Thank you for your incredible music, Mike. Your lyrics are second to none - truly a pleasure to listen to. Wishing you all the very best for future songs and concerts.
Passenger As always a great new song. On the off chance you may read this, here we go; I wrote this poem in tribute to you, Mike, and anybody else involved in creating Passenger's music. It seemed to start like so many other stories, Sitting with somebody Staring at the Stars. My Heart was on Fire with Patient Love. But then like a Needle in the Dark, She remarked that she’s lost the spark. She no longer loved me like she used to, She had no idea why, and we bid adieu. I know that I Let Her Go... But now I have to Let Her Go How the fuck do I Let Her Go? I need to know. And so began my Darkest Days, My mind going in Circles replaying all the ways I wasted her time and mine. Each remembrance a new hole of doubt dug deep into Hallowed memories, now hollowed. The Holes spread from The Girl I Once Knew And grew till they covered almost everything I do, leaving me askew. With a Fear of Fear, I adhere to insincere thoughts and behaviours. Sedation through rumination, frustration through self-imposed limitations. Riding in the front seat of my automobile with a brick on the pedal and a vacant wheel, I can’t help but feel trapped as my loved ones on the sidewalk spiel the same suggestions. I want to listen, say I’ve learned my lessons, yet still I chug on… Despondently, I turned to the stereo to distract from my dreary days And heard the Words that stirred me. Spurred me to realize I didn’t have to Travel Alone. See while everyone was shouting to tell me I was heading in the Wrong Direction, your Whispers told me to stop, to check my engine, make sure my suspension’s working as intended, and that it doesn’t matter if I’m not moving for a while. Because no mile is worthwhile when we’re the Passenger in our own car. Without the restless rumbling of the engine ringing in my ears, I notice the deafening silence. I try to listen, and all around me are the sounds I couldn't hear before, muffled shouts, lots of laughter, and even a few whispers. Rolling down the tinted windows, I can see All the Little Lights I have surrounding me. Each there to selflessly brighten my path. Before, these went unnoticed because I was fixated on the fading of a floodlight. Now I know I can use all these little lights to Scare Away the Dark. And maybe now that I'm not blinding myself, and that I know what to listen out for, I can start up my engine, take the brick off of the pedal and start to drive again.
I stand by my opinion that Passenger is a sensational lyricist and seems to capture the essence of life in each song, each line even. Carpe diem, my friends. peace x
Lyrics: We used to never say never Used to think we'd live forever Flying free beneath the sun. Days go running and hiding Weeks go slipping and sliding, Years leave quicker every time they come. This song is definately about Mikes friends in the music industry. Stu, Ed, etc. Beautiful video, beautiful song and a beautiful person. Mike you are wonderful.
People may call this depressing but I call this talented, I call this making a story in a song amazingly and doing what music Mike Wants, not how the world wants it to be, all I can say is thank you Mike for blessing us with your amazing music, you are an amazing artist I will always come back to and always love :)
sherrilynn209 My words exactly. I love Mike. His words are wonderful... Beautiful. Perfect. I can listen to one of his songs or a song he's covered for every situation in my life.
I start every day listening to Passenger and this song is always first. One of the few songs that make me cry and motivate me to make something of every moment in life.
I live 1 hour away from Ottawa, where passenger will be performing in September! I'm so excited! I've always wanted to see passenger live! Also I would like to say that I don't think too many people really grasp how skilled passenger is at guitar. I have been playing acoustic guitar for years and, although Passengers song aren't impossible to master, they do take me longer than most other songs. The kind of creativity and detail that passenger puts into his music, lyrics and notes, is amazing.
Jon the Camel You're so lucky! The closest show for me is Chicago, and it's a couple states away. I hope you have fun! Also, his guitar skills are so amazing!
Jon the Camel Uhm.. you really think so? I mean, the chords and patterns (that are almost the same in every single song by the way) are very simple, at least that's what it seems to me. I learn his songs very quickly, it takes me like 15 minutes, the "hardest" part is always the intro :/ Do not missunderstand me, I love his music and he is my favorite artist on Earth, his songs are perfect the way they are and I will never be able to write a song that beautiful and meaningful , it's just that I don't think his songs are so hard to be played :P Anyway, it's amazing that you will see him live! Enjoy! :D
D. Aguiar I think it depends on how long you've been playing and (if you're self taught) how well you taught yourself(or were taught) how to play. Not everyone has had a lesson. It might even have a little bit of a difference if you play another instrument or not. Those are just my thoughts on why I think you think his songs are easy to play while Jon doesn't. :D
Aurora2 I guess you're right, but I insist that his music is melodically simple (but beautiful) regardless of who is learning. It used to take me a lot first too but it happened because I was a beginner at playing guitar when I started to learn his songs, in fact, the first song I ever learned was Feather on the Clyde and perhaps Jon is having troubles because he is more used to play strumming than fingerpicking. The songs that are more different are the ones of Wicked's Man Rest album. Ok, I feel like I'm starting to sound a little pretentious, I'm sorry u_u!! I've been learning guitar for over a year and I owe all my progress to ***** who is a master at teaching guitar, his youtube lessons are amazing, if any of you are interested he has some songs of Mike :) !!
The moment when he gives a hug to Ed Sheeran is pure , genuin and telling. Personally I love both of them so much . They bring joy to my everyday life.
Thank you some much, Mike. You bring so much joy to my day when I listen to your music. I hope you'll come to visit Holland soon after Lowlands, because i can't go there. BUt i love your music and I can't stop listening to it. You are such a great talent. Thank you for the emotions you make me feel, happiness, sadness but most of all I feel understood. You say/sing the things i can't express. Thank you for sharing your huge talent with all of us. I wish you all the luck for the rest of your days and I hope you'll keep writing songs. I love you, Mike xx Geke (a girl who loves your music, from the Netherlands)
This song almost brung me to tears. Going off to Uni in 2 weeks and it's made me realize how much I'm going to miss my friends. They're three guys who helped me through the darkest period of my life and are more like brothers than anything.
Thank you Mike Rosenberg, thank you for your music. It's hard for me to find words to describe your music, and of course, your voice. I like a lot of artists, many have very different voices, yours is magical. I was at your concert at the Olympia in Paris. Your reprise of "the sound of silence" moved me, like many people. Excuse me for my vocabulary, I'm not good in English. I always thought that posted a comment like mine was stupid and perhaps unnecessary and it's not wrong, but I do it once. I like Stu Larsen and the Once, still great voices. I don't know if you will return in France, maybe you're not very famous, but, I saw you once and I heard you, like millions of people. And like millions of people, I post a comment to say that I love what you do and it's very long ! And since I decided to "waste" my time, I can say that my favorite song it's "night vision binoculars". I know it's not a song about you but it's beautiful. Your songs make me travel and transports me. Thank you Passenger.
I was in that crowd at Wembley! It was so amazing to see you perform, I loved your set and you've got a great sense of humour. Hopefully I can see you perform again in the future.
Passenger will always remind me of the fall (my favorite time of year) and I always start listening to his music so much more every September/October. I remember my best friend and I went to see him open for Ed Sheeran in Orlando in 2012 a few days after my 17th birthday. His music just reminds me of a time when I was really happy (not that I'm not happy now).

