i love him so much it pains me to rewatch the mv. but i love rewatching it with y'all and you definitely one of the rare reactors out there that reacted to the mv thoughtfully. just love that you really get it. thanks so much for the hard work for making this video!
The scar was self-inflicted from the battles he had with himself due to all the traumatic events that took place in his life. Yoongi is a real fighter. The fact he went through all of this and decided to share everything with us shows that he trusts us so much, i can't imagine how hard it was for him to relive all these moments with writing this song. I am so proud of the man he has become. I am extremely proud of Yoongi. I am so grateful for him because he gives me strength everyday.
This song is so powerful. Knowing that he’s based it on his life & experiences never fails to bring tears to my eyes. Yoongi is one heck of an artist. 💜
This song resonates with so many Armies because we've suffered our own trauma. I myself recognize the process throughout all three videos. So many Armies say BTS has pulled them out of a bad place. I have two favorites, Amygdala about pain, and Mikrokosmos about joy.
This is the best representation of what fear, depression , anxiety, and trauma response looks/ feels like on the inside... It scared me how much I could identify with this video, the first time I watched it I was speechless... I'm on the other side of it myself, that's why I'm so happy to see how happy and relaxed Yoongi is these days 🙌🏻 This is a masterpiece, he is amazing! 💜 Just so you guys know his parents are still around, but it sounds like they did go through things... I'm so glad he shared this with us.
Suga just extended his tour for 3 more shows. Saw it in California and it was awesome. When he plays the piano and guitar he just shows his depth. There are different songs released on the BTS UA-cam channel. You may enjoy. He has 3 albums as August D.
Yoongi is a true mental health advocate. He knows what it feels like down there, in this really dark place your own mind can be, and that sometimes there’s no way out, you have to hang in there and not.give.up! That he shared this video with the world means so much because that means he knows that these topics don’t belong behind doors and walls, people need to know and bear with us. People need to understand how it feels so one day we can end the stigma. I’m so proud of him, proud of myself and every survivor of trauma, depression or any other mental health issue. And if your in the middle of sth, hang in there. You will make it through!
This is one of my favorites and made me cry. There are so many pieces in the song that represent different scenes. During in the Soop both Suga and RM read the book Almond. It is about the amygdala - the part of your brain that holds bad memories. Notice he is eating Almonds. The memories can leave scars - hence the scar on his face. His mom had heart issues carrying Suga during pregnancy. During trainee years he delivered food and got into an accident and wrecked his shoulder and continued on not telling anyone being afraid he would have to leave. He used medication to hide the pain. His Dad got cancer later. He worked hard releasing those memories and fear. The room he was in and wanted out of was the amygdala part of his brain. All of the 7 work hard on their MV, but Suga I think is the best at getting the feelings across and evoking those feelings in everyone who watches his videos. There is a documentary of D-Day album on Disney Plus. It is all about the album and it is so good! I hope you can watch it. I have watched it several times. Great reaction!!! 💜👍🏽😊👏🏽
Just to clarify, the amygdala processes emotions. It links the emotions to memories (found in the hippocampus and prefrontal cortex), learning , and senses. The amygdala is important to survival; the amygdala learns what is dangerous and will cause fear (anxiety) when you are in a similar situation.
This song and MV is actually a lot deeper than it may seem like at first glance (especially when you don't know suga's story). That's why I don't usually suggest new army to react to it because it can be hard to fully grasp. I may have told you guys the context of this song in a previous comment (probably your reaction to haeguem) and I see people have mentioned this already but I'll reiterate in more detail. This song and MV portrays his real life and traumas. Stuff like the scar are more symbolic of course (as in the past he dealt with mental health issues and depression) but before joining bts he actually did get in a car accident just like this. He used to be a delivery worker when he was a trainee and that's when it happened (and it greatly injured/dislocated his shoulder). He dealt with the pain and had to take pain medication for a VERY long time (over 7 years at least, while dancing the hard bts choreo) until he literally could barely use/move his shoulder properly at all. So he finally got sugery and went though rehab around the end of 2020 and beginning months of 2021. Its safe to assume from this MV too he probably had some PTSD from it. Combined with everything else he went though, some of which is said in the lyrics, yoongi really had such a tough battle in life...but army is of course so grateful that he's gotten through all of it and shared so plainly his past traumas/struggles with us in this song😏💜
I have read that yoongi had suffered from PTSD, OCD, social anxiety, and depression. Eventually he hit a real bottom, and with encouragement sought therapy. But his six brothers loved him into being whole also. He's an incredibly tough man. Btw, he wrote the story boards, wrote, composed, and produced all three videos. He is completely annoyed at people who accuse BTS of autotune, you're not hearing that. Listen to him on stage and it's obvious. Yoongi is a musical genius.
