It's nearly been a year since I first posted about my struggles with burnout. It's been a difficult year with many different twists and turns - many that I would have never expected - that landed me here. I feel like I have finally been able to take the steps that I've needed to in order to move forward productively in my life and I'm very grateful to get to share this journey with out here!

There is a young Woman who moved to our area and opened a shop called
    Blessed Be Tea.
She sells many Green Witch items she creates.
Many classes and other community events.
Her business has become very successful and our area is very tourist driven here in Northern Michigan.
The point is she followed her dreams and succeeded.
You will find your path, try not to overthink what you want but follow your heart.
    You got this !!🙂♥️

Speaking from my own artist's soul and experience, the "creative" person can be besieged by a constant stream of ideas screaming for manifestation and/or things they want to learn (or at least try once), while at the same time are burdened with thinking they never do enough or don't do things as well as they could have done. These mental battles can certainly add to burnout. That said, I feel that burnout has a great deal to do with unprocessed or even unrecognized grief. Grief over something lost, such as a sense of community, a cherished home, a beloved animal companion, or anything else that leaves an internal ache or emptiness. It can even be grief over something that a person wasn't particularly fond of, like a messy divorce or getting fired from a job. A loss is a loss, and grief is a natural reaction to loss. Unprocessed grief -- or even going through the grieving process in general -- can leave us unbalanced, fatigued, foggy-minded, and frustrated. Anyway, just offering some food for thought to anyone struggling to find their "life purpose".

I have lived as a witch in the forests of Maine my entire life, if I left the rural life I would have no idea what to do with myself so I can fully understand that struggle. I truly hope you find exactly what it is you're looking for and find your peace.

Learning to live where we are now instead of where we wish we were is one of the hardest lessons in life. But it is also one of the most rewarding. One of the phrases I've found most helpful when coming to terms with my own situation has been: "Acceptance isn't the same as Giving Up". Accepting where I am now doesn't mean I'm giving up on ever being where I want to be it just means embracing the present moment rather than letting it slip by pining over some future that may or may not happen. It's a lesson I have to keep reminding myself of time and time again, but it's worth it.

I went from a San Francisco hipster to an off-grid wild child in the Mountains. I had no problem with composting toilets made from 5-gallon buckets or well water or solar-based electricity (PGE often shuts off electricity in rural areas). Raw lands are much more affordable and much easier to come by. And these primitive ways of living make me feel closer to Mama Earth. I recently did a vision quest for 4 days and 4 nights without eating or drinking, and I will never forget how thirsty I was and grateful for the lessons Mama Earth taught me in the wilderness.

I moved to Florida, to be closer to my aging parents, from my home in rural upstate NY. I’ve been in Florida (which has become just awful) for 9 years and I spend a lot of time thinking about when/how I can leave. I miss the mountains and the woods and the seasons and the streams. I feel so disconnected from nature down here, so I totally get what you are saying. I’ve gone to great lengths to try to make my backyard a place of nature to make the best of it while I’m here. But I still cannot wait to leave. Nothing but good vibes on the new venture. ❤

I'm so pleased that you've found something to ignite passion for you again. :) Burnout isn't something to take lightly; you have to heal your head and heart or you'll eventually break apart completely and not be able to do ANYTHING. I came very close to that point (with autistic burnout) and spent almost 6mos barely functioning while caring for the household and four kids. I'm finally coming out of the dark bit by bit, but I know that I'm still tender; the broken bits are mended, but not yet solid. So I'm trying to be gentle with myself. Don't forget to be gentle with YOURSELF, too.

I am in such a bad place mentally right now, due to burn out and the feeling that I have no purpose in my life.
I live in a crowded polluted big city, working in a corporation and I feel that I am melting in a perpetual nervous breakdown. I can't seem to find any solutions to get away from all of this, as most of them require money that I simply do not have right now.
I, too, dream of a rural simple life, surrounded by forests, flowers, plants, vegetables, chickens, dogs and cats.

I have been following you since the pandemic, and it has been fantastic to see you grow and share your journey. The fantastic balance of feminine energy you bring to this space is so great. Compassion for the earth and the way you share life are so awesome. I will say that the changes you have made to shifting to 60fps from 24fps have given me a new fondness for the 24fps. 60fps is so hyper real versus 24fps that seems to be softer and more cinematic if that makes sense. Thanks for sharing your journey and creative passion!

Oh how I wish we could have a cup of tea and chat about running an herb biz. There's so much to consider: practioner or product maker, teacher, etc. Every state has different laws about selling products. Here in Massachusetts it's very strict, not like Vermont where you can do it easier. I love teaching so get asked to lead herb walks, classes, lectures, etc. It's my passion to empower people to make their own remedies. You'll find the path that's right for you.

