Met him in our hotel lobby in Eugene during the Olympic trials. Very nice, humble kid. He looks like he's the real deal. Wish him the best in Paris. Also met his mother and sister at the track. Just a very grounded family.
He's about to run sub 44 before age 17!!!! hahaha This young stud is running to be on the 4x4 GOLD!! Can you imagine being an Olympic Gold Medalist at 16?? I feel privilege to watch the greatness unfold.
Indeed 💯🔥🔥. He's STRONG, he didn't fade one bit.
That's scary to run that fast at his age
stud
Bro said he’s gonna run 4x4 gold, he did bad and got kicked off of the finals
@@ZynnxOfficial he still got a gold medal tho
Going to the jr Olympics this year. I aspire to be like him in the 400m!
Whats ur time?
@@MjuniorProductions I’m 12 and it’s 1:00 😔 trying to get better
@@ButterMoney-ql8hkyou’re crazy dude keep it up you can be just as great as quincy
Keep working, keep aspiring, even through the tough times. Good luck!!
You’re fast as hell but whoever said just as great as Quincy probably didn’t see that he was at 1:00 at like 9
This is absolutely insane. This young man needs to be protected lol. I pray he continues forward with solid coaching and is allowed to grow. Absolutely amazing
Hopefully he won’t be ruined by Kersey like he did Athing Mu
This kid is amazing. He will just get better....he will get stronger, taller and that means better times. Also his technique will improve, his head is leaning back too much and if that is fixed by him leaning slightly forward while running or just straight, that will improve his timing too.
I think both Deadmon (44.23) and Bolling (44.84) ran PRs in this race as well. This was a good race in a meet full of world-class performances. Exciting to see competition this close to the Olympics. I think Wilson secured his spot on the relay.
It literally showed deadmons pr before the race
@@dpw181 I agree that was a good race, what I enjoy watching about young Quincy Wilson is that he gets tougher doing the end of the race. He puts everything that he has into it. Well, grounded and just generally humble and that’s what I like the most.
44.22 is Deadmon's PB, but very close. Matt keeps improving but the kid is amazing.
He’s the real deal!
Indeed, he didn't fade one bit!!
Wow..Quincy is Amazing!!!
Second fastest in the U.S. this year… he’s definitely about to be in the relay finals! I just wish he made the individual too but I guess the rounds got to him. Great Job!!👏🏾
High school and the Olympics are totally different animals, In High school he's unbeatable, Against grown men he's 6th😬😬😬
@@zoocepierce4556there were grown men behind him too, pros.
@@zoocepierce4556 The main difference is running the rounds without much recovery time, he ran this fast time in a one off race, but making it through the rounds and still be able to run fast in the finals is the key, he couldn't do it at the Trials and came in 6th.
@@phoebus AND the level of competition
@@phoebusI mean he's young man. 16 years old. And he missed the open by only 3 spots. The importance of that is that against grown tried and true individuals he didn't come last. And now he's the second fastest in his country rn.
Quincy looks small compared to the other runners. I thought he would get second and wouldn't hold off Deadmon. This proofs Quincy was the right choice for the Olympic relay. Nothing more to say. He says it all on the track!
Wilson continues to amaze. His interviews are as impressive as his events. Young man is mature beyond his years.
Hello its 2024, there's thing now called Media training.
@@7Louise7 Perhaps you should sign up for some. Good luck.
Kid be shaving 1/2 second every race!!!😳 that’s just insanity
Imagine how much faster he will go when he tidies up his technique. Sensational talent.
Hope he stays healthy. What a savage . I ran 50 at his age 🙃🙃🙃
Quincy Wilson🎉
Go Quincy! We’re so proud of you!!!!! 🙏🏾👏🏾👊🏾💜👍🏾🔥
This youth is unbelievable at his age 16/17 years. He will be a star around the country/world sooner than we know🇺🇸
Young fella is 16 and six months.
He did that!
Quincy Wilson, the phenom. Bravo, young man! Let's get it done in Paris. Unending greatness & blessings to you.
Congrats Q. Stay focused
Kid's amazing. 4:42 hard to see but was that Grant Holloway dapping him up? Hope he gets to run in Paris
What an amazing "What I did over summer break" story!
@@kennethwoods6525 that’s interesting. Was thinking the same thing when he gets back to school and have to write that composition about what he did this summer. Ernest spot on the Olympic team and a paid trip to Paris. That’s OK for 16 year old.
@@Surveil101yeah only OK; back in my day I ran 41.77 when I was 16 🥱
@@jasonturek6671yea in the 4x1
@@jasonturek6671 your levity does not obscure the point, however, asinine, and Ludacris.
@@Surveil101 ludicrous was my name back when I ran a 4.23 100m and 9.05 200m, unfortunately I was unable to go pro as my knee was injured
If the trials were today! The kid would be in top 3!!
