These are the types of review videos that we need!! Real and honest experience! No shaky camera work, poor audio, paper spitting specs, crazy/unneccassry transitions, as well hiding promotions in the video. I appreciate how genunie and detailed you were. This definately adds some perspective!
Thank you bro I appreciate that!
I like that you say this is a good review because of the lack of production quality basically. Also “hiding promotions” isn’t a thing that happens. People are on here to do a job and have ads they have to read so they can continue to do this as a job.
I'm choosing between a 23 and 24 trd pro what are your thoughts? Nice video by the way
A Tacoma is and has been my dream car/truck for life. I find them to look very reliable and comfortable for being a truck. I am trying my hardest to afford it and thankfully God is on my side and I will do everything in my power for the ability to have this truck. Thank you for the review, I get even more motivation to get this truck
I hope you get one! I am looking into a 23 or 24 Tacoma God willing I can afford one lol
Bro they are so high..
but they hold their value pretty well
Love my 2021 Taco. Just needed a reliable well-made truck. Went with longer bed because I actually use it as a truck and it's nice to have the extra space back there. I didn't buy it for low gas mileage, we know with a truck it's not a gas sipper or a stop light champ. It rides good, handles well and easy to park for a truck.
Exactly why I just bought mine. Long bed TRD Off-road. Work/play/reliability…
It also handles wayy better than the Jeep Wrangler/ Gladiator
I bought my 2022 Tacoma extended cab this past May.
I understand your love for your truck, because I absolutely love mine. I’ve added some round step bars, and have other accessories ideas coming soon. Apple CarPlay feature is great, I wish that was on my wife’s ‘12 Highlander. Also thanks for explaining the ECT button, had not read up on it yet. Your Tacoma looks awesome 👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼
I love how you edited plenty of beautiful shoots of the car's parts while talking about them, most of the other car channels keep showing boring shoots of them talking or trying to be funny.
nice job keep it going
My Honda 2008 hybrid broke down and I rented Tacoma without knowing what this truck about I’m not really knowledgeable about cars too and as soon as I started driving Tacoma I fell in love with that truck. So much comfort for casual drivers like me I would recommend this truck
Nice review. Thanks.
Great content. I just bought a 2023 TRD offroad at auction. I love it.
Love the video man. Congrats on the dream truck. Thinking about building out a trail edition myself.
I've had my 2020 SR5 4x4 since July 2020. I really love it. The Tacoma is what you want yours to be that's very true.
Mine is not really modified much. I put 265/75R16 all trerian tires on, a tonneau cover, some seat covers and some stereo upgrades. I daily drive mine too. I use it to tow a pop up camper and carry bikes and camping gear. Coming from a Liberty CRD it's a little bit longer, longer hood but always a good size to park.
Fuel economy is just ok. Not really worse than what I had before.
Since I got a 2020 I got the safety sense stuff, Android auto and apple car play. Also it came with the power seat and power rear window, all the 2020 SR5 and up with a V6 engine get the power seat and window. Technology is more than enough for me.
As far as passengers I used to have to take my mom and sister to the grocery store with me every week and it was ok for them in the double cab but it's a little tight maybe for a longer trip. I wouldn't suggest the access cab unless you never carry passengers.
Mine has been extremely dependable. I really totally fell in love with the truck last summer when I took it on a week long camping trip to Ohiopyle.
For what it's worth, I drove my dad's Tacoma from cocoa beach to Chicago. 3 people and a dog, pulling a trailer. I had no real complaints about the trip at all. It pulled the trailer great, and it was very comfortable. The only thing I found annoying was trying to run cruise control pulling the trailer. It would shift gears more often than I thought was necessary. Otherwise a great smooth trip
Thanks so much for this video. It was most helpful. :D
i have a 2021 limited edition in army green. I love it for sure and get compliments all the time. Just invested in a hard bed cover as well.
Thank you for mentioning the Technology and Seat updates for 2020 and up. Was good to know.
The seat Jackers really make the seats more comfortable & I have a per drivers seat
Dope video !
I just bought a 2023 tacoma trd sport 4dr 6cyl. I had a 2020 extra cab 2.7 4cyl. Incredible tough truck. Unstoppable little tank. You think the 3.5 is doggie lmao. Try the 2.7 on the highway. It's like you threw a anchored out & dragging it. I've got 84 miles on the 2023 & it is incredible on hills compare to the might 2.7. both are outstanding. Paid 27,000 in 2020. 2023 now they gave me 20,000.00 toward my 2023 trd sport. Pays to keep it clean & scratch free... Enjoy your taco's everyone
Congratulations on your truck! Probably one of the best colors for a taco! Badass, keep up the good content.
Thanks bro! I appreciate it!
Great review man! I'm a moto-vlogger, and considering getting a TACO. Great video man, keep it up!