Just so you know, guys, his parents are still with us 😊👍 We just saw pictures of his parents at Yoongi's older brother's recent wedding, and they both look fantastic!!
This is my favorite song from any of the BTS members solo music. The way it was put together, his acting, the lyrics, the feeling, the rapping, the singing, the simplicity of the MV. Absolutely beautiful, a masterpiece to me.
I'm glad his parents are doing well and he got surgery for his shoulder in 2020 after his motorcycle accident in 2012. He had been in pain for his shoulder for 8 long years.
Amygdala is the life story of Suga/Augst D. His pre debut days, being a delivery boy, hit by the car, injured his shoulder & going through depression. His parents & much was going in this MV. Loved your reactions.... ❤
I think about, that I remember the BAD TIMES Vividly. Things that hurt me, My Amygdala keeps them fresh, while people have to remind me of good happy memories.
It's his own life story. Everything mentioned in the MV is real. Yoongi got into a bike accident during his trainee days which permanently damaged his shoulder. He used to do a part time job of a food delivery boy during that time and was out to make a delivery. He struggled through his pain all through the years and continued to perform those hard choreos with a damaged dislocated shoulder. Yes he did go through surgery back then but was suggested to go through a bigger one but didn't fearing he might not be able to perform anymore. He was on pain killers up until 2020.. Then during their short break he finally got his surgery done. He still suffers from pain from time to time. The information about his mom and dad is also true. Although it was not known to fans up until this MV.. All this and many more personal and professional struggles broke his mental health... He struggled with trauma, anxiety and depression throughout the years and went through therapy, hence the pills..
He didn't get surgery "back then". Well, not on his shoulder. He had appendicitis. The one - and only - surgery on his shoulder came in 2020, which is why he was out so long. When he did finally tell BH about the accident, he was only put on painkillers - and often had injections before performances - to help, but of course, with as severe as the damage was, the painkillers didn't do as much as they could have had the injury not been as severe.
Younger Suga on the bike at the end has an epiphany moment BEFORE the next residual "loop" memory replays again for the millionth time (as all that Augst D has been able to do up to this point is just re-live the tragedies over and over and over again in a downward spiral). Suga races to the door in a effort to stop the chaos and let Augst D out of his brain/Amygdala...and realizes that he can't change the past nor save himself from what he will have to go though as the door is locked. The 2 identities that make up Suga/Augst D will always be a part of him as we can't change our pasts no matter how much we wish we could. BUT, in that final scene, young Suga finally BROKE the haunting loop cycle memory by finally breaking out of that destructive pattern (him racing to open the locked door) instead of continuing on his bike in his memory and ultimately crashing as he has in his mind every time since the accident, over and over and over again. IN THIS ACTION of trying to take a stand against the mental torment and try and actually save himself breaks the downward spiral pattern because something different, for the first time, resulted in him actually WANTING to save his own life now. While the two entities will always be separate, breaking the mental loop of re-living tragedy every day brings the 2 entities into one and ignites the healing transformation that brings him to today as a prolific songwriter, story teller, survivor and massive mental health advocate and ally. This is literally one of the best songs ever made. Suga/Augst D is a fkn genius.
