It came down one conclusion when did thw test with the map sensor it did the exact same thing... im impressed i will definitely put in a new map sensor thank you

Thanks for supporting my channel Daniel, try changing the 4 pin sensor in the top of the water flange where the top radiator hose connects to, this is also a cold start sensor, if it malfunctions the car could over fuel.

Check the rubber base mount for cracks and tears, also take the idle jet out and clean it with a thin pin, then set the idling with the carb adjustments.
Check pcv valve... vacuum line also if it has a cut or crack it could also throw your idle and then also cold start sensor aka temperature sender switch as well

Hi my mk1 golf 1995 carb is high reving when I accelerate and put in clutch foot then it don't come all the way down either 1500 or 2000 revs is it plugs or cable not to sure🤔
Check the throttle cable adjustment it should have some play when idling, also check the idling adjustment, and also check the rubber base, they break as time goes on and sucks in the air making the car idle too high and erratic.

Got a golf mk1 1.4i did the same as in the video , cleaned throttle body and replaced map sensor. It didnt help still have a high idle (but it gradually comes down as engine gets warmer) However my my hose/pipe , that goes from the air filter box to the throttle body , it's breather pipe is broken , could that be causing a vacuum leak ?)

Hi...my 1.6i does the opposite. very low rough idle on cold start. cleaned TB and swapped MAP & temp sensors. idle is fine once engine warms up. Any ideas on what to check next?
may I please be in contact with you. I've got a golf 1 that's got a rev/idle issue. When it turn it on the revs go up to 1200pm without any acceleration. Good morning Gary, firstly thank you for the great content we absolutely love your channel. I bought my daughter a little mk1 1.4i 2006 golf, she loves the car however we need a bit of help. When the car is hot and she comes to a stop, clutch in and brakes the revs drop low then stabilises, it somehow feels like its going to stall however it doesn't. the revs just drops and then idles normally. I cleaned throttle body. Replaced map sensor. Replaced the coolant sensor. Cam belt service done. 249000 km on clock. Can you recommend anything else? Thanks again Warren

My car jerks or looks like dying when pressing the fuel pedal. I replaced the Map sensor, injectors, and Oxygen sensor but there is still that jerking or hesitation when pressing the fuel pedal
@@delmaineballas4855 Eventually, replaced the coil & distribution cables and the problem was gone. Try that out first as the cheaper option. On the diagnostics machine it showed Lambda sensor and injectors....I replaced them too.
My golf wont hold idle sitting on 500rpm have to give abit of gas to kep idle , stall at traffir llight or will have to keep in gear so i have a con rev

If it's the mpi like mine just burn it bruh saves alot of money, heartaches and stress cause the mp9 was perfect no needed to change from Bosch cause theres alot of comon problems with the CDI motor the 2009 model

Hi Tobi, thanks for stopping by my channel your support is appreciated, there are many reasons a car uses too much petrol, Spark Plugs incorrect or worn, dirty air or petrol filters, incorrect tyre pressures, incorrect timing settings, also check the carb base rubber (if your car is a carb model) it may be leaking sucking air and the list goes on, it is best to start a process of elimination starting with the most obvious and cheapest, good luck. he cold start sensor seems to be the problem here replace it with a reliable one (good make)

If it functions correctly then no worries it could just be a different system used to power the unit.

Any advice for my polo 1.4i running super rich, checked timing, changed coolent sensor, replaced plugs, etc.. can a faulty map sensor cause this ?

Try replacing the temp sensor, it also serves as the cold start, it might be stuck in the closed/cold position therefore higher revs.

What seems to be the problem, give me some details to work with and I will try my best to help.
Even me I try changing all sensors but iddle still goes up to 40000rpm

Hey Warren, I do not think it necessary, if you can live with it, after all, it is not new anymore a little wear is acceptable. Gary
I had the same problem and it turned out to be the stepper motor on the throttle body. Only way to fix it was a complete throttle body replacement
