Yes. Some Frigidaire and Electrolux dryers have 2 sets of coils. If only one is broken it will start to heat then throw error codes. Also it coil may be making contact with the housing, grounding out will throw codes. Either way it will still need the element assembly replaced.
FYI, I'll never buy Electrolux again. I have laundry piled to the ceiling because my washer was just out, AGAIN, just got it fixed, and now the dryer shows E64! I know all appliances are bad nowadays, but these are ridiculous! I just had to vent.
can you make a video on how to operate the center knob and the right heat knob. on a frigidaire affinity dryer. model #...FARG1011mw. what's with the beeps. is this a lemon.
I'm going to disagree with this being the best way to fix this error code. It is an option, but why did it happen? The best way to fix it is to solve the reason it happened. If it is a bad element, replace it.
Will the dryer still heat up if the element is bad? Mine heats up, but still throws the E64 code after about 30 - 60 seconds of running.

My dryer heats but gives me this code like 15/30 mins in. Still code e 64. Is it still the heating element I need to replace or something else?
You did now really show how to fix it. Lol

The cheap materials they use to fabricate those parts is the main reason. to "save" money they (manufacturers) use the cheapest materials.
They all break. They aren't eternal parts lol