This song really reflect how fast time is passing by our lives. I miss old memories, person who have walked into my life, and things i regret, but in the end, we will get old; and you know; just cherish what you used to had, and love what is coming. God Bless.
His musics always have similarities in the melody, but the intresting thing about it that Mike makes something differenc in his songs and it will be unforgettable. Thank you Mike!
Ohhh funny how you published that song last year on my birthday but only now did I discover it! It's so beautiful, so gentle and pure. Thank you for putting great music out there x
All i need is solitude and a big playlist of passenger songs with this song on top of it. Your voice , lyrics give warmth and peace for mind . Inspires a lot in low times. Eagerly waiting for the day when you give a thought for visit to India .
Hi 🙂 I understand that your songs probably weren't written thinking of people like me, but I wanted to let you know how much your music has carried me through such a hard time. From around the age of 12 I have struggled with my sexuality and when I was 16 I found your music through suggested videos on UA-cam. I used to watch many videos during the day and during sleepless nights and even though the lyrics didn't relate to my situation your music made me cry in a way that helped my accept who I am. I am now 19 and have passed my first year of medical school as an openly gay teenager. I am a massive fan and appreciate your authenticity, it has helped me to overcome huge obstacles and appreciate who I am. Thank you for everything you have done and will do in the future, it means more than I can ever explain. Thank you so much.
Yes passenger! Thank you so much... Your concert in South Africa was truly unforgettable and enlightening. Your music has the power to change my life and the lives of others, all for the better. Thank you... This song is incredible.
you are my favorite artist ever you make real music so pure you take music back to what its supposed to be about there's such power in the lyrics you sing you make music actually matter like it used to such an amazing artist
You OPENED for Ed Sheeran. They got it the wrong way round!! Looking forward to seeing you in LA in September. Love you and this vid made me very homesick because I am a Brit Abroad...
StrangeSocks It's kind of like when you turn back for that one moment, and look at all the shattered dreams on the ground. But they are like starshine instead-dazzling with all the life that was. We can only connect the stars of our memories and life in retrospect because while you walk forward and experience everything for the first time...it's was a sea of darkness. It was limitless. Now...narrow. Narrow. u\\\u
We used to never say never Used to think we'll live forever Flying free beneath the sun. I remember,... dont eva let the ones You love go tomorrow,...... embrace every single moment,... love til Your hearts explode with emotion,.. fight for your life, and neva let them go alone,.... losing it for real is a wholly different battle,... live embrace and love xxx