That's exactly how I feel with my 21' Tacoma TRD PRO! Enjoy your Taco!
🔥🔥🔥 Upgrades 💪🏾
dope video, i am looking to purchase one so this helped a lot! id love a detailed review of your modifications thus far
Thanks man! I’ll be sure to make some more videos on the mods for sure. Getting a few more done next month and then I’ll shoot that video.
Beautiful modifications so tasteful.
I got 4.88 gears on my 2021 TRD OR. Cost me an arm and a leg but made it much easier to push my 285s and the added torque when wheeling is god sent. Now I can easily slap on some 34s and she still wont be sluggish :)
Taco is my dream truck Ive never owned a truck but can’t wait for the gen 4
On my 18 I added the sprint booster makes a huge difference the way the truck performs. Definitely worth the money
Right on. I’ll have to take a look at that.
I love the front bumper
It is my dream truck as well always look back as I'm going into store
Hey I really appreciate your review. I actually prefer the basic tech in older vehicles. More and more tech means more complexity and distraction. When I get in my wife's new Highlander I feel like I'm in the cockpit of some spaceship! She barely uses the backup camera and parking sensors 😁 I love my 2010 Rav V6. I did put an aftermarket radio to get Bluetooth, but aside from heated mirrors that's all I care about. I understand alot of the modern tech is safety related though and I appreciate auto-dimming headlights and adaptive cruise control. I plan on getting that generation Taco as my weekender toy.
Correct. The infotainment system in my Silverado looks pedestrian but it works great and doesn’t distract. The infotainment screen on the new Tundra is ridiculous. Too large and hard to use according to new owners.
Love my "21 Trail Edition 🌮 in Cement Gray.
Yep. You hit most of the negatives. Slow as hell (pedal commander did help a lot but low end torque sucks). Back seat is small even for my kids. I would add a couple. 1) Rough suspension (even for a truck) when on road driving. 2) Odd seating position. Half sitting half laying. No vehicle is perfect but just some things to think about before dropping the $
I special ordered my 21 Sport Access Cab in Army Green and received it in January.
The only issue I've had is the wiper blades themselves suck. Besides that great truck.
Great video, TRD Sport is the best trim imo. Also, what bumper is that?
That truck is GORGEOUS!!!!!!!
I feel you bro
I love taco truck too
I tuned my truck onto OVTUNE orange virus and if you think you loved the truck right now. You'll love it even more after the tune 1000 percent. Way better response, better mpg. Totally recommend it. First mod you should do in my opinion. Dope taco!
How does one do this?
You’ll love that voided warranty too when they see the previous rpm ranges and I injector pulse widths when you start to have some ticking going on. And then you’ll bitch at the company that sold you the tune when they said it was untraceable just tune it back to stock when you bring it in lol.
@@zues2013 ticking? What ticking?
I did just buy a 23 tacoma. Still getitng use to it, but so far im loving it
Get a tune, I just bought a 2022 Tacoma trd off road. I got OTT. My truck is wonderful now.
@@tv450578415 what is OTT?
Ooohhhhh...a light bar in the hood scoop... I never thought of that... definitely my next move, thank you.
After having the Overland Torque Tune installed on my 23 TRD Off Road, double cab, 6’ bed with the Premium and Technology pkgs installed, the automatic transmission Stopped “hunting” for gears, the torque kicks in at 2K RPMs and the horsepower has increased from 278 to 302 and I’m getting 1-2mpg Better fuel efficiency.
Good to know. I’ll definitely need to look into doing that.
@@JordanMcKeithan It’s worth Every Penny.
Since I’ve had my Taco done, a friend of mine who has a 23 had his done and another friend is going to get his 19 done.
I really recommend the OTT.
I’ve got a ‘16 TRD and the infotainment was wonky for a while for me. Newest updates helped but if you need to you don’t have to restart the truck. Just restart the audio system by holding the volume and tune buttons in at the same time. It restarts the media system. Nice truck tho and honest review. I agree with everything and couldn’t have said it better
Ohhhh that’s good to know about the restart bro, thank you!!! I’ll definitely try that next time for sure!
You can also get a 35 gallon fuel tank if you ever need to replace the stock one, it expensive $2500 but it's made from heavy steel and a rock wont puncture it.
Nice truck bro…love Tacos!
Gotta regear it! I did 529 at the same time of my lift. 33 “ tires on 3 inch lift. Brought back power to stick imo
Dumb question, but I don't really know about this. I have a three in life and 33's also. How does regearing work and who would do it, any shop or is it a specialty? Thanks.
good stuff. thanks. new sub
Thanks man!
Nice review, just bought a silver TRD sport myself! Was wondering is your truck lifted in this video or is that the stock height? It looks good!
Thanks man! It is lifted 2 inches in this video. But now it’s lifted 3.5 inches.