Im so proud of him. Quincy you are beyond amazing!
His form is still raw and he doesn’t even have his full adult body yet
Exactly what I was thinking
Kid is out of this world, but the head carry and arm movement is so strange. Have they tried to coach this out at al?
Maybe. Either way it’s working. If he fixed it he would definitely be faster but for now it’s definitely getting him places 😂
Doesn't look like it, which means he can go a lot faster. He is a true PHENOM. We keep crankin em out!! haha
Why would you mess with him? Let him run the way he’s been running.
He can’t fix what’s not broken, he is obviously getting the job done
If It Ain't Broke Don't Fix It. Quincy reminds Me of the Iconic Lee Evans; Who ran with abandon while head back and swinging and He broke/set 400 meter records decades ago.
If he isnt on the 4x4 final after this then USA is trippin
He will be on the 4×4 team.
@@bititoxbut he isn’t running
@@AHITMAN3 He's in the pool, it hasn't been decided if he's running or not yet!
He’s gonna run the question is when in were. I’d be surprised if he doesn’t run at least one qualifying round in both 4x4. Running the finals is a completely different case. There are a lot of variables in play that would have to work out to get him in the final.
@@milworks This time would have won Quincy the last two world championships. Only Quincy Hall has run faster in the U.S. this year. The kid has plenty of relay experience in highschool and there's not much risk in the 400. Kid is ready to go, even anchor.
He would’ve gotten third at last olympics if he ran that time
what a talent.
Put him in the second leg of that relay. Rai will anchor.
Unusual form too. Amazing
Go back and look at video of Lee Evans. His running style was very similar to that of Quincy Wilson, they didn’t even try to changing. He became a world champion gold medal world record in the 400 m 68 Olympics, gold medal 4 x 400 m relay 68 Olympics world record
If he keeps that head straight, he will relax more, breathe easier.
His coaches know what they’re doing
Congratulations
I wish the networks would get it together and show more track& field events. These young athletes are fanominal.
This kid is a natural, speed, strong truly sensational
Dedman was good too! Incredible!
This kid is truly special. Only 16 years old! I look forward to seeing how his career progresses.
The great Lee Evans had a crazy running style the 400
😮 This time would put 16 year old Quincy at SECOND FASTEST EVER on the EUROPEAN ALL-TIME list!
Simply amazing!!
Bruh 🗣️👏🏾
Imagine where this guy will be at in 4 years. Probably will be the gold medal favorite in several events
I FINALLY can pass my mental torch in the hs 400m. Ive been very discriminant when it comes to Darrel Robinsons 44.69 from Tacoma in 1982.. Well its been a HECK of run.. Congats to this young man, he changed 40 yrs of mindset..William Reed, Obea Moore, Micheal Norman couldnt even do it. That speaks volumes
It's not only Wilson, you have to thank Deadmon for pushing Wilson to get this mind bending record
Beast!
💪
When he grows into his legs.. he’s going to break more than just the U18 WR!
In the meantime, Lyles, who's never run sub 47, is pushing to be on the 4x4 team.
Womp, womp 👎 Not a credible ask by Lyles. Glad Quincy Hall clapped back.
Lyles split a 45 so he isn’t bad
@@wutduh8697 he isn't bad but there are so many people who would be faster than him over 400
@@wutduh8697noah doesn’t deserve to run unless he runs the open 400 or splits a 44 low or 43 45 is times high schoolers are able to run
This is when Quincy tells Lyles: And!
Both Quincys earned their spots. Talk is cheap.
And he's got the most unconventional running style I've seen for a long time. Phenom in the making.
That boy can haul some azz WOW! He has been born with that gift of super human speed.
He needed this to get to the Olympics! Amazing talent.
What you mean he needed this?
He was already included in the 4x4. What are you on about Willis
@@epiphanylewis5274 He needed the 44.20 to make the Olympic team.
@@yennox5338 he was already going
That lane 2 draw made all the difference at the US Olympic Trials 400m finals.
Quincy needs to run some 200s and 800s
He has. 1:50 in the 800. 21.1 in the 200. I think he could run 1:48.00 right now.
Amazing.
I can't think of a more impressive U18 record broken this year, in addition to breaking the oldest HS record (I think) on the books Darryl Robinson's 44.68 set wayyy back in 82' I wonder what age he will be when runs sub 44.00 out the blocks.
Incredible 😮
stay humble, don't over train. You have almost 20 years of competition ahead of you. Be strategic with your career.
He killed my HS time.
I sucked!
He’s going into his junior year…..of high school
I hope they give him the USA flag carrier honor at the Olympics
This is the #47 400m time of all time btw and he's only 16 insane
Give that man a medal 🏅 😂😂😂
The US trials came a month too early for him.
Getting lane 2 was too much to overcome. Quincy still ran a national record.