Thank you for your incredible music, Mike. Your lyrics are second to none - truly a pleasure to listen to. Wishing you all the very best for future songs and concerts.
Here! You're my idol :'3 Have a nice day
Passenger As always a great new song. On the off chance you may read this, here we go;
I wrote this poem in tribute to you, Mike, and anybody else involved in creating Passenger's music.
It seemed to start like so many other stories,
Sitting with somebody Staring at the Stars.
My Heart was on Fire with Patient Love.
But then like a Needle in the Dark,
She remarked that she’s lost the spark.
She no longer loved me like she used to,
She had no idea why, and we bid adieu.
I know that I Let Her Go...
But now I have to Let Her Go
How the fuck do I Let Her Go?
I need to know.
And so began my Darkest Days,
My mind going in Circles replaying all the ways
I wasted her time and mine.
Each remembrance a new hole of doubt dug deep into
Hallowed memories, now hollowed.
The Holes spread from The Girl I Once Knew
And grew till they covered almost everything I do, leaving me askew.
With a Fear of Fear, I adhere to insincere thoughts and behaviours.
Sedation through rumination, frustration through self-imposed limitations.
Riding in the front seat of my automobile with a brick on the pedal
and a vacant wheel, I can’t help but feel trapped as my loved ones
on the sidewalk spiel the same suggestions. I want to listen, say
I’ve learned my lessons, yet still I chug on…
Despondently, I turned to the stereo to distract from my dreary days
And heard the Words that stirred me. Spurred me to realize I didn’t
have to Travel Alone.
Come to Brazil !
I stand by my opinion that Passenger is a sensational lyricist and seems to capture the essence of life in each song, each line even.
Carpe diem, my friends. peace x
Passenger is one of the few artists left that writes songs with meaning and takes their time with it and sings it with even more meaning
I lost hope in my life but when I listened to this song I came back to my senses. thanks for inspiring me.

LYRICS // WHEN WE WERE YOUNG
We used to never say never
Used to think we’d live forever
Flying free beneath the sun
Days go runnin’ and hiding
The weeks go slipping and sliding
Years leave quicker every time they come
Remember when we were young
Look back to the best of days
Collecting our yesterdays
As they build up one by one
Oh how we beg and we borrow
Say we'll do it tomorrow
But tomorrow never seems to come
We used to never say never
Used to think we’d live forever
Flying free beneath the sun
Days go runnin’ and hiding
The weeks go slipping and sliding
Years leave quicker every time they come
Remember when we were young
When we were boys on the beach
Everything was in reach
I know it’s hard to remember
But oh how the years they vanish
I always wanted to learn Spanish
And travel round South America
We used to never say never
Used to think we’d live forever
Flying free beneath the sun
Days go runnin’ and hiding
The weeks go slipping and sliding
Years leave quicker every time they come
Remember when we were young
Remember when we were young
Remember when we were young
Pure Art .. hats off to the video maker
Who else gets inspired by his songs to keep trying and never stand down
Yes. same
Hope my friend!
This song really reflect how fast time is passing by our lives. I miss old memories, person who have walked into my life, and things i regret, but in the end, we will get old; and you know; just cherish what you used to had, and love what is coming. God Bless.
From a fellow song writer....your beyond comparisons brother. Thank you!
When We Were Young!! is special
His music definitely tugs at the heartstrings ,so lovely but I always end up crying and I just love the videos that go with them purely outstanding.
I was sort of "binge-listening" to your music all day today; and then I saw this and I was like: YES.
And so the binge continues.
His musics always have similarities in the melody, but the intresting thing about it that Mike makes something differenc in his songs and it will be unforgettable. Thank you Mike!
this captures why I love him so much
Ohhh funny how you published that song last year on my birthday but only now did I discover it!

I am a massive fan and appreciate your authenticity, it has helped me to overcome huge obstacles and appreciate who I am. Thank you for everything you have done and will do in the future, it means more than I can ever explain.
Thank you so much.
I love how you have a way of making me feel like I'm right there with you.

Well life gets narrower the further you go
Suns set before they rise
Luka Acimovic
It’s there in the shadows where nobody goes*
It's there in the dark, but what good is it though?
its a vanishing point on a shimmering road
StrangeSocks It's kind of like when you turn back for that one moment, and look at all the shattered dreams on the ground. But they are like starshine instead-dazzling with all the life that was. We can only connect the stars of our memories and life in retrospect because while you walk forward and experience everything for the first time...it's was a sea of darkness. It was limitless. Now...narrow. Narrow. u\\\u
At long last i found you..Passenger, you light up my life, merci, j'adore. xx
This is the true musician.
this man sing about real life story. he's one of the best song writer ever. wish i could get the chance to meet a legend like him
We used to never say never
Used to think we'll live forever
Flying free beneath the sun.
Days go running and hiding
The weeks go slipping and sliding,
Years leave quicker every time they come
Remember when we were young
Look back to the best of days
Collecting our yesterdays
As they build up one by one
Oh, how we beg and we borrow
Say we'd do it tomorrow,
But tomorrow never seems to come.
We used to never say never
Used to think we'll live forever
Flying free beneath the sun.
Days go running and hiding
The weeks go slipping and sliding,
Years leave quicker every time they come
Remember when we were young
When we were boys on the beach
Everything was in reach
I know it's hard to remember
but oh how the years they vanish
I always wanted to learn Spanish
And travel around South America
We used to never say never
Used to think we'll live forever
Flying free beneath the sun.
Days go running and hiding
The weeks go slipping and sliding,
Years leave quicker every time they come
Remember when we were young, oh oh ooh
Remember when we were young, oh oh ooh
Remember when we were young, oh oh ooh
