It may not be clear in the video. I mix with a limiter on and I am suggesting you should at least check your mix with limiting to get and idea of the sound post mastering. In the black and white section where I say "never mix into a limiter" I am being sarcastic. It's supposed to make fun of common internet myth. Sorry if it wasn't clear. ✌️
This is what i needed! I always think my track sounds flat and as i get stuck trying to fix it i end up not finishing it so I barely get to the mastering stage. Gonna trust the project now and master them, thanks 👊🏼
Hey man, I love your videos, tips and more. Great stuff. I'd like to see more videos from you about leveling volumes, I've applied your tips but sometimes when I use reference tracks I can get the right loudness when I master my tracks. Thanks for reading. Cheers :)
Mixing into a Limiter & Producing with a Limiter is actually a better approach then the standard headroom approach! Having the Kick being the Loudest sound in the Mix & everything else wont past louder then the Kick so you can easily reference & get to hear what your final result will sound ...
Hey Dilby, speaking of Maschine and its great sample library - how do you manage the samples? Are you using the Maschine vst with the drag and drop function? Curiouse to hear🙂thanks for sharing the tips!
No vst. Not even installed. I've owned Maschine for about 10 years but I never liked the software so I copied the sounds to the folder on my hard drive where I keep my samples and removed everything else
Obviously you don''t. But the point is that the elements you put into the track effect the end result. So using good samples to write a track aids the mixdown and I tried to advise on some good options that I have tried and tested for anyone who is not sure where to start. I've already had a few people write me on IG that they bought that pack and are stoked with it. I'm not associated with Sample Market and don't care if you buy it or not, I'm just trying to help.
Yes, I always mix with a limiter. What I am suggesting is that you add limiting until you reach a loudness of -9LUFS to get a rough idea of how your track is going to sound when it's mastered.

@@dilbydj is there a way to find the samples online without buying the drum machine?
Genial informacion Dilby!! Te hago una pregunta con que vst creaste el bassline? me podrias decir las configuraciones? muchas gracias y buena semana!
Why do we need the East End Dubs hits package to complete our mixdown?

@@dilbydj Thank you, I see why it's helpful now. I did buy the pack but I haven't looked at it yet. Thanks for the recommendations.
Thanks Dilby. I was confused by tip 5, so, Don't have a limiter in the master channel, or do? I use your tip with the -6kick first off.

@@dilbydj thanks that's what I thought, when you cut to b&w you say don't use one, perhaps meaning that's the internet's myth. Thanks for confirming D
@@dj_Davepz exactly. But looks like I should have been more clear, haha shit 😂
@@dilbydj much respect, keep doing what you do 🙏🎶
