not usually heard from a bass...but Jerome Hines could sing anything-one of the great American bass voices ever!
THIS IS THE FIRST TIME I HEARD THIS IN ENGLISH . I THINKS ITS GREAT
I have Siepi and Pinza both singing this song on CDs.
the few operatic basso profondo´s who sang everything majestically, after all he took away justly!!!! this area from the tenors, excellent

Well sung, prefer it in Italian of course but very fine and one of my favorite Tosti pieces, though seemingly one of his less performed ones.
Hines always reminds me of Charlton Heston ;-)
