    Thank you so much for this demonstration!!! The colors are so pretty, and I love the idea of making our own palettes from tube paints! I actually just picked up a larger set of this same paint, and I have been researching the best way to fill a palette. Many articles appear several years old, and they suggested adding one drop of glycerin to the paint to keep it from cracking once dry. Did you happen to notice any cracking after your paint was dry?

      Yes one if my reds have cracked now over time but I didn’t add any glycerin. I didn’t want to thin these down in any way since cotman series are light to begin with. Cracked pieces don’t bother me because they are nicely in their own slots as I don’t carry this palette. If you are making a travel palette, then it may be more important to add the glycerin.

      @@2tinytreasures Okay, so cracked doesn’t necessarily mean unusable if I’m not using it for traveling or field painting. All the paints still rewet nicely, even the cracked one? I appreciate your time and energy with the answers. This is very helpful! 🙏🏼

      Correct. It doesn’t affect the function of the watercolor at all.
