I envy the youngsters. We were deluded by the aim of increased realism by digital synths. We were amazed as pianos and other sounds were getting more like "the real thing" yet somehow the closer they got, the less inspiring they became and the more dissatisfied we became because the real thing has remained better than the synthetic. Youngsters have never suffered from that delusion and they take these old-fashioned instruments to places that we ignored in our pointless quest.
@Dave Hanson Indeed. All it needs is someone to come along who takes the guitar somewhere new and exciting. There's been the occasional guitar-based hit but no sign of a new guitar-based musical movement since grunge. It's not lack of talent - there's a bunch of talented youngsters all over UA-cam but unfortunately they're mostly playing their parents' and grandparents' music which is definitely _not_ what my generation was doing in 1978!
This dude is cool, and so is this video you guys are killing it, love it . My dream synth from you would be a Behringer super analog poly, multiple osc and filter flavors , multi timbral, cross mod and ringmod, something feature rich and on par with VA synths capabilities. But dont get me wrong i love all these mono synths too, im going to get this one. Wonder if you guys are going to do an odyssey in this format ? Happy New Year !!!
Ahhhh refreshing to see a company like Behringer making a new generation of synthesisers and not completely excluding a host of people with the price range.
I’d love to see you guys make a semi modular wavetable synth! With a mini SD card slot to load new tables. Or a two oscillator semi modular one that’s sampler/granular the other wavetable :D
That would be amazing!!!!!!! That’s what I want, sure analog is great, but the textures from something with wavetables and granular would be just what I want!!!
Maybe a proper DX7 clone (not like the crippled Korg volca), with onboard effects, perhaps in a DeepMind style package??? Or DX11, or SY77. I guess I could get a MODX, but I hate the user interface. Sounds great, but every time I’m in front of one, the panel is overwhelming.
Roboprogs I agree, the MODX is powerful, but it comes in the form factor of a performance/workstation which I’d like for touring, but not for sound designing. So you’re spot on, blending many under-appreciated types of synthesis together in one knobby interface would just be what I’d want honestly!
Noir Et Blanc Vie I guess the irony for me is that I program computers for a living, and only do music as a hobby - local open mic sort of thing. I don’t want recreational gear that looks like a programming puzzle, lol. Yamaha makes great sounding stuff, but the panels are always undifferentiated masses of chicklet buttons. In contrast, my Roland Juno DS, while not quite as nice sounding as say an MX61, has a panel that makes sense without memorizing a manual: performance knobs and sliders grouped on the left, patch / category selection and set editing menu in the center, rhythm/pattern/backing track control on the right. Each controls group has distinctive, well labeled, appropriate, controls. Hoping to find a nice entry/mid level FM synth some time, but Yamaha’s latest doesn’t look fun to work with, as well as the extra PCM features adding to the cost.
Got one today. Have had the Crave, Neutron and Model D. As far as i went with B synths, the D was most unique. In the end i have non... because it was easy to reproduce similar effect on my good, old Modal Craft 2.0. This CAT realy like to walk in its own ways... i do hope so. Cant wait more😉
The question is are they different enough from eachother , there is getting much overlap, its mainly just the filter , overal i think neutron has the balance between options and the poly d sounds great , the rest of the monos i would pass
I've given up on trying to stop myself from buying more monosynths. I'll just layer them all together to make a bastardized poly sound. The Cat sounds so awesome, it's an obvious must-have for me. Can you guys make Moog Minitaur? I think it's a real stand-out.
It's way too small to play anything serious on it, the Waldorf KB37 would be a better option. Or even better if they released them in the same format as the Poly D.
I just purchased the Behringer CAT and the Pro 1. I’m excited to create music with these beautiful machines as well I own the Behringer Wasp and Neutron. Thank you Behringer for such an amazing experience in creating music. 🦇🦇🦇

you guys are killing it, love it .
Sounds just amazing!
I’ve wanted one of these since I seen The Chemical Brothers rock one at Red Rocks
Ahhhh refreshing to see a company like Behringer making a new generation of synthesisers and not completely excluding a host of people with the price range.
love get my paws on that
Beat me to that one by a whisker lol
It sounds like a purrfect addition to my collection
Thanks Behringer! for making amazing products!
This is one I've been hoping for! Looks and sounds perfect
You hear us? Then please let Behringer Music Easel be a thing!!
Oh god yes
I'd love to catch Behringer's MEasels...
...
...Wow that was bad. I'll just go now...
@@jackpijjin4088 lmfao
I would buy that in a heartbeat
Holy...
Got one today. Have had the Crave, Neutron and Model D. As far as i went with B synths, the D was most unique. In the end i have non... because it was easy to reproduce similar effect on my good, old Modal Craft 2.0. This CAT realy like to walk in its own ways... i do hope so. Cant wait more😉
Problem used to be “can I afford to get one”
Now its “which one should I get” - good times for synth players or even just guitar players like me..
The question is are they different enough from eachother , there is getting much overlap, its mainly just the filter , overal i think neutron has the balance between options and the poly d sounds great , the rest of the monos i would pass
The first sound and I'm already in love.
It has an amazing cat off filter!
I've given up on trying to stop myself from buying more monosynths. I'll just layer them all together to make a bastardized poly sound. The Cat sounds so awesome, it's an obvious must-have for me.
Can you guys make Moog Minitaur? I think it's a real stand-out.
Sounds nice and gritty. I like it.
I'm holding out for the EMS synth AKS clone....
Wow, this synth has something special. It sounds amazing
Cool! A keyboard to interface with these cloned synth modules would be great. Something like Roland's K-25m for their boutique modules.
I thought that too, or just make keyboard versions of all their rackmount clones.
Troy Polaris I agree! But better than theirs of course :)
I've said the same, criminal that they haven't done the Wasp with keys...
Or a behringer keystep. Would be sick
You had me at cat :D
Love THIS.. it looks like the "Octave Cat". I got the "BEHRINGER Crave" for Christmas. I may have to pick this one up for my birthday in 2020 ! Happy New Year BEHRINGER ! Thank You for setting the pace and blazing the trail for 2020! - "So says MrTom, and so it was written..."
lol your new present is still warm out of the box and you're already lingering for a new toy.
@@padmad3k63 LOL, when you are as vernerble as I am... you keep going forward with new gear. A lot of people don't know me, but I'm actually a first gen' synth player. I actually co-written music with some of the "original creators" of New Wave, Ambient and Alternative/Industrial genres. I record mainly commercially licensed music as a composer under professional rights organization BMI, Inc. And some for retail sale. And oh.. The Crave is not warm, it HOT synth. Here you go:

@@MrTom-Songwriter-Composer Nice track reminds me of an AMIGA, gave you a thumbs up. I love 80s music however in Europe Synthwave isn't that popular, I'm not a big fan of Synthwave it's rare to find great Synthwave songs. I like Euro Disco and Space way more. Songs like these:

You know what Behringer should do? They should release a keyboard version of all their modules, Poly Crave, Poly One, Poly Neutron, Poly K2. Poly WASP, Poly Cat kinda like what they did with the Poly D.
@@padmad3k63 Thanks, with the square wave on the Crave, to me it can sound like the good old Commodore 64 SID chip. I totally agree with you that making a poly version of all the monophonic versions / modules with a full size keyboard. Have a great upcoming weekend.
This should sound good with a Proco RAT !
That plug arp in the end was pure gold. Man, now I need this too :(
i love how the dust brothers/ chemical brothers confusion still exists in 2019. i wonder if they realised the photo was the same people with a haircut... the DEVO mispronunciation is unforgivable. luckily the synth can speak for itself :D
Was thinking the same, it would be nice to know if the American 'Dust Brothers' used one.
Dear Uli & the whole Behringer team, have a blessed 2020. Much love from Amsterdam. If you are ever doing an accurate LinnDrum and an LM-1 version (or a unit combining both or at least combining features of both) and have Roger Linn involved, that would be another priceless moment in drum machine history
We get it: you are the masters of cloning synths but we need moar polys! 6, 8, 12 voices
16 too!
A Jupiter or Prophet would be sickkkk
Sequential Prophet Rev2 16 voice?
@@tommisaarinen2394 Behringer knows they need to release a Jupiter iteration, I'm pretty sure of that. :D
Are you already sick of your Deepmind? They released a phenomenal original poly followed by a wave of monos. We should all be grateful.
Calling it now that 2020 will be the year of behringer polysynths, they've fucking smashed it this year
DAMMIT BEHRINGER STOP FARTING AROUND AND GIVE US OUR FREAKING EMS SYNTHI CLONE
This is getting absurd, but I tip my hat to you all. I'm so hoping the Oscar is in the works.
6:44 Ayreon's "Castle Hall" detected.
Oh yeah. :) \m/
NoAiceeee:) will buy!
Dream of a DX7
with stereo 12bitDAC in THIS FORMAT and more control plus analog filters from the OBX,ARP and Pro 1 hehehe or 2 of them.
with an illuminated logo (BX7) and the sliders of the odessey with green lighting. Weirs that can be controlled via midi are also nice. And of course more waveforms than the original.
Thx that you are there❤️
where the cat is the 909 clone?
Any one else in debt because of this company!!! HAHAHA...Love it. You guys continue to blow my flippin' sizzlin' synth mind! Now we just need a Behringer Model P6 (I think everyone in this thread get's the reference) and my synthwave dream list is complete...well probably not. I never thought i'd live in a world where I get to be a part of such wonderful and inclusive wave of synths that so many of us have dreamed of and can actually afford!!! Currently own the Deepmind, Odessey, Model D, MS-1, Rd-8 and have the Poly-D and TD-3 on pre-order. Now I need this ...AHHHH!!!
i'll wait for the Poly Cat
Lemón deRangello I see what you did there.....
There's a Voyetra 8 analog polyphonic synthesizer by Octave Plateau-Electronics on Reverb.com right now for a mere $12,000 if you can't wait for the Behringer.
Sounds a lot like the Roland SH 1000 I used to have in the early 80s, got it for 50 bucks at a used music place called starving musician and I played with that for two straight summers recording plenty of stuff on my real to reel, fond memories indeed!
a Roland SH-1000 selling for 50 bucks... now there's something that will never happen again!
Pleeeease do an sp1200 drum clone plzzzzzzzzzzz Behringer
beautiful sound!
It's cool you're making new mono synths all the time but can you finish/give a release date for the 909 clone? It's the only product of yours I actually want, because I don't need a 3rd mono synth.
Behringer had me checking youtube every hour since I woke up this morning.
BIG PASTA you need to get out more
Alex Rafter ... uh you know you can check UA-cam on your phone right? 🤦🏻♂️
Me: Thank God Behringer doesn't have any more synt.....
Behringer: Mwahahahahahaha $$$$$$$$$$$$
I sat in that room with Mix Master Morris. The man is a total mentalist. And an absolute legend.
It's pronounced "Devo", not "Devo".
you mean deevo not dev-o
We are Deevo!
Bel Biv Devo
No. It's Dev-oh, not Dev-oh!!!
God.
We are not man. No, men.
It's amazing, behrigner went from 0 to 16+ production Synths, in like, 4 years.
Wow your killing it🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥
These synths make me want to start using hardware. Awesome.
I've always been a user of a DAW and VSTs but bought some hardware and love it! Jamming with just a drum machine a few mono synths and a beatstep controller has changed the way I make music..
