Kolkata Doctor Rape Case LIVE Updates: Protestors March in Kolkata as SC takes suo Motu Cognizance
The Supreme Court has taken suo motu cognizance of the horrific rape and murder of a 31-year-old trainee doctor at R.G. Kar Medical College and Hospital in Kolkata. A bench led by Chief Justice of India DY Chandrachud is set to hear the matter on Tuesday. Meanwhile, protestors have organised a demonstration in Kolkata. The Ministry of Health and Family Welfare said it will form a panel, which will give suggestions on all possible measures for ensuring the safety of doctors.
