I quit listening at the 1 hour point and just played her audio book. Way more informative than listening to Annie listen to Joe's dead horse talking points or him calling ukrainian attacks in Crimea terrorism. FML.🙄 He's become insufferable.
When Annie asked ,"Who is Alan Watts?" I was quite shocked, but also thrilled his name came up. More people need to hear his message, now more than ever.
Listening to alan watts led to psychedelic experiences changing to something completely different. Meaning I listened to him amd a few days later took some and experinced something completely different, I have never been able to go back to the old feeling. I had to stop taking them. I thought i was becoming 'enlightened' but i am now just another crazy dude honestly. Tread carefully with the whole spiritual thing, things arent as they seem, most people who get close to that light end up as the people talking to themself on the street. Alan Watts is a positive message, but the spiritual world is not all enlightenment and peace... I wish I never looked.

Is it me, or did Joe spend the majority of the interview talking about other subjects except what Annie was there to speak about. Annie kept trying to get back to the book and the subject and Joe consciously kept steering the conversation in another direction.

Part of what i like about this episode is that it's not always clear who is interviewing whom. The conversation has a nice back and forth flow to it, with so many topics.
I always think it’s so gross when people say “like in my book” or “if you read my book” more than a few times. I understand and appreciate the reason you’re there is to promote your book, but there’s a certain point when it just feels really tacky in my opinion…

I don't think that our attention span is decreasing. What we see is a lessening of our ability to endure boredom. When we have fun, or when we are interested in something, we can focus for hours and hours. When we are bored, we immediately look for something more stimulating.
This is actually the most positive spin I've saw someone make about attention span. I do agree that though boredom is becoming less easy to be in, that sometimes doing absolutely nothing is necessary for spiritual revitalization
Dude. When they start talking about the Catalyst that caused a person to change hit me. I started my health journey in May of this year. The thing that happened to me is I had an ego death that occurred one day in April. I just lost the image of my Self and realized "but I am still here". What eventually happened is in order to change I had to seperate the truth from the lies I told myself; the discipline from the lazy. And when i saw both sides of me, they absolutely hated one another, i.e. hated working 6-7 days a week, hating when i was being lazy at home, hating i would be angry for no reason, hated couldnt sleep, etc. But also, I love working and I love being lazy. I had to have both sides understand each was necessary, i was just using them in the wrong times. AND SO I manage everything by both communicating and having the lazy saying "yes you should workout now" and the disciplined saying "yes we do need to take a break" In May, i was 337-340lbs. And as of today I am 302-306lbs. I workout at random times but i am just figuring it out for now. The biggest change was intermittent fasting. I can still eat almost anything i want, i just choose the best times to do so and when to do a good fasting stretch. Nobody told me to do so, not one thing had really pushed me for it. It was really just feeling myself Love myself more that caused the change. Love every part of you and you can access things you never thought possible.

Part of what i like about this episode is that it's not always clear who is interviewing whom. The conversation has a nice back and forth flow to it, with so many topics.
I listened to the book and breezed through it, and i still want to purchase the physical copy and re-read it.
The first half was good. But Joe is the only person I’ve ever seen that could do a podcast solo and still talk over himself.
I always think it’s so gross when people say “like in my book” or “if you read my book” more than a few times. I understand and appreciate the reason you’re there is to promote your book, but there’s a certain point when it just feels really tacky in my opinion…

I don't think that our attention span is decreasing. What we see is a lessening of our ability to endure boredom.
When we have fun, or when we are interested in something, we can focus for hours and hours. When we are bored, we immediately look for something more stimulating.
Quantity means the quality is harder to find.
This is actually the most positive spin I've saw someone make about attention span. I do agree that though boredom is becoming less easy to be in, that sometimes doing absolutely nothing is necessary for spiritual revitalization
Dude. When they start talking about the Catalyst that caused a person to change hit me. I started my health journey in May of this year. The thing that happened to me is I had an ego death that occurred one day in April. I just lost the image of my Self and realized "but I am still here".
What eventually happened is in order to change I had to seperate the truth from the lies I told myself; the discipline from the lazy. And when i saw both sides of me, they absolutely hated one another, i.e. hated working 6-7 days a week, hating when i was being lazy at home, hating i would be angry for no reason, hated couldnt sleep, etc.
But also, I love working and I love being lazy. I had to have both sides understand each was necessary, i was just using them in the wrong times. AND SO I manage everything by both communicating and having the lazy saying "yes you should workout now" and the disciplined saying "yes we do need to take a break"
In May, i was 337-340lbs. And as of today I am 302-306lbs. I workout at random times but i am just figuring it out for now. The biggest change was intermittent fasting. I can still eat almost anything i want, i just choose the best times to do so and when to do a good fasting stretch.
Nobody told me to do so, not one thing had really pushed me for it. It was really just feeling myself Love myself more that caused the change. Love every part of you and you can access things you never thought possible.
