It's true that the subway is very cheap (0.80 euro to anywhere), but the taxis on the airport are not rip-off either. Just take them from the Taxi stand - trip to anywhere in Sofia should be less than 20 euro. Really nice video, never seen modern Sofia so... fresh :)

Up to 1999 Balkan Airways which is the previous now dismantled Bulgarian airways, was the 5th largest in the world and had a fleet of around 70 planes. Also in total nowadays all of the Bulgarian flight companies in total have a fleet of around 25-30 planes.

They're pretty damn good for a European Airline. Amazing cabin crew, usually they give you two drinks services, newspapers, and include meals.

Very nice flight report. You were lucky to book a Bulgaria Air ticket and have the flight operated with Bulgaria Air metal. Several months ago, I had a flight with Bulgaria Air but it was operated by BulAir which is a separate charter airline. I understand that FB has a limited number of aircraft and they have to wet lease. But then it's weird to see FB aircraft in Malpensa operating flights MXP-FCO for Air Italy. I get the feeling wet leasing is more profitable for Bulgaria Air than operating their own flights.
Dim Mih there is a reason for that! Firstly Bul air is actually part of Bulgaria air and opperste for them, bulgaria air has a had a shortage of aircraft because they leased two aircraft to their partner Air Italy to help them cope with the max crisis that grounded their aircraft. Last but not least recently bulgaria air annouced they are going to buy new aircraft!

Funny that they cant afford a jet bridge at SOF but they can at FRA which I'm sure would be far more expensive. But still a higher service standard than you would get on a 2:20 flight in the States in Economy.

You are totally wrong. Bulgaria air is affording air bridge, I used to have it. Maybe in this time there was not a free one.
Also I’ve flown in and out of that airport on ČSA Lufthansa and KLM and taken a bus from those planes as well (not every time) so it depends more on what gates are available at what time…… cool little smug “review” dude