This song was so powerful in concert - just him on a single panel out with the lighting and ARMY all singing "Amygdala! Amygdala!" - yes he was in pain during his accident during training (the scene of him with the car/bike accident was that re-enactment) but was afraid to say anything for fear of getting sent home and unable to stay with the group. When the leadership at his company found out they sent him for treatment and supported his recovery and return to the group. So happy they guys ended up with BangPD and the other leaders at then BigHit - any other company probably would have kicked him out since there are so many trainees trying to debut every year but BangPD had a vision and knew they needed to be together. So grateful. And so grateful for SUGA/AgustD/Min Yoongi for sharing his voice and music with us. Thanks for reacting.
agust d is one of the best people i know agust d is fearless and suga created august d to destroy his weak points i love suga he is a great guy he is a great rapper he has a perfect vocal and is a great producer i cry everytime i listen to amygdala i can't hold back bts my favorite band from 2016 I've been listening since and I still love it so much I'm Turkish army and my bias is Suga ❤❤❤❤
eveything in this song is true about his life and he worked as a delivery boy and made an accident and kept it secret for years afraid that the company will make him quit from the group and he than told them but they were tooooo busy with their schedule that he danced with that shoulder for 7-8 years and than he had the surgery 😢i love him, i love them 💜🥰
Pills representing the times after his accident, when he wasn't able to perform without pain killer's. Thankfully he decided to fix his shoulder during covid, so hopefully he is free from pain.
"I bloom like a lotus flower"... The lotus grows out of mud, and is a symbol is rebirth because the flower is drowned by the stream, only to resurface over and over.
Amygdala is actually a part of our brain that holds our memories. If we have trauma, it will remind us to stay from the dangers. It is the shape of an almonds. Suga is a genius a detail. He is eating almonds in a few parts.
When this was released I really cried. I know that he have been through a lot but I didn't know anything aside from what he went through with Bangtan and the shoulder injury. Him popping pills is just to take away the pain from his shoulder. He said that he was relieved to finally have that surgery bec there came a point when nothing can ease the pain anymore.. And that accident happened before they debuted.
I think Yoongi doesn't open the door at the end because what's done is done. Over the last 2-3 years he has spoken about letting go of anger and not living in the past, living in the present and looking forward has really helped him. He mentions this briefly while talking to Jin on Suchwita and how Jin also helped him. You should review his album D-DAY. Every track is amazing and has its place. Samr for RM's Indigo album.💜
their parents alive. but the story is true: accident, surgery, cancer. in the book Beyond the story 10 year record Suga described, that one time he was leaning on his mom's body and heard some kind of ticking in her heart. it was very memorable for him - and he singing about it in the song (the sound of mom's heart is ticking away in my ears...)
I've been able to watch this mv a grand total of 5 times including your reaction. It just hurts that somebody that means so much to me had so much happen to him. I know there isn't anything I can do to change the past, but I really wished I could take that pain from him. But then I thought about it, and realized he's doing it himself, just like he said in an interview. We have to be our own first step in healing. And speaking about how you can hear the emotion in his voice, you absolutely have to watch the live version from his D-Day tour. It's so raw and powerful to hear an entire arena of people singing their own pain with him.
KEEP IN MIND.. he has had that busted shoulder since PRE-DEBUT.... and was scared to tell anyone at BigHit for fear of being kicked out. 2yrs he suffered in silence doing all those HARD choreo. It began to affect him so they actually got his first shoulder surgery. He finally got his last one to repair it correctly in 2020 during the pandemic. REMEMBER all the hard choreo even after 2016 until 2020... all with a messed up shoulder. This is why he is known as like a cat because WE saw him as a sleepy grandpa while everyone else around him is energetic. HE COULDNT SLEEP...instead he would be in the studio making hits.
The pills are pain relievers bec of the pain in his shoulder due to the accident. The unfortunate situations of his parents were all true tho. But good thing they surpassed it all, and they're all good now.
For me this song and video portrays what real depression feels like. The world tilted against you and impossible to get out. These guys put the world back on its axis for me 4 years ago, I'll never let it happen again. I love your reactions and laughter.💜🐨🇦🇺
Those pills are pain relievers for his shoulder injury cause by the motor cycle accident that happened when he was doing part time delivery job before his debute.
