Could you do a better duel between Mace Windu the Jedi and Palpatine? We need to see what 4 Jedi masters and the dark lord of the Sith should be able to do. I imagine the most flashy it will ever be. You could keep the other Jedi other than Mace alive for a short time to show Palpatine's skill and how he could take them all out, even in a group. And with Mace, in the 1v1, you can have him struggle at first, but when he uses Vapad, he will quickly start to match Palpatine, then go blow for blow, at some point in a speedy succession, overpowering and disarming Palpatine. You should be palatine with older makeup, and then the other guys should be the other Jedi, but I think you should try to find a black man to play Mace. That will be a good touch and bring some black representation to Saber dueling.

Um, actually... There is enough evidence in *The Art of The Force Awakens, Star Wars Fascinating Facts,* and online articles to say neither JJ nor Rian wrote the Sequels. They adapted them to bring in new fans with a familiar feel. Fifteen years earlier (around working on the prequels), George had written an outline for the ST with Maul returning as the main villain, leading the Crime Syndicates (hence why he was brought back in *The Clone Wars* series. He brought in Darth Talon from the EU because he liked the character. She might not have looked like the Twi'lek portrayed in the comics, but she looked like Maul.
In 2012, he wrote the story treatments based on those outlines. Luke still would've died in VIII saving the Resistance. Killing him off wasn't their idea. He was also disenfranchised by the Jedi Way. Taryn was the original character who they eventually settled on the name Rey. The story had deep dives into the Midichlorians and the Whills. It didn't have her background, either.
People tell you what they want you to hear. Most are rage baiters, but some are grifters, making money off false controversy. They may have a deep love for what they think *Star Wars* is, and that's great! But they don't understand George Lucas's vision. The idea that Disney threw George's script came from him becoming upset that they removed the deep dives into lore to attract new fans. The best way to deal with these "tragic" strategies is to try to see and enjoy the films for what they are, and have patience they will use the deep lore in others.
This shows that Star Wars truly belongs and should be ran by the fans not some company. The fights and choreography is perfect

@@Mikestarwalker the location is probably the best I've seen in a Star Wars fan film (and makes a refreshing change from usual forest!), the choreography is great... the only problem is I couldn't make out the dialogue at all! You probably need to overdub it in future and avoid it being drowned out by the music.
This is an act of sheer brilliance. You have here such emotion, between your teams acting and choreography, that rivals if not surpasses the energy and raw feelings present in the Battle of Heroes.
You treat the named characters with respect, showcasing what we wanted without any pandering. Even the unnamed assailants are respected because they arent killed off by a student, they were taken down by THE GRAND MASTER, a brilliant act of story telling.
How can a someone spend 4 billion dollars on a franchise and destroy such a beloved character after barely using him

This is TOO good! You guys have a great ability to do this for a long time and NOT make mistakes! I can do it sometimes but I mostly forget some moves in my choreography. This is excellent! Loved seeing Luke at his full potential! Big difference from Skywalker Shadows Of Evil! 👍🏼👍🏼👍🏼👍🏼👍🏼

This is great but I'm also curious as to what a Vader vs Luke fight from ROTJ reimagined would look like with this style of choreography. Damn good stuff Mike, kudos to all the people involved here.

The BEST duel you’ve guys ever done imo! Cinematography was on point here. All the moving shots, drone shots, lightsaber clash fx, all are fantastic. The behind the back block at 3:43 was insane. Cuts between luke and the padawans are fluid and the music is interwoven perfectly

Awesome short film! This is how I wanted to see Luke Skywalker in the sequel trilogy. And it's who we all went to see in the Mandoverse content to come. Is that Mara Jade? Tbh I doubt Luke would try to train Erza. Erza has a lot of education behind him, some even Luke is lacking.
Most likely they would exchange notes and maybe train together, but it's unlikely to be a teacher disciple dynamic

Better than Disney Star Wars for sure, and I can tell a HUGE amount of effort and love went into making it. However, what is it that makes it look like cosplay, playground acting vs Hollywood cinematography? Some convincing parts, but on the whole the actors just weren't selling it. Not enough rehearsal? Though I'm sure they were practicing a lot. Probably budget... And unlike Hayden and Ewan, they didn't get a paid 6 month stint on just practicing, over and over. Then a lot of the acting and cinematography in the prequels was pretty rough too 😂

It really makes me think of the Jedi Temple Attack on Ossus (LEGENDS, 130 years after the events of Ep IV) where Darth Nihl and other Sith assault that stronghold. Kol Skywalker dies as a hero.
There is clearly a mix between Legacy Comics and KOTOR.

New lightsabers look so flimsy. Would be amazing to see old school rotoscoped metal pole like they did in the prequels. Amazing choreography though. Subbed
There will definitely be some roto to fix some of that in our May4 Cut, and more for the Ultra Cut! Metal poles provide no light to bounce around and illuminate the way sabers would in reality, which also makes VFX/roto over them work even better anyway
@@RenegadeFilmForce You don't need to emulate lightsabers in real life, they aren't real. The OG trilogy and Prequels didn't have them and their fight scenes were far more impact, tense and spectacular than anything the sequels did. I completely understand it's a lot more convenient for the post work and I don't envy you. You guys do incredible work (though you did break the "rule of 3rds" a couple of times. Aside from A+ content
My one critique and petition for the full video... Please please please give us better balanced audio. I can't understand most of the dialogue over the BGM and SFX
Same. I thought it was just me. Especially with the guys in masks. Otherwise this was spectacularly done!!! I cant wait until May 4th! Hopefully they can turn up the dialogue a little. :)

He's used it since ROTJ on Jabba's palace guards. Sometimes it's just the tactical thing to do

What I love about all these fan films is that they really are the epitome of the imaginations of all us kids who played with the figures and made our own "Sagas"...
I used to put figures in a plastic glass, fill it with water and whack it in the freezer to put them in "carbonite". I turned my bath into a set where the tiny hot water stream would melt the carbonite slowly.
Yes, maybe I took it to extremes. And I wouldn't have it any other way...
... And now I live in a time where I can see other "kids" do the same thing with actual media! In the 40 years of IT I have seen the best and wors of humanity cross my screen.
... This short film for me is what restores my passion for the field/tech.
Great job on the lighting, effects, and saberwork. A little more passionate voicelines and a deeper storyline would do wonders for this film.

As much as I enjoyed this and the first video, it depresses me to know that we'll never, ever get this kind of quality from Disney. They're far too proud to realizs this is what they need - to make a star wars project with real love of the story, the characters, and the art of saber choreography a la star wars.

The Jedi Academy Trilogy is a good place to start.
But it pays to read the Thrawn Trilogy before that

I believe that when you run with a lightsaber, you should keep it low at your side (of the hand you're holding it with, not crossed, bc you might get yourself cut)😂 .

Extraordinary much better choreography & intensity in the duels than anything Disney SW has given us. You also never need to question why they fight. Once again gives unofficial sources us far better SW than what the official does.
