    Why didn't you float the fish before you put them in the pond if I may ask? The fish were in shock and died from temperatures... Aka, from not being acclimated.
    What was the point of putting them in the pond when they're half dead from shock and stress and will be getting munched on, and if not, slowly decomposing and building ammonia?
    Oh well.

    Dude imagine all the dust on the stones (rinse first) plus you didn’t get your fish used to the water temp. you wonder why the fish aren’t doing well. Channel is great but it seems you rushed this video, it’s not always about the views, think about the fish. 👌 just saying

      well, first the fish landed on the substrate without enough water, and there's also the fact he didn't clean. However, your point of temperature acclimation was just retarded, its the same water. :/ well watev

    Dude. I've never left a negative comment on any video but they didn't parish because of Walmart. There's so many issues with this process. I know you meant well, but the temperate change, water perimeters, no acclimation.. yikes. Just a tip. It's a cool idea but things like this are very hard on fish.❤️

      He usually does acclimate. He did say it was pretty late so maybe he was tired and didn’t think about it. He’s really good. All fish keepers make mistakes. So you can’t really judge. Walmart fish usually don’t live because they don’t care for them like other pet stores. And since he already took them out of the bag it was impossible to acclimate. The fish are good.

      the fish died because of a change in water temperature or quality. please don't ignore this guy's mistreatment of these fish just because you like him as a youtuber- if he was a "really good" fishkeeper he wouldn't have done any of this in the first place

      Cassidee Vernon, I feel there is reason to judge him. That is a life. And I think it was more than just not taken care of fish at Walmart. They weren't dead at Walmart. They died AT his house. There is a good chance that they still would have been living at Walmart. It would of been more reasonable to blame Walmart if only one was dead looking and sickly, but it was both fish. Also, he could have easily put the fish back in the bag, or even washed out a ziplock bag and floated it in there for a good 20 minutes or more to acclimate them.

    Be careful putting fish from Wal-Mart in your pond with the others right away. I got two fish from Wal-Mart and put them in my tank with my other fish without quarantining them and they made all my other fish sick with fungus. I had to take everything out of my tank and clean it all and do treatments for weeks. I lost some fish I had for years because I was in a rush and added them anyways and with all that struggle the fish from Wal-Mart ended up dieing 2 days after anyways. The odd thing was they didn't look or act sick at all. I just walked in one day and they were dead.

    1. Thermal shock
    2. Ph shock
    3. Dropped in gravel
    4. Stress
    5. No oxygen in the container
    Walmart didn’t kill the fish you did.
    Please do not buy any animal unless you do proper research, those fish could of thrived in a family’s aquarium.

    Do not blame walmart for this! Its perfectly fine to buy a fish from walmart, as walmart does take care of them atleast enough for them to survive. Here is ACTUALLY why your fish died.
    -no filter or heater
    -extremely small tank, 2/3 of it was rocks leaving the poor fish no room to swim or breathe
    -you didnt acclimate them to the pond at all
    -another on the pond, no fish can survive there. a beta needs a 2 gal minimum so dont think about it and those fish would need a lot more room
    -were scared and were in shock
    take care of your fish, walmart fish are totally fine. and please do not act like you care about the fish

    • @slatelife8522
      @slatelife8522 6 років тому +8

      Exactly my point, it's walmarts fault for not feeding them not caring for them, but he didn't put enough water at first in the container and made them flop, which could've made them get shocked and never let them sit in water to adjust to the temp. Therefore they couldn't swim and were confused and scared.

      Why would you put fish into your pond without quarantining them

  • @jazzsmith4658
    @jazzsmith4658 6 років тому +269

    Over half that "tank" was filled with rocks, leaving no room for any of the mollies to swim in the 5 minutes you had them in for. They died because of shock, there was no filter or heater for the tank, you didn't rinse the rocks off. Lastly, why did you pour 2 pounds of rock into a container that holds less than 3 pounds.

