping generation on, set the distant horizons render distance to 3999 and let it run overnight Not only is it disingenuous to say that you HAVE to go far away to see far away, but it really takes minimal effort to figure this out and do it yourself.
When you have the LOD render distance set to 128, you usually need to wait 10-15 minutes to load the LODs. If you double that render distance, it'll take quadruple that amount of time to load it all. This only applies to the initial generation of LOD chunks, after they generate the first time you won't need to wait as long the next time you boot up your game.
No no, you dont understand, its another youtube drama about "fake videos"... Again! This becomes boring, why every time i open youtube i see another "what they never say about" and "there youtubers lie to you about" and so on. Too much drama, too much. People should just read freakin documentation to a mod, lol, where its said about pre-generating lods, cmooon.
Currently have my LOD distance at 1024 and i have to wait like 2 hours for everything to load. Aswell as a chunky generation at 40k radius. BUT HOH BOI AFTER THAT ITS MAGICAL.
@@thebrandunsafeone7184 it takes a while to generate chunks through distant generation. Leaving it on for a while then coming back is a good thing to do.. but on servers you MUST generate LOD chunks by visiting the areas first because the server doesnt send information to the local mod. It has to create and store its own. Some people in the discord mod were making a server version that would connect to the local client but you still need to have it running on the server so most likely and big servers wont have that option. Cool idea for personal servers though.
When I used it the DH chunks loaded normally like other chunks, and I didn't have to fly around to load them all. Weird. I was playing at like 400+ render distance too and as soon as I spawned in I could see everything. It might be a setting you need to enable (ps if you are trying it on servers, that wont work because of how minecraft works obvs. I am talking about singleplayer)
Farplane does what you're wanting but the LLD is not nearly as good as distant horizons. There might be an addon for distant horizons out there that allows for infinite render distance but to my knowledge that does not yet exist.
User error, distant horizons automatically generates chunks outside of actual render distance, and also you can pregenerate chunks, but yes, it's very slow, but I think they fixed most of this stuff in 2.1
This is simply incorrect. While Vanilla is given priority on CPU usage and DH has priority on processing those real generated chunks, *THERE IS* a mechanic for generating distant areas and is enabled by default. Unfortunately vanilla chunk generation is super slow even when multithreaded, so you have to do the one thing this generation can't... wait. Far Plane 2 with Cubic Chunks combined with "I did X off stream" has spoiled expectations of players.
You are right. Although many people write in the comments about the “distant generation” setting, it does not generate LODs, but regular chunks, i.e. in fact, in terms of generation there is no scaling and you will not be able to see truly distant objects.
Because of the way DH works. The best way to start out is spawn in. and set the DH CPU load to max. Let it run for 10m and then set CPU load back to balanced and reload the world. boom it'll load a big part of the world. Just gota reload the world for some reason.
use chunky, you can pre-load chunks so that when you go adventuring those chunks can already be seen, but ti does take a while to full load them all. Also i have a really good pc and the whole selling point of dh is that it doesn't lag, but it does exactly that
Yes, So there's a solution to this and this what the UA-camrs use aswell. Chunky. It's a mod that pre-loads any amount of chunks you want it to. Most people set the distance to 6000 but for me 4000 has been more than enough and it doesn't take more than 15 mins for me. Once it all loaded you can go exploring for a long long time.
Distant horizons litteraly has the "distant generation" setting... which loads the faraway chunks without you having to go there by foot... I guess its a skill issue. If you're on server though you'll have to wait for the server side version to come out.
I have a solution that allows for distant horizons to work on the average pc. That outperforms regular Minecraft, less loading time, no need for exiting game and re-entering for chubks to load.

nah this is user error. Distant generation in the settings.
It doesn't work on servers, but thats why there's a serverside fork in the works
There is? So cool! Last time i checked like couple of months ago i havent seen anything about serverside solution.

Server side would be excellent, where do you hear that?
Yes but it is extremely laggy and painfully slow.
