Aww im so happy to hear that you had such a nice experience❤ its the WORST feeling when people ignore you when you're being vulnerable, so i can imagine how good it felt to get a whole hearted response! I wish you a whole lot of luck, and for life to become everything you want once this hard time passes for you ☺ and it *will* pass! 🌻

Scolding me me that “it’s not a competition!” She’s a real fan hating meanie! Needless to say I’m no longer a fan🤮
its how they spread it in the stereo mix. the piano could have a wide spread her voice could have narrow spread and just reverb. it gives the illusion to your ears that the piano is coming at different angels while the voice is right in front of you
It looks to be a Yamaha upright with a mute/muffler rail felt engaged between the hammers and strings, processed with a deep reverb. You can see it clearly at 2:00.
James Francies's contribution to Yebba's music is hard to overstate; like pianist Aaron Parks's contribution to Emma Frank's music. Both James and Aaron are accomplished jazz pianists who bring mad skills to their supporting roles.
Besides the obvious things, Im loving that vintage sound and how it creeps through the beginning of the song, like shes walking through an abandoned house where the stuff was all just left there untouched for 50 yrs - pots on the stove, slippers by the sofa.
I feel that too, Miss Havisham vibe……but Yebba is singing about the visiting spirit , the ghost of her mother, memories interwoven with her longings for more time..more smiles…with her

As a jazz vocalist, I have ALWAYS appreciated Yebba's commitment to flying deep into a modal closet and throwing out the most melodically appealing lines I've ever heard. Her collaborative accompanists must be so proud to work with her, from James Francies, Robert Glasper, PJ Morton, and sooo many more!!! She is in a class by herself. I LOVE, LOVE, LOVE Yebba!!!
I love how she’s like some wild unreal mix of gospel, jazz, r&b, and folk music, some of everything. I can only attempt to mimic her choices but I never would have been able to come up with them on my own.
I pray the world hears your voice for its true talent and beauty and opens wide to you. True unadulterated talent is becoming rare in a world where anyone with some talent can be heard, you truly stand out from the rest. Keep being motivated and inspiring others, I pray that you get to follow the path YOU chose and no amount of anything pulls you from it.
Sensory OVERLOAD!!!! I mean, this is unbelievably good and executed...the arrangement, the composition and the mastery of instrument from Yebba and James is just too much... MY GOD!!!!!
I've never cried to a song so much in my life. This was like therapy. It has me contemplating a lot of my life. Yebba has an outstanding talent that I hope isn't squashed by the music industry. She embodies all of the greats. Very powerful, very other worldly talent.
Well.... dont listen to Heartbreak if you don't wanna cry. I think her mom died or committed suicide, like the first night she performed somewhere big if I recall what I read. Heartbreak is to her mom. I cant listen to it without balling my eyes out. I went to call my mom and play Heartbreak one day, and I remembered I can't. She's gone. Cried the rest of that day. Reading that Abbey lost her mom made it hit harder.
@lcaldwell3rd 😢 I was listening to Drake's album when I found out someone I really love has passed. I was numb and then Heartbreak came on.... and ever since whenever I hear the song my heart breaks a little more.
Yebba so deep she flies right over most of the living dead population and floods into the souls that have the capacity to receive the abundance. Those of whom are often the most unknown 🙏🏼
Do you have any idea how pissed I was when I first heard Yebba sing to realize 35yrs of my life went by for me to actually exsperience music??? You DONT listen to a Yebba track, you LIVE a Yebba track that totally encompasses your mind, body, and soul. So, I say thank you Yebba...SOOO very much!!
You can tell she enjoys just singing and making music. Her voice has purity, and while other comments hope that the world hears her, I hope that it doesn’t, the music industry is evil.
Never in my wildest dreams did I ever think that any of these songs could get any better. Sooooo glad I was wrong. This project is perfect. All praise to Father, Son and Holy Ghost that I'm alive during the time of Yebba. What a gift.

Yebba, this is hauntingly beautiful. Such an ethereal sound. I literally sat here and didn’t breathe for 4 minutes. Thank you for bringing back REAL MUSIC. Thought provoking, spirit filled music. It’s funny, you sing about a Louie bag overflowing and I feel the spirit all over me. Thank you!
My friend Emmelyn told me about Yebba. I feel these singers and musicians like Yebba and her piano, bass, and guitar musicians are angels sent here to help us through these rough times. They are emissaries of truth, soul, and healing music. Just like all musicians sent before in the 60s, 70s, and before. Thanks to you angels! You help us get through this.

Yebba is truly one of my favorite vocalist in recent years. The way she bends her vocals mid-note and the way she sings so softly yet so powerful. It's like she's a vocal technician, architect, gymnast, magician all in one go. I can't wait for a tour in the near future...like this needs to happen!
The worst part about this song is that it doesn’t last forever! Yebba, your voice is amazing and pure. Could honestly listen to this all day... and I probably will🙌🏾
good lord above, the tenderness. it’s so delicate and so powerful at the same time Every time i hear you sing, it brings tears to my eyes. and i hear you sing a *lot*

Lianne La Havas rings any bells? 😍
🙏😇ON GOD! THATS REAL!
Crazy thing is, nobody can do a versus with her. NOBODY ABSOLUTELY NOBODY
lol you should listen to Whitney but I agree! She is really good!
She’s not R&B. She’s Soul. You can feel every note and inflection. Her story is told with a connection with your emotions.
100% soul
My mind brought tears for real ❤️❤️ this womens soulful voice I felt all that emotion
She’s not your usual white pop artist
WELL said, sir!! Ever since "My Mind," I've been positively obsessed with this woman's voice and soul. Such a rarity to have this kind of gift.

Her "HEEEE~EEAAAA~VEN" is literally heaven.
That piano man is everything....with her voice....gah....I'm in love with this!
What the hell did they do to that piano?!! The compression and whatever effects laid on it, sounds so unique and ethereal. So beautiful.

@@laurielou2 oh yes definitely!! She has a divine voice❣️
@@laurielou2 yep and I’ve seen Jazmine live and she never disappoints. They’re def my two fave voices of this generation
This is what’s known as haunting. Absolutely beautiful.
The worst part about this song is that it doesn’t last forever! Yebba, your voice is amazing and pure. Could honestly listen to this all day... and I probably will🙌🏾
This version is way better than the original ♥️
One can only reach these notes by turning life’s pains inward. These are the echoes of vulnerability.
The piano. Omg!!
this was too good. Literally was floating while listening to this
Only song that I listen to after a hard day in my life. Heaven Heaven
Yebba always delivers with her super-musical, refined singing...
but the piano playing in this! It is otherworldy gorgeous!
good lord above, the tenderness. it’s so delicate and so powerful at the same time
Every time i hear you sing, it brings tears to my eyes. and i hear you sing a *lot*
She's sumthin else...the melodies, her voice...keeping up with all these melody changes flawlessly...I don't have no words...
When I wake up in the morning and give God thanks for my ability to hear,
music like THIS is part of the reason why 🤍