I have had an herbal and art biz over 40 years now. I began with 20 years of shows then opened my own little shop. I felt the need to teach others and help them with their own paths. I run a couple fb chat groups and we have a yearly conference here in upstate NY. Suppliers of base ingredients & packaging and expert herbslist s come in to teach. This year we are focusing on just what you are up to. :) starting a business. Pricing and packing etc. at any level.
I am happy with my own little eclectic shop Country Artist Botanicals here on my old country hill where I work one on one with my customers now and don’t miss the rat race of big wholesale or set up and breakdown of shows. I also love heading wildcrafting walks and small classes here in my studio. You will find your happy spot. It’s a journey. Mine brought me back to where I began :) good luck! Blessed be!

It has been a long time since I commented on your videos, and you mentioning the nostalgia that you felt after your visit home prompted me to look at one of your 3-year-old vids and that made me nostalgic for your earlier work. Back then your videography was superb, your craft was fresh, and you were happier. With one exception, when you and the W of Wonder Lust were trying out "potions" on New Year's Eve, in my most humble opinion your work has suffered. I have always viewed burnout (for me at least) as a warning that my cup is empty and I need to care for myself, nurture myself, and find what will be my new passion before I can can give back to others. When I listen and am gentle with myself during burnout, I find I come out of it much sooner. It is very hard to focus solely on yourself when you have spent your life helping others. I think this is my favourite recent video of yours and I'm really excited to see where you go with all this. I've been with you since before the pandemic, both of your channels, and this is the first time I felt compelled to comment because the honesty and openness actually moved me. I really relate to where you're at. I'm really happy to follow along on your journey. ❤

Hello! I just saw your channel today but your rawness, and your search for self gentleness is something that really resonates with me. Finding ourselves in such a busy and sometimes unforgiving-feeling world can be so difficult. I look forward to your future videos and I'm delighted that you are choosing a path of doing things you love that spark passion in you. Keep going! We're here for you!! ❤

Pace yourself, make sure all your legal duckies are in their rows, and always, and I do mean ALWAYS, do what brings you peace. Changing gears is natural, necessary, and expected occasionally. If we were a car and kept running at only 2nd gear while trying to go either faster or slower, we'd stall and eventually break down! I wish you the best in all that you do, and may you find a home that fits your desires, needs, and has the community you want with it.

How exciting! Can't wait to see what you come up with. I also live in a big city and am always looking for ways to live a more rural lifestyle. Even if it's just growing a few herbs and knitting.

Hey I'm so grateful you sat down to share. I cannot express how much your journey synchronize with what I've been going through for years. The struggle yet beauty of being pulled in so many directions and learning to cope with societal constructs that are weiry to embrace such a life. You are beautifuland I can't wait to learn what you have to teach

I will be really excited to see the shift your new path takes. I do not find all the details boring because I think they are things many of us are also trying to figure out.
Coming from someone who is searching for her purpose and occasionally struggling with it as well, I sincerely hope you find relief and enjoyment in your new focus. We can all only do what is available to us at the time being. If you have any tips or things you have learned how how to become part of a community in a new place I'd love to hear them. I feel like it should be as easy as starting to participating in things ... but for me at least it is not.

Thanks for sharing with us Annie, enjoyed your video very much. I can so relate to you with so many ideas for creative business ideas and deciding which to do first. Love all your videos, but please take time to do what you need to do for yourself. We will be here when you decide to make a video or two.

thank you for sharing this part of your path, i think it resonates with a lot of us :) and i so appreciate how generously you share patterns, recipes, knowledge, experiences with us. youre some distant form of a mentor or teacher to a lot of people- ive learned a lot from you about sustainability and working with the earth where you are. youve had such a positive impact and youre so mindful, and keep things so accessible. thank you
for the online store- i think a lot of us will support it in whatever form it is, not just in the form youd like it to be. experiment, offer first picks to patreons for the limited small batch things, make cute branded clothes and stickers, little charms or tea mixes, make mistakes, create! we'll be there while youre figuring it out, not just when you finish

(I'll be sticking it out because my husband's family is here, but the PNW freeze can feel VERY real, especially when you're coming from rural, "small town" vibe-type places. I'm from Wyoming. :) Thinking of you)

I've been ruminating similarly for my art/ways to find myself again, and I think starting small is a great idea. It will grow with time, and I don't know if I was around during that time but I found you pre-covid, somewhere around 2018-2019, and I would love to see your workings again and be able to support them this time!
As someone who lives in Oregon with a similar housing market, I completely feel you. Don't lose hope - I keep one eye out always. The right place will come exactly when it is meant to. I try to keep faith in that as much as I can 😅
