  • Back in March I had my torn meniscus trimmed. I was running again within a few weeks and very positive. It's now six months later and I'm dealing with some setbacks. Join me on this run to find out more!

    Hope your knee feels better. I guess it's hard to balance overdoing it and boredom.

      Yeah, and it's also hard to know what's normal aggravation that can be managed and what's indication of potential injury. Damn legs!

    I hope your knees recover as fast as possible! It’s so frustrating not to feel completely at your best.
    Also, I really enjoyed the drone shots while you were running-they looked great!

    I’m 60 years old. I did 125 trail miles in May 2024. Early June I started with soreness in my Achilles. I went straight to my doctor. Micro tear. Rest and electro therapy plus massage. All good now. Love your channel.

    I'd say that being able to keep active has been what has helped your knee keep pretty strong. Steady and easy progress will see the best improvement. All the very best to continued progress!!

    We hope that the recovery continues...from experience it's not always linear, but consistent exercise and PT moves makes a real difference.

    Hope you'll get a full recovery man! Me, I'm now doing exercises like an old man to rehabilitate my knee :) Truly sucks, but at least I haven't broken anything - it's "just" overtraining - how that is even possible, don't ask me :)

    I feel your pain man. Literally. I am 3 weeks into my first 6 weeks on crutches. They repaired mine so apparently the down time is far greater because the repairs are delicate? So 3 more weeks locked in a brace on sticks and they re-evaluate, unlock the brace, then I can start the road to recovery and weening off the crutches. Sucks but I am thankful it wasn't worse.

    • @RhodySeth
      @RhodySeth  27 днів тому +1

      Yeah the repair is a much longer recovery. But hopefully you'll come out stronger! Rest up and take care.

      @RhodySeth thank you sir. Been rough sitting out on all the action. Brand new canoe came in a few days after surgery lol. Dying to get back outside. Take it easy on yours too! Watching you run makes me envious, which is crazy because my god do I hate it

    Good ole wickaboxet, some nights you'll get a great view of the stars on that rock. Keep at it dude, you're already leagues ahead of the average folk with good knees. Did you take any of that chicken mushroom home?

    Here is what you need to do and what you should do.... Your very athletic so your endurance is not the problem. You need to cut one of the run days out per week and make it a biking day. Biking is one of the best thing to heal the knees. The fluid motion gets the healing process in the joints done much quicker and with less impact. And on top of that it will bring a new audience to your channel on mountain biking trails. It's not boring and the footage is always exciting to watch. Throw the GoPro on a chest mount and you're golden, whether it's on a trail on a road. I've always wanted to put up mountain biking videos again but my lazy butt hasn't fixed my bike yet. Even if you're down to just 2 activities per week make 1 a bike exercise and 1 a run, eventually do it more frequent. I had 3 or 4 problems in the knee all taken care of at once including the meniscus and ACL, biking for me anyway was by far the best activity. Also stretches. Yoga very important or even just simple stretching. Just saying what worked for me.

    • @RhodySeth
      @RhodySeth  28 днів тому

      Thanks for the advice. You won't see me mountain biking any time soon - beyond not having the equipment, I'm just not much for riding in general. We do have a rowing machine in the basement that I had begun using during the winter. Then our oldest moved back home and resides down there now. Still it would be good to work in a rowing session instead of running.

      @@RhodySeth Do or do not, there is no try! 😉 In all seriousness, it's a hard balance. Do nothing, your body falls apart. Do to much, your body falls apart. Personally I'd rather err on the side of too much. I'd rather die fighting than die in my sleep of bordom.
