    A lot of comments here about not using tapwater. Did you hear him say it was like that when he bought the car? Use some active listening.

    I made the mistake of using tap water once. It caused my cooling system to do the same thing yours is doing. My old radiator was not rusty, or gunked up, I put tap water I. It, now my whole system looks like yours.

      Yes mine was like that when I bought it, literally solid junk no liquid. You can use tap water its just on how you maintain it.

    Tri-sodium phosphate from the hardware store with cascade dish detergent will truly clean this crap out. They took TSP out of the standard auto coolant cleaner stuff you buy at the parts house. Flush with it pretty strong and you’ll be in good shape.

      Yeah that's some good shit. Wish I would of thought about that when I had the car.

    Why the tap water where is the coolant? Dexcool is recommended for reason all that muck is yes lack of maintenence and from not use coolant and only water will destroy a cooling system wow.

      Lol yes I know. The reason I was using just tap water is because I knew the system was already a lost cause. If it wasn't so rusted and clogged I would of used 50/50 of distilled water and coolant, not just tap water. The owner before fuck that car up. Sad thing is he was a "mechanic".

    that block has rust in it along with some type of stop leak...that seems to be left in it....but this a good video.

      @@killrspeed00 Hey thanks for the video..my question 🙄 I have a 1987 C4 Corvette I can't find anything on my engine that looks like a bleeder valve for the coolant system. And I have only been able to find one video, with a guy that has a 87 C4 Corvette. He changed his antifreeze but he didn't bleed it. His video showed the air bubbles coming up from the radiator.

    • @killrspeed00
      @killrspeed00  4 роки тому

      If I'm not mistaken it's the l98 correct? If so they do not have a bleeder valve. You have to burp the system or go do a couple hard passes on it and the air bubbles should clear up, assuming that's your issue.

    That's what tap water does to your radiator, it's called electrolysis build up. I'd stop using that tap water.

    Stop using hose water that why you getting rust . Does that lt1 have the opti spark under water pump? Oh you answered that lololo Convert to coil pack if you have the cash. mine also has rust and blown head gasket .Just keep driving it cannot afford to fix.I also do not use a thermostats .But also because of head gasket leak I have no heat anyway

    • @killrspeed00
      @killrspeed00  6 років тому

      Lol I only use hose water because it was already so far gone when I got the car. I could use a spoon and take the old coolant junk because it had all hardened before I bought it. Yes coil pack on top is a lot better. I have the car parked and for sale. No more time or money for it.... Not worth it in my opinion.

      Pull the engine and work on it when ever you want :) long term project . Cya

    • @killrspeed00
      @killrspeed00  6 років тому

      Yeah it definitely needs a lot of work. But if it doesn't sell then I'm going to fix it up but also gut it. If it does sell then maybe a turbo kit for the mustang 😉.