That pill, he suffered with his shoulder injury, to the point that he cant raise his arm but he should dance and perform. Doctor prescribe him analgetic pills, and when those pills not working well anymore, he got shot before performing.
Just wanted to clarify something SUGA was not popping pills. The pills you've seen are Vitamins, he used to take so that his body could keep up, pills prescripeted by a doctor, so he ain't a drug addict. You can watch behind the scenes for the MV to understand more. And when you saw him taking so much pills at once in the video, I think that's a symbolism to a Suicide attempt coz he said " My accident that I can't mention". React to his song " The last" you'll understand, in that song he alluded that he was asked by his doctor if he (attempted self harm), although the part between brackets was peeped or censored in the song, still we got the the gist, and he said yes. Another thing, the motorcycle accident happened to him back when he was a trainee under bighit and working as a delivery boy simultaneously. The accident cost him his shoulder, he didn't tell the company because he was afraid of not making into BTS. He endured shoulder pain for years ( because of dance and stuff) untill he got three surgeries to fix his shoulder in 2020. Lastly, his parents are alive.
Love your reaction as always! Not sure if you have watched his recent world tour concert videos cos he was soo epic! He performed this live and its soo intense!! His showmanship is on another level! Hes a story teller alongside his many other talents, a genius indeed!! Highly recommend react to his concert!! 💜💜💜
when i first heard this song it made me cry like a baby and later on he released this video song i cried so hard he's so strong and he gives me power to stay strong i relate to suga in many aspects so his songs give me strength and also makes he cry the hardest suga is not just a song writer he's a poet his lyrics are so beautiful moonlight, snooze, seesaw, shadow, the last , set me free, first love, these songs have very deep and raw lyrics
All the things he has gone through are too much for anyone to handle. 😢 The accident happened while working as a delivery guy when he was a trainee and didn’t tell the company for fear they would cut him. He suffered with tremendous shoulder pain until he got surgery in late 2020. I think he is one of the strongest people I know.🥹💜💜💜💜 And actually all 7 have gone through so much it’s one if the reasons I love and appreciate them so much. 🥰💜
This song was made from the younger experience in life of suga this is really a masterpiece of him because this is a true to life story In his younger age suga work as a delivery boy to support his studies those times where BTS is just beginning on the carrier they suffer from poverty, yoongi suffering from deep depression also & anxiety and this motto accident while his going on duty car hits him he has shoulder fractures. If u want to know suga life story u can search about it in youtube. ❤
When he did this in concert, it was even more difficult to watch. The video was bad enough (showing everything), but live...damn. I'm not a crier, but even I was bawling my eyes out by the end of it. Note towards the end, the rain? To this day, Yoongi hates it, because his accident happened on a night that it was actually raining. He did eat almonds in the video...but most of those were pills. In another song (not sure if you guys hit that one or not yet so I don't want to give TOO much away), he admitted that he had tried to commit su*c*de in the past. Many say he's weak, cold, etc. I HATE that. Honestly, he is one of the bravest men I know of. He went through so much...and came out on top.
One thing is dead certain our guys are INSANELY talented..they can tell a story in their songs, make you feel just by listening, and the humbleness they possess to this day is just unheard of…if one member grabs your attention you will soon be overtaken and become OT7 the deeper you fall into this hole….I’m a 58 year old woman who grew up loving Michael Jackson and rap music NEVER grabbed my attention …until I listened to the rap line💜💜💜💜
I don't know if you guys know this yet but suga actually got into a crash will working as a delivery driver and f up his shoulder he didn't tell anyone and in I think 2021 he finally got surgery and is ok p.s if I got the year for the surgery wrong I'm sorry 💜💜💜
love your guys reaction but you guys need to see him perform this live....i saw him in chicago in may and when he performed this song you can see how it affects him because its about what happen to him in the past. you can see the emotions and hear the emotion in his voice....here is a link thats one of the best fancams for amygdala live: ua-cam.com/video/dMsTFLEfSXY/v-deo.html please react to it!

