Whoa, never heard this version before! I like it better than any other version. Five minutes of opening! It's hard to not think of "Dazed and Confused" with that intro. Bravo, Jimmy and band.

In 1969 I was a teenager and was happily living through the Golden Age of what became known as "classic rock" music. Jimi Hendrix was a sensation and an influential part of the soundtrack of my youth. Gone too soon and I remember thinking his sound was evolving to a beautiful and less frenetic pace when I heard about his death on the radio. Thanks for the contribution to music history and memories of the era Jimi.
I saw Hendrix at the Cafe Wha in 1966 and saw him jam with the Butterfield Blues band in the Cafe Au Go Go in 1968. I've gone to more Rock, Jazz and Classical concerts than you could ever dream of so step off jerk!
Noel Redding and Ginger Baker are laying down a roadmap to the Red House. And Jimi Hendrix?, Well he's looking at all of it while he's Seeing it. Spare Fullness.
Jimi said that he chose Noel Redding to be his bass player because he "liked his hair style". Anyhow, Redding was always a guitar player first and foremost, and would eventually prove it. They were actually friends and shared musical influences like Buddy Holly amongst others. However, at one point Redding wanted more of a role in the band, but management wanted other things, and anyway Hendrix's management wasn't exactly...
Redding sucked on bass and didn't know how to get a decent sound and that's half the battle, you can suck and if you get a good sound people will like your playing, it's too bad because Mitchel was a great drummer. Hendrix himself played most of the bass starting with Axis.
@@G8GT364CI I understand that yes with Axis Jimi played most of the bass lines. However, Noel wasn't complete trash like he has been out to be. God rest his soul.
JImi the great innovator, freedom. The magic of improvisation. Thanks, Jimi