Before I had the 2018 Tacoma 4x4 off road. Now I have a 2022 Tacoma sport. I recommend knowing what trim you want because one is better for off roading and the other is great for the city and everyday driving. Know the Steering wheel changes from off road and sport. TRD Off road tends to be more stiff when turning and TRD Sport is more smooth and comfortable when turning. Be sure to do your own research and just so you know you can’t go wrong with the Tacoma SR5. Toyota Tacoma are the best and fun truck.
What percentage are your front and rear windows tinted? Ps- love the truck. Should have mine in a couple weeks!
I have a 2016 130k miles never a problem always had it serviced at 5k , your comment on the blue tooth never had a issue with it either using a iPhone , so now im buying a 2023 SR5 2 wheel drive the last of the 3.5 V6s. the 2024s forward will be 4 cylinders.
Awesome video brother
New subscriber
Thank you bro
Your Taco looks dope. I recently picked up a 2020 and love it. Only complaint I have with mine is it sounds like a diesel at idol which i’ve been told is normal (atkinson cycle)??
100% agree
Jordan, let's do a 5 year review. I'm at 8 with my '15 and I can give you plenty of experience that may or may not match up with you. I'm in Toledo, OH.
love my 2019 TACO!!!
That bumper is sick.
He’s right!
I disagree about the performance. My stock 2022 does 0-60 in 6.5 seconds and has a TON of power on the highway. You can see the 0-60 video on my channel for proof. It has no issue getting to it's 113mph top speed governor.
The 16,17 and some of the 18s were kinda doggish. The 16s had a LOT of problems.
I’m glad that I waited until 23 to buy mine
Good looking truck bro! Nice modifications I like the headlights they look really good, I'm not in a hurry to change mine but 👍👍! I have the Blue crush metallic Tacoma 6-speed manual transmission I did a tonneau cover & extra "TRD off-road" badge on the side for 5 horsepower. It's got the predator step bars & the mud flaps makes it look pretty clean on the outside. Similar 2 yours! I hate the ⛽ mileage tho🤷 & my shit is stock
I agree with you, I'm loving the 🚛💨, my buddy bought one back in the day around the year 2000 it was a TRD 4x4 5spd with a locking rear diff & here I am about 20 years later & finally got a Tacoma! Damn it's an expensive 🚛💨 40K+ for a Tacoma! 🤦... the other day I was like I need to know how fast my truck can go in each ⚙️ so if I have to pass or accelerate I kno what gear to put it in. I shit you not 3rd ⚙️ hit 96 mph & did not even hit the rev limiter yet, if I'm going 80mph or above use 4th ⚙️ but if I'm going 75 mph down the highway (10mph above most freeway limit) I have to put the truck in 3rd ⚙️ that's just crazy! 👍💯👍
Awesome truck 😎
Thanks man!
What an amazing vehicle
Can you add a link to the front bumper? It looks like a perfect fit for the Tacoma. A review would be nice as well. But the bumper looks sweet.
The “ECT” button is like a tow/haul! 6:35
Dude I’m so jealous lol. I’ve looked at so many videos. And I thought I was going to be able to buy one. And no got to the dealership. And needed a co-signer. And bam no truck for me.
What kind of front bumper guard is that!?!?!? Super slick lookin
You have a list where you got the after market parts?
I bought a new ‘14 double cab pre-runner with the 2.7L 4 cyl with 4 speed transmission. Only have 60k miles and I love the truck. Gets great fuel mileage and is super useful/comfortable. Where people go wrong is adding 4wd and a v6. Defeats the purpose of this truck imo. You should just buy a full-size v8 instead of a higher end tacoma
Prerunner 🤢
Not getting 4wd defeats the purpose of having testicles
Said no one ever.
volume is really low on this video but great video
I like how these look with Tacoma on the front not the 2022 with the Toyota symbol
Regear the axles to lower gears an the truck will feel it has alot more power an bottom end torque
While in Utah earlier this year, I had a 2020 Tacoma SR5 rental. Drove it 1100 miles over 3 days while I was there so I feel like I can give a solid review.
Pros: There’s so much great stuff to say about this truck, personally I like it much better than the Colorado. Handles easily, smooth and quiet ride, easy controls, great stereo, adaptive cruise control worked great, plenty of power for a regular daily driver. Driving around Salt Lake City I averaged 18.1 mpg and on highways when I drove down to Arches, I averaged 23.9 mpg. Didn’t get to tow or go off-road since it was a rental so I can’t speak on that stuff. Plenty of cup holders and storage too. Easy to drive, easy to park, and easy to use. Not much more I can ask for.
