      It helps to have a billion person workforce, plus, there are so, so many factories in Guangdong where Teampie assembles these amps, a lot of people in that area have at least some experience doing factory and/or assembly work. I imagine finding experienced people to work on the assembly line isn't very difficult. Plus, they are already in China where all the raw materials and components are made. Teampie definitely has an advantage in that regard as well. They can pump out as many amplifiers as they need.

    Tiffany was a brand of electronics parts, imported by New York City based M Berns Industries. They made RCA connectors, power cables, and power line conditioners among other things. At some point about 30 years ago they got into a legal dispute, changed their name to Tiff, and then went out of business soon thereafter in 1991. A friend of mine worked for them at the time. I really can't tell you why "Tiffany style" has become a generic term for panel mount RCA sockets, although they certainly did make those at the time.

    • @catch22frubert
      @catch22frubert 3 роки тому +2

      I'm not sure why you would wait. These amps have build quality and power output equal to the JP amps. They come with the same bass knob. The 5500.1 and the 7500.1 are awesome amps, and they are inexpensive. You can get the 7500.1 for $725 including shipping if you order straight from Teampie, or Jones Subwoofer Solutions has them for $899 shipped if you want to buy from a US company that offers these amps under the JSS brand. @@wal $899 for a 7k is a really good price these days. Even if they don't quite do rated on the certified tests. I would prefer they name and rate the amplifiers for what they do on the certified tests, so this would be a 3500 watt amplifier to me. Its always better in my mind to call it a 3500.1 and have an amp be under rated than it is to call it a 4000.1 and not do 4000 watts certified. Same for the 7500. Just call it a 7k and that does 7300 or whatever on the certified tests. Even though the power to price ratio is the same either way, it makes a company much more appealing and trustworthy if they slightly under rate the amps rather than slightly over rate them.

    I wouldnt get myself involved with a distribution company with this amplifier until I extensively abused ten of those amps and put them to the test for months. I personally would sell it as an 2500 watt amp and make the statement that its not recommended to operate in 1 ohm just to stay away from warranty issues

He has his fans but critics also but one thing is he will not deal with people that are aggressive or rude and those type of people are the ones that tend to stomp there feet the loudest. I've always been polite and payed him on the spot and it's always been a pleasant transaction. If if you prefer the experience of a shiny new box having that big brand name on it you probably should just go that route but if that's not a priority you can have as good but likely better performance for considerably less money then he's a good option.

    • @minus3dbintheteens60
      @minus3dbintheteens60 3 роки тому

      The 2 different types are, either a solid panel of sockets that's soldered directly to the PCB, or individual RCA sockets that are individually connected to the PCB with wire

    • @raymo6795
      @raymo6795 3 роки тому

      @@minus3dbintheteens60 ...Thanks for the info.."Tiffany" are the type that are directly mounted to the PCB? I once had an amp that I broke the RCA inputs. It was not " panel mounted". It was a screw that went into a piece of plastic that housed 2 RCA connectors, and the screw had stripped and I pushed the inputs into the amp while connecting the RCA connectors.(do you follow?). I thought this must be the reason for "panel mount" or "Tiffany" style. I thought "Tiffany" style simply meant that there was a nut that secured each RCA to the amp. I see no reason why all are not panel mounted. It is better and can't really cost that much more, perhaps a few cents.

    I noticed the amp draw was waaay below what it was sucking when on the amp dyno! (And the port was chuffing like crazy). I don't understand how 2, 3, 4 small speakers can "handle" this kind of power! A speaker is a diaphragm of flapping paper. There is a physical limit as to how much air it can move. This equates to acoustic energy that moves our ear drums, right? In my opinion, if your amp can produce (dissipate) over 2Kw of audio output, the only way to properly "convert" that usable energy would to be to build a bass cab to hold like 8 to10 15" drivers each rated around 500 watts min and install in a huge 500LB box that's properly tuned for the driver's specs! Really? Very impressive amp BTW.

    • @balisongsnbeats.9219
      @balisongsnbeats.9219 3 роки тому +1

      There are many single subs that can handle all this amp has and more. You have a slight understanding of the way it works.
      Understand this, speakers, speakers in general are the most inefficient electro-mechanical devices ever invented. Only 3% of the energy given to them is used to make sound, the other 97%+ is turned straight to heat
      Also, there is an impedance curve, a 1ohm speaker will never see the 4000 watts a properly rated 1 ohm stable 4k will make, as it will never actually be one ohm

    • @curtchase3730
      @curtchase3730 3 роки тому +1

      @@balisongsnbeats.9219 Umm. I have more than a slight understanding of loudspeakers. Yes, some real inefficient speakers may only turn 3% of the amp power into usable acoustic energy. A piston gasoline engine is lucky to put more than 18% of the fuel it burns to the wheels! So, why put 2Kw + into a single or dual speaker when it may have the ability to turn it into heat without failure, instead of dividing up those watts into several drivers distributing the energy to multiple cones to move more air? What would you rather have under the hood of your car? ONE huge 350ci piston...Or 8 smaller pistons distributing the usable HP more evenly with less heat concentration? I built a line array speaker column to use as a center channel for my home theater. It has 8 5" midrange driver speakers in a row. When I listen to it at say 15 feet away, it sounds like one 10" speaker. When I put my ear up to ONE speaker, I can just barely hear it playing! And, boy it can get loud if I crank on it!

      I don't understand people when they say "this xxx brand amp is power hungry" then they show a 4k or a 8k.
      Like it's no power hungry than any other 4 to 8k. "Power hungry " is a descriptor that should be reserved for terribly inefficient amps, like shitty AB's (like shitty AB's, not saying AB's are shitty, just the shitty ones) and class D amps that are only like 75% efficient at 4ohm..
      Those are power hungry, not an amp that's 92% at 4 ohm. That's like magical efficiency.
