Love using foam for the little discs- much sturdier than cardboard for impatient 4 & 6 yr old grandkids!! I am sure I will be sending partially done bracelets home at the end of their visit so I want it easy for my DIL. Thanks!
Your videos are delightful and informative! I really love them. 😊
everythign you made this week was lovely, but I think I like the octopus shawl and the comb reed sample the best. Lovely to see you connect with your extended family and so smart to be Covid cautious. Stay well!
Thank you so, so much!! 🥹💕
Loved weaving with you! ❣️
Dorothy!!! It was SUCH a joy. Thank you for making this experience so special! 🥹💕
I like the sample with the comb reed. I saw an example on UA-cam, it was a studio in England. I had seen finger fringes on a scarf that a woman had made. I wasn't sure how to do that. Thanks for showing how. I find your Vlogs so inspiring, keep up the good work.
I'm so glad that this video could be helpful!! Thank you so much for watching 🥹💕 Happy weaving!
So many experiences and projects packed into a week!
It's been super busy!! But thankfully it's a fun busy 😅💕
I love the finger fringe and gaps in the scarf! And awww your cousin super loves dragons 🥺🥺🥺🥺🥺 I love Mango and her drawings! I was a dragon-loving kid too
Ahhh, thank you so much!! I had such a fun time making that scarf, and I'm so glad it made her happy 🥹💕 Fiona putting the scarf on Mango totally made my day, it's an honor!! 🤣❤️
It makes me happy you are having a great time. 🥰
Aww!! 🥹 that means so much to me, thank you 💕
I love everything you made this week, especially the asymmetrical vest. I thought of you this week when I watched a video on Just Get It Done Quilts channel, where Karen interviewed Tula Pink about her fabric designing business. I found it fascinating.
What a funny coincidence - at the NeedleCraft Cottage (the store that WabiSabiWeaving is attached to), the owner, Megan, was working on a Tula Pink quilt last week!! I had never heard of that designer before and totally fell in love with her designs. I totally want to go find that video!!
I really appreciate the time and effort you put in to creating these videos! They are so inspiring and just a joy to watch! It looks like you are having an amazing summer!
Thank you so much, that means so much to me!! 🥹💕
Another great week, sad you are halfway through. It's fun to see what you're up to. Love the vest pattern, those fabrics were stunning! See you next time. 👍👍👍
Thank you so much for watching 🥰
Terrific that you could take a class with Nicole!
It was a whole lot of fun, and now I want to dye everything! 🤣
How I love your podcasts! So inspirational, wish I had a chance to try out Saori weaving, but here in Finland no such looms or studios available. Anyhow the scarf you made to your cousin gave an idea to try out with my rigid heddle loom, so thank you Andrea.
Awww, thank you so much! 🥹💕 Happy weaving!!
I love your work
I loved following along! Thank you for sharing x
Thank you SO much for watching!! 🥰🥰🥰
💖 I really enjoyed following along your internship experience! Looks like your had a great time 🙌🏼💕
Thank you so much for watching 🥹💕
Your scary for Fiona was lovely… and so cute on her. Thanks for sharing your adventures with us!
Thank you so much!! 🥹💕
Great video!!!
Really loving your internship videos! So inspiring and beautiful weaving- and your sunny personality fits in perfectly with California 😀🌼
Wonderful as always
Thank you so much 🥹💕
How sweet you wanted to make something for your cousin. I'm a new fan for sure, your work is gorgeous!
That scarf is really lovely! You always inspire me to get back to the loom. I have watched NIcole Frosts videos too, I bet you learnt loads on the workshop, lucky you!
Thank you so much, that means a lot to me 🥹💕 It was a really fun experience, and I'm so excited to keep dyeing things!!
Rainbow yarns look pretty cool when mixed with an alternate single-color skein, like black, navy, white, or dark purple. The contrast is a lot of fun.
Love seeing your sewn garments, it's just the coolest, and very inspiring! (Are saori lower garment patterns a thing? You would totally rock some crazy color handwoven shorts. Might have to try that myself!)
Oooh, I like that idea!! Thank you for sharing!
I've been hesitant to make any kind of pants or skirts or etc. just because I tend to use a lot of unconventionally mixed fibers and don't know how they'd behave 😅😅😅 But I'm sure i'll try to tackle those someday!! I'd love to see how yours turn out 😃
Thank you, Andrea! I just discovered you. Your videos are so inspiring! You have such a warm, heartfelt energy! I’m a former metalsmith and now work in fiber arts. I’m seriously considering weaving after watching your videos!
Thank you so much, that means so much to me! 🥰 Join the weaving side!! 🤣❤️
Andrea, that is, so beautiful came out great; I like a lot of other men love colours maybe you can come out with a jacket with pockets for men not that it's make any different think of the old Hippy, like me yes we still around 🙂 thank you.
These are DELIGHTFUL videos! Thank you for such an inspiring invitation to your world. If I may ask, what cameras are you using? I work in textile documentation too (anthropologist of textiles!), and the colors/tone of your equipment/editing is just beautiful. Thank so much!
Thank you so much for watching!! 🥹💕 For my vlogs, I just film on my iPhone 12 plus with a teeny tiny Manfrotto tripod. For my "more official" weaving/project videos, I use a Sony a6300! Textile anthropology sounds SO COOL!!!
@@AndreaAlexander This is so generous, and useful! Your videos are so satisfying, thank you again for sharing. And I'm happy to chat anthro of textiles anytime--I'm one of a handful, and it's a wild ride!
So fun! Love the vests, what kind of tape material did you have on your fabric when sewing for the arm holes? I want to do more sewing with handwoven fabric and that looked like a great tool
Thank you so much!! That tape is Quilter's Tape. I use it to mark out where I am going to cut my fabric. I always sew around where I am going to make my cuts, so I place the tape, take my fabric to the sewing machine and sew around the tape (so the tape is just a guide), then remove the tape before cutting! It's a trick I learned from Suzanne that I'm 100% going to keep doing going forward because it is so so so much easier thank chalk or pins. I hope this was helpful!! 😃💕 Happy sewing!
@@AndreaAlexander thanks! It seems like a great way to be a bit less nervous when cutting your fabric, cuz you already know it's been reinforced from sewing
Did you ever make a squid vest pattern? Could I buy it please? Thanks
I have a question for you. Have you woven without using the reed? I saw that on a video once. they used clothespins to hold the heddles where they wanted them.
I have seen that technique before, but I haven't tried it myself! I really want to someday, because it looks really interesting.
Hi Andrea love your videos. When my weaving is finished, I might create that A symmetrical vest. What is the tape you used to make the arm holes
I used quilter's tape! It's only there to tell me where I need to cut/sew. So I place the tape, sew around the tape, remove the tape, and then cut my fabric! I hope you have a wonderful time making the vest 😃💕
@@AndreaAlexander ah ok fair enough thanks