He kept shooting himself in Daechwita and Haegeum...he says now AgustD will mot come back after last concert.
This song always gets me another great reaction guys ❤️🩹🎶🔥
Felicitări suga waw fără cuvinte ❤❤❤
Thanks guys for this 💜💜
The pills are pain relievers bec of the pain in his shoulder due to the accident. The unfortunate situations of his parents were all true tho. But good thing they surpassed it all, and they're all good now.
Wow this is very great can't get old .. thank you
Glad you enjoyed it
TBH.. one of my faves of his. So touching he shared so much
For me this song and video portrays what real depression feels like. The world tilted against you and impossible to get out. These guys put the world back on its axis for me 4 years ago, I'll never let it happen again. I love your reactions and laughter.💜🐨🇦🇺
This is beautiful and sad at the same time!! I still get goosebumps when I hear it!!
SUGA idol genius..i'm so proud of him🤗💜
Suga is a lyrical genius 💜💜💜
Saw this live in NY. Magnificent!
Those pills are pain relievers for his shoulder injury cause by the motor cycle accident that happened when he was doing part time delivery job before his debute.
You guys would like "First Love" as well...on the Wings album,it has a mv as well🤍💜🫡
That pill, he suffered with his shoulder injury, to the point that he cant raise his arm but he should dance and perform. Doctor prescribe him analgetic pills, and when those pills not working well anymore, he got shot before performing.
Should listen to agust d the last
This song is so deep and emotional
This song breaks my heart . .
Amygdala hits diffrent😢
when i first heard this song it made me cry like a baby
and later on he released this video song
i cried so hard
he's so strong and he gives me power to stay strong
i relate to suga in many aspects so his songs give me strength and also makes he cry the hardest
suga is not just a song writer
he's a poet
his lyrics are so beautiful
moonlight,snooze,seesaw,shadow,the last , set me free,first love,
these songs have very deep and raw lyrics
this is such a powerful song. i always feel the pain and sorrow whenever i hear or watch the mv.
All the things he has gone through are too much for anyone to handle. 😢
The accident happened while working as a delivery guy when he was a trainee and didn’t tell the company for fear they would cut him. He suffered with tremendous shoulder pain until he got surgery in late 2020.
I think he is one of the strongest people I know.🥹💜💜💜💜
And actually all 7 have gone through so much it’s one if the reasons I love and appreciate them so much. 🥰💜
Such an emotional song. 💜
This song was made from the younger experience in life of suga this is really a masterpiece of him because this is a true to life story
In his younger age suga work as a delivery boy to support his studies those times where BTS is just beginning on the carrier they suffer from poverty, yoongi suffering from deep depression also & anxiety and this motto accident while his going on duty car hits him he has shoulder fractures. If u want to know suga life story u can search about it in youtube. ❤
uri suga...💜💜💜💜💜💜💜
💜
highly recommend another song " The last"
When he did this in concert, it was even more difficult to watch.
🖤🇧🇷
YOONGY OUR BRAVE KITTEN 😿 !!! WE LOVE YOU 🤧💜🇰🇷🙏🐱🤧🤧
The accident and everything is real 💔💔😭💜
I don't know if you guys know this yet but suga actually got into a crash will working as a delivery driver and f up his shoulder he didn't tell anyone and in I think 2021 he finally got surgery and is ok p.s if I got the year for the surgery wrong I'm sorry 💜💜💜
Suga é um gênio, simplesmente isso.
AGUSTD D-day+ Huh please
I think you ready for the MMA BTS guys.. 😅.. Enjoy..
Have you reacted to the last? 😮 nice video ♡
love your guys reaction but you guys need to see him perform this live....i saw him in chicago in may and when he performed this song you can see how it affects him because its about what happen to him in the past. you can see the emotions and hear the emotion in his voice....here is a link thats one of the best fancams for amygdala live: ua-cam.com/video/dMsTFLEfSXY/v-deo.html please react to it!
Min Yoongi plans yo get a mental health pravti ioner liscense so he can better help other idols as his career progresses.