WOW!!!!!!😊
Over striding with feet lagging behind. Hey, this kid’s proven all the coaches are wrong
No BOY can run a grown man's time, much less amongst the fastest in the adult world. I suspect enhanced performance.
I just love when people undermine greatness by throwing out PED allegations without even a shread of evidence
🔥🔥🔥
If he keeps that head straight, he will relax more and breathe easier. He is a MONSTER - just wait and see!!!
How was the long jump allowed to continue during the start of the race?! The clapping distracted the runners listening for the gun, and the gun distracted the jumper.
Its crazy to think he got 6th against the olympians.....
💪🏿💪🏿💪🏿🏃🏿➡️
Actually both Qs - Hall & Wilson have comprable running styles "rough" to that of the late great Lee Evans...of course if you are looking for the most aesthetically pleasing form/style for a quarter miler you'd have to reference the original Q - Watts, or of course Wariner or Van Niekerk to name a few...next barrier for this young man will be going sub 44sec. and eclipsing the WJR held by the great Steve Lewis.
These commentators suck they’re so dry this is one of the reasons people that don’t run aren’t interested in track. That was an exciting race and they’re sitting there calling the race out so flat. The commentating sounded like paint drying.
Are we cooked ?
Gentlemen, do you know that he has a PB better than a phenom like Rai Benjamin? 44"20 vs 44"21. Good. But there is just a little problem: Benjamin is capable of 10"03 and 19"99. And the kid? What's his PB in the 100 and 200 meters? It's important to see that because without good times in those events, IT'S SIMPLY IMPOSSIBLE TO RUN CERTAIN TIMES IN THE 400M.
Don't you think so? 🤔
When do the haters start whining about the anthem at the games? Deport them.
We may be watching the Usain Bolt of the 400m. Usain Bolt was a man amongst boys at 16 but I'm not sure he was this good.
Bolt was nowhere near this good at 16. I'm absolutely mindblown at what Quincy's doing in the 400 at his age. Just hope he's clean
@@EliHankBolt was a 400m runner before 100 and 200 and he has a faster BP than Quincy.
He also ran away from the field better than Quincy.
@@TheOgTrooli Bolt's PB in the 400m was 45.28 which he set at age 21...
@@EliHank Least Bolt ain't on drugs 😊
Whatever it takes to finish the 400, f the for it’s too hard lol.
Puberty ages your body 6 months in 1 month tbf, i expected it
Why he run like he struggling the entire way? Guy in purple has a way better form.
It doesn't make sense to me though. This should be impossible with his body and age. His legs aren't long enough for the latter part of the race
He will run 42 b4 20
FloTrack butchered this live. literally had two screens going one with a significant event along side another significant event. You never have anything on at the same time as the men's 400MD
Bananas
Quincy Wilson is fast but his technique is so odd. Why is the head back?
No disrespect, but we need to stop saying these youngsters are on the verge of breaking world records because of time they are running as teens and most of them never transition in being a record holder
But he IS literally BREAKING RECORDS😂😂😂
@@orlando1008 bro made it to the Olympics 😭🙏
Its not everyday you see a 16 year old running close to 43.. Plus he did break a world record in this event
You just mad Boling has flamed out with all the hype he got coming out of high school.
@@lilcourtny08 Matt hasn't flamed out he just set another PB in this race, like his fourth or fifth 400m PB this year, so he's still out there working and improving, if he had run this time a few weeks ago he'd be on the Olympic relay team. Matt also set HS records, we have yet to see what Wilson will do over the years, plenty of HS stars didn't go on to have good pro careers, things happen.
i dont know!
Humanity's insane apatite for entertainment makes sports and related activities so overrated!! A sign of the times we live in!!
🫡
I hope he hasn’t peaked
Wonder does that bother his neck when he races like that.
Great achievement! But says nothing about the future. Also needs to work hard on his technique.
Commentary is just dead. Terrible call. This is a 16 year old running a 44.20, close race and you’re that dead in the comment booth. They need to do better!
yeah ill just quit
KID DASH
A lot of testicular fortitude shown
Matt blowing needa to run the 800 now lol
Too big and muscular for the 8. Needs to run the 400mh
First to comment 😅
This kid is FAKE
But YOUR envy and immaturity are REAL!!! 😏😏😏
And you’re JEALOUS 🤡
He didn't just spring up from the ground. He has been running for a while.
This is RIDICULOUS. Such a major accomplishment by Quincy. Yet here you have an AMATEUR organization putting the event. Too many folks walking around. Sit down so that we can watch Quincy run. Grand you guys could do better than this. Ridiculous management of the sport of track and field. Too many folks walking around and they to go sit down period.
What are you talking about? There are a lot of things going on at the same time at track meets. If they took the time to do only one event at a time and focus on that it would never end. Believe it or not a lot of athletes are concerned with their own events and really don't care about the 400m or anything else for that matter.
