I threw a green bean in my pleco tank last week and now they wont eat anything else. Just to test my theory i threw another in this morning and sure enough, they went NUTS for it. Now i may have to keep a can of green beans on hand all the time. I was happy they liked it but they liked it TOO much.
All those tacos that kept ever so subtly flashing on the screen really made me hungry. Must have tacos now! Jimmy's using a little trick from Aquarium Fight Club. Lol. Those loaches are going to be awesome in that tank.
Cory I always enjoy your fishroom tours and the outside tubs are awesome! It takes time to get those going and you have a great start on that water hyacinth plants and your koi and goldfish are beautiful! I've never seen the orange lazer corycats before and they are awesome!!! Thanks for the update video and look forward to the next one! Love, Susan
The plan to put the variatus outside should prove extremely fruitful. I did it last summer with just five adults and produced more fry than I had capacity to keep (several hundred fish from one mini pond). Didn't net them out until we'd had a few nights in a row of temps in the forties and had no losses that I could tell.
Alivia Manuel I know I need at least 4 more tetras or more but my 1 Siamese algae eater sits behind my plants and barely moves except for eating and he looks all sad. I think he's sad because his buddy jumped the tank and died... :(

I love your fish room, Cory! But I guess you can not cycle your 800g media in a tank with such a small bioload :) to cycle it properly you will need a similar bioload or feeding the bacteria with an uric acid solution in a seperate tank.

Those turtles will bask in the light more as they get older and bigger. I've had mini musk turtles before and they feel vulnerable at such a small size.

So I have four fish tanks in my house. One with goldfish (75gal), a 2.5gal with a baby betta male in it, a 10gal split with two male betta and a 20gal long with all the other baby betta in it. All tanks do just fine and don't grow algae except the 20gal. I can clean it one day and it's already changing color by the next day. All are fed the same (blood worms), all same water treatment. I don't know why it keeps doing this.

Hey cory do you know why a lot of my cherry shrimp seem to loose coloration? Some stay red while others almost turn white/transparent... cheers
