    Love your channel. Unlike most aquarium channels on UA-cam you show how to fix problems and go into more detail on aquarium issues instead of just trying to sell your products. Keep up the good work.

      Thanks for the suggestion Paraskevas. I'm planning to add more plants/fish and work on it more this coming week when it's not a trillion degrees in the house.

    Whenever we have a heatwave in the UK, it's like 30C or something, and no one has air-con, so it's kinda of a novelty. But technically, it doesn't get hot enough long enough to make the house very hot and then dramatically increase the temps of aquariums.

    Man I envy the weather you get where you live! I have the same digi thermometer in my fishroom which regularly records a high temp of 99....still not sure if its never hits 100 or if that thermometer cant record 3 digit temps! I get red in the face just walking into the fishroom to feed the fish lol! But your dehumidifier/bathroom exhaust fan dilemma....might be time to upgrade to a heat exchange or air to air exchange. Big initial investment but I think it would suit your purposes quite well. Keep adding on those karats.....my wife and I have been married 6 years now and shes still waiting for an engagement ring! (oh good...."only" 8.5!)

    • @AquariumCoop
      @AquariumCoop  8 років тому

      Yeah I almost ordered up an air heat exchanger. But I'm worried that since it is raining and humid most of the time outside of summer time it won't reduce the humidity much. So I thought I'd try a bathroom fan first just as an experiment.

  • @josephkrug8579
    @josephkrug8579 7 років тому

    With moving heavy racks etc I have found home depot's Furniture Dolly's to be great, they can hold up to 1000lbs and if you put a piece of plywood on them to make it a solid surface, then racks etc would be much easier to move around, assuming you dont have major up and down sections, but even so, with two, and a solid driveway it would make moving those racks a lot easier.

    I have some java fern I'm growing to keep the water oxygenated when they finally move in there, but for now my betta can play hide and seek in there.

    I have been searching for a video where I can see how you install your power strip and do you have like extra circuits in the breaker just for the power strips. I’m running into tripping my fish room breaker and I probably just should call an electrician. Also my wife says the same thing about the damn new wedding ring that’s massive. Lmfao I laughed so hard.

    hi cory.. having owned a fluval leds they really benefit by being closer to the water level.. for the 120deg span to work well so with the water level low and the light raised you might not be getting the best results.. an interesting factor will be my tank is only 15" wide front to back and i get glass algae front and back so it will interesting that your tank is much wider and see if you still get some

      +Aquarium Co-Op oh I got a good question of the stream sunday, what material do you think is the biggest double edge sword for the aquarium hobby, mine is acrylic, it let's us have massive volumes of water but it also gives us the cheap garbage kits that are not responsible to house a fish.

    That's the first tank room update I've seen. Amazing set up. Do you get your shelves custom fabricated? Never seen them before. Also like your discussion on humidity control, and issue I'm fighting in my garage. How's the exhaust fan doing now? Assuming since I live in NorCal our climates are similar enough. I was thinking dehumidifier, then a friend recommended an air exchanger, but I think exhaust fan is cheapest cost and less to operate too. Like to get your thoughts.

    • @AquariumCoop
      @AquariumCoop  8 років тому

      +Tim Howard exhaust fan is performing much worse than expected. Runs 24/7and lowers room humidity by like 10 on a good day.

    Wouldn't it be possible to just drain the large tank for the turtle on the bottom with a small pump?

    • @AquariumCoop
      @AquariumCoop  8 років тому

      That could be done, but everything in the fish room is automatic and a drainage pump like that can fail. Also if I put the turtle a tier higher, no problems with drainage anymore etc. But yes, always looking for more ideas.

    • @AquariumCoop

      Yeah, I worry about something clogging the impeller and then just pumping water onto the floor. But I do have that same setup you mention for my goldfish tank. The only tank in the building not on auto water change.

      I bought it on craigslist. The gentlemen I bought it from brought it with him from vietnam when he moved here years ago.

      Correction: The guy we bought it from had it custom made in the Philippines and had it shipped via freighter to the states when he moved here.

    how often should I use Seachem Iron in my tanks the bottle does not say how often

    • @AquariumCoop
      @AquariumCoop  8 років тому

      That's because it entirely depends on your setup. High light and co2 takes a lot more than low light. Typically start with low amounts and then go up from there gradually. I'd say start with dosing once a week.

    • @AquariumCoop

      I just use strong lighting. It happens naturally. It has the benefit of providing cover and first food for small fish fry.

    I'm new to your channel and like your work, so I apologize if this has been addressed before, but do you work with marine or brackish tanks at all?

    • @AquariumCoop
      @AquariumCoop  8 років тому

      I only do freshwater on the channel. In the past I have kept reef tanks and brackish species at stores I worked at etc. But other than some brine shrimp breeding etc, unlike to find much saltwater and brackish on this channel.

    so one of my 2 female guppies gave birth, looks like about 5-7 fry but I have loads of java moss so could be more, but both my females still look super pregnant and one boxed looking still and has been for over a week, any idea whats going on? can they give birth over the stretch of a week or something, been 2-3 days now since the had the fry. thanks Cory

    • @AquariumCoop
      @AquariumCoop  8 років тому

      +RATCAST HD most female guppies look pregnant all the time. Typically birth is done in a 24 hour period. The boxing out for a long time is weird though but without seeing itbin person its hard to know.

    Why don't ya offer your workers a small bonus to help you out at home?

    • @AquariumCoop
      @AquariumCoop  8 років тому

      Because it's against the law not to play employees their hourly wage. Plus I don't want my employees at my house, then I'd really never get away from the store. This is my relaxation time to not deal with the stresses of the retail store.

      But yeah i totally get the get away from work thing, its a hobby not a job.

    Hey man, Im just wondering do you buy fish from randomers like myself if I were to sell you some? I breed betta's but I am in thailand and just been looking into shipping my fish internationally so wanted to see if LFS owners like you would buy from someone like me if I had good looking betta;s

    • @AquariumCoop
      @AquariumCoop  8 років тому

      +Srib I woukdnt just because of shipping,bi typically go through a transhipper.

    • @AzTechGFX
      @AzTechGFX 8 років тому

      Aquarium Co-Op oh so for your fish you basically just get it directly right? Because the only way I can ship fish would be a transhipper over in the states who will have to wait to pick up and distribute it through my buyers that way. Guess it's a hassle, how do the people you deal with ship then if you dont mind me asking?
      Do you get any fish's from Thailand?