    • @aliceinwonderland6208
      @aliceinwonderland6208 6 років тому +8

      I agree and not only did they get shocked but falling face first in the rocks as you pour the water could of hurt the fish terribly. That's also probably why the yellow fish was sinking in the pond. Not right

    The "tank" needs to be rinsed out first and on the bag of the rocks it says rocks should be washed off first and you need to wash off the plant too. You should NEVER put pet fish in lakes, ponds, or oceans it could cause an whole ecosystem to crash and burn. NO HATE INTENDED JUST TRYING TO HELP SOME!!!!!!!

  • @sheltonmckie8157

      EllaX0 that’s literally as chill as I can write a comment. It wasn’t angry and bashing him. It was just a suggestion. But all the bullshit that’s on the plants, rocks, etc can’t be good for the fish. That’s why they all recommend washing before using. And 4 minutes or not, you say those little fuckers go belly up and struggle to swim just like we all saw lmao

      (I made the mistake of not washing it with my Betta and after adding some purifier and turning on the filter it was fine he's still living)
      If the fish doesn't adjust to the water it will die when it goes from hot to cold

  • @razzmatazzirishwrist
    @razzmatazzirishwrist 6 років тому +82

    Bro. You did a lot of things wrong in this video, but I'm just going to focus on one in my area of expertise. Don't go assuming that those Bettas aren't being fed. Let the store do their job. Bettas can die from being fed too much, because their stomachs will press against their swim bladders and they won't be able to get to the surface for air. So. If two people fed them that day, they would all still eat it, then get sick, and die.
    Could you please do some, any research before continuing your channel?
    Taylor Nicole Dean has some great videos you could look at for inspiration.

    you couldn’t put any living creature in that, let alone a betta. a betta needs 2.5 gallons MINIMUM but 5 would be better. the reason why is because you can’t fit a filter in that small of a tank. without a filter you will not be able to start the nitrogen cycle which creates beneficial bacteria that keep the fish alive.

    It isnt practical Walmart's fault its mostly because When you buy a fish you need to dont put the fish in the aquarium right away. You need to hang the bag on the edge for max 30 minuites, and the fish didnt Move mostly didnt Move because it was probly in shock because you transfiered it from a very smal container to a big pond.

    Guys, fish from Walmart are almost always SICK! This guy has kept fish for years successfully, so I think he probably knows what he's doing. A fish is not going to die that quickly unless it already has problems.
    Every fish I've ever gotten from Walmart has died within a week, yet I can keep fish from other places for years.
    Additionally, I have close friends who work at Walmart, and have told me that nobody takes care of the fish, because the workers are spread so thinly, and have no time to look after the fish. People are rarely stationed in that section.
    So in the end, I blame Walmart for the fish dying, not Paul.

You “fans” are going to make the same argument over and over even when in the whole video those fish were being tortured. You can’t just put fish in water without acclimation. And don’t act like you didn’t do anything wrong in your whole life. I bet lots of y’all made mistakes too. And don’t act like death is such a horrific bad thing all the time. If it where a human it would be bad. If it were an endangered species it would be bad. But I’m pretty sure those fish aren’t endangered. The fish were going to die anyways. If he had all the right knowledge and Materials the fish would’ve died at some point.

    I think before u put ur new fish into ur tank u need to let the bagged fish sit in the new water (like in the bag they came in) because there is such a dramatic temperature difference between the temperature of the water in the tanks at walmart and the one that you made, this was a great video by the way!💜😊

    I don't see the actual point in making "the worlds smallest tank" if you're only going to have it together for two minutes then temperature shock them so they die. Anyone can do that. There is no actual challenge there. You also shouldnt be doing it if you have any value for its life. Also, you shouldnt take it upon yourself to up and feed fish that have already been fed. Overfeeding pollutes the water and makes conditions worse. If you have an issue with how they take care of the fish then put a formal complaint in like an adult. Take care of your fish properly and they wont die, even from walmart.

    • @NikkiRox85
      @NikkiRox85 6 років тому

      If you are not buying the appropriate size tank for the fish than it can not thrive. Its like shoving you in a tiny box to live your life in.