Cons: The Apple car play was very finicky and would seemingly only work half the time. The other times it was just regular Bluetooth connection which worked flawlessly. Perhaps it was just user error as it was my first time trying to use it, but we both had issues. I thought it was extremely uncomfortable as the driver, but my wife thought it was very comfortable as the passenger. The fabric on the seats felt cheap and there was minimal cushion. The lane departure assistance system was horrible and I had to turn it off within the first hour of driving.
Overall, I would definitely recommend this truck to anyone looking for a mid size pickup. Just make sure you buy a seat cushion afterwards 😂
Make sure to update your infotainment software. It glitches out sometimes when using, which becomes annoying to use at times.
That lane departure issue is exactly why I feel most of the time that less is more.
The only gripe I have is theyre not built well and made in me x. The 4runner is built very well and made in Japan and comparing them, the build quality difference is obvious in many ways, like fit and finish, engine (4runner has 4.0 V6), though not as quick as a basic taco v6 crew cab 4x4.
Never understand getting 4wd in south. 1500 extra lbs. and serious drop in mpg. I have had 2wheel locking rear ford and now lsd rear 2 wheel tundra. Never , ever got stuck and i lease 2 farms for hunting. 16 mpg with 395 hp tundra city driving 40 psi in tires. 2 wd. Baffled GRIZ
Can you please make a Video that elaborates the upgrades.
Already done! Check the channel!
LOVE THAT BUMPER! WHO MAKES THAT BAD BOY?
Thanks brotha! Body Armor 4x4 Hiline Series front bumper.
May God bless me with tacoma this year.. 🙏🏾
I love my 2021 tacomaaaaaaaaa
The manual transmission is fun to drive in the Toyota Tacoma.
I am 6'4" and I figured out how to sleep in the back seat. Not as good as sleeping in the truck bed or in a van.
Too me, any tech is awesome, I switching from a 2008 Mazda 3, and who bought it cheaper tf out, bout the base model with crank windows, and manual locks, so anything is an upgrade
Hi, can you recommend a page for accessories por the Tacoma.
What light bar is that in the hood scoop? Link possibly?
If I buy one I’m going to live in it. Lol I’m just itching to get out!
Literally looks exactly as my 2016. Nice. Link the headlights…
I got them on www.tacomabeast.com. They’re the AlphaRex Lux LED head lights .
Sweet
I have a 2019 6 cylinder SR5 4X2. My complaints are 1. Every time you hit a bump you need to get a front end alignment or you will be buying new $200 + tires. Best solution? I got the lifetime alignments from Firestone for $200. 2.Crappy gas mileage. I only get 14 mpg in City and 17 to 19 on hwy. But with NO ETHANOL GAS I get 18 City 22 hwy. 3. SLOW as crap.
Did you lift it or is that the stock TRD height also what size tires is it on
Strong car.
Does the VAS Window Deflector help reduce the popular "Toyota Wind Noise"?
It helps a little but not much lol. I’d say like 20% noise reduction
Rotational weight will rob you of HP/TQ much more than static weight. I wonder how the truck would feel with stock tires on it.
Brother, your truck is beautiful. One day I’ll get out of my Elantra and into a taco. 🌮🌮🌮🌮
Thank you!
The manual transmission Tacomas are a bit quicker to accelerate because they have 4.30 rear ends rather than the 3.91 in the automatic.
@John Doe yea man I couldn't imagine buying an auto tacoma, its one of the last trucks that still offers one.
@John Doe they do make a 4 cylinder manual but it's even more gutless then the v6 and only 3-4 mpg better
Once you said pound Chihuahua I was sold. Getting my 22 TRD offroad in a few days and cant wait!
Lol he’s my #1 passenger
I want that Taco Fuel sticker
There’s som similar ones for sale on Etsy. My wife just made this one for me lol
Get a pedal commander. I enjoy my Taco much better now (2023 TRD Off Road). Like many said you buy new Tacoma if you want a brand new old truck. Life is good with Tacoma.
How did you get the TRD Pro Toyota logo on the grille ? Or does it come with some versions of the TRD sport ?
It’s aftermarket. You can either buy an oem one like mine or buy a replica one but they’re virtually identical.
Hey. What kind of cover you got in the box
I have a 23 off-road it has plenty of power and that’s coming from a Chevy V8 so I don’t really understand all the comments about the power
Please get a tune, OTT is great. My truck is quick and fast with a lot of power.
So what about the 2016 model are they good or bad
Why the blacked out taillights? They are very hard to see in low visibility conditions.
I love my Tacoma.
Yes, the transmission sucks. But it's honestly it's not slow. It's not fast, but not slow.
I've owned a Ford Taurus, Dodge Intrepid, Dodge Neon, Mercury Sable, GMC Sonoma, Nissan Versa, Ford Explorer, 3 Corollas, and a Toyota Camry. Only the Camry was SLIGHTLY quicker than my 2023 Tacoma Off Road.
Yall, add an exhaust, an intake and a tune and shell be a perfectly serviceable truck.
