Dude, I've been watching your videos a lot lately and I gotta say your commentary during the games is super informative and oftentimes hilarious. #1 MTG content creator right now for me. Love the decks and love watching you play them. YOU'RE COOL!
Those of us who have been on the cgb journey for many years have learned a lot from his insightful play-by-play commentary. Even the salty outbursts are informative. My magic playing on paper and arena has improved dramatically. Thanks, cgb!
Man, just this weekend I went to my parents place and they wanted me to bring home some old books that I had left there (some were mine, some my brother's, and some were collective property of us all), and among them was the complete trilogy of the Hitchikers Guide to the Galaxy, all 5 of them. Great, great books, I got to read them again, as well
Again!! Ok, CGB. I had mentioned this before and I guess, I should mention it again. Somehow integrate the Halo Forager into this this deck's starting roster. I did and my version of this deck template is always, always fruitful in making its combos trigger. (well, that is when I ain't getting land screwed) What I learned from the deck you featured on this video is that there's an unavoidable but small window of opportunity your opponents will have that is always present when you are playing this deck against Control decks and Mono-black decks. It's their win now or get thrashed royally moment against your deck's ability to execute its insurmountable combos. If they catered for that window of opportunity properly; you will be stopped before you can end the deed. With the Halo Forager wandering around your deck"s roster they have to fend off your ability to repeat any of the combos they already halted and there's no fool me twice saying during game time in MTG. At least test three Halo Foragers in your deck. I trade out a land and a certain 7-cost creature and... well this final trade would be yours to decide if you decide to test my observation results.
Great content CGB, I was wondering if you think with temporary lockdown being a great card in the meta rn, if this is the window for a Zur, Eternal Schemer control deck to see more action? Between lockdown and campaign even some bindings and virtue, seems like it could be fun at least.
I have been working on my own version of this deck since February. I think it works better as a OTK combo deck with bringer of the last gift. This is great though.
Hi CGB I got a spell suggestion for your blue white control. Try "change the equation" this counter spell is really useful for the current fast and furious red and green meta decks. I hope you will check it out 😇 Anyway.. fun and informative video as always 👌🏻
Yeah, that last match showcased exactly why Jace is supposed to be in the deck, not to mention the first game where he stole an enemy Jace in order to do it, too. He's making the same mistake I was making by getting too afraid of being ran over by aggro and overcompensating by trying to force in a boardwipe. Removing the deck's primary win condition to make space for it is even worse.
@@kunimitsune177 Its a conditional sweeper that has been and remains totally unplayable in standard. It does nothing for this deck at all. That card will legit do nothing without multiple cards in the graveyard.
Money. If that's not an option then your best bet is to play draft to build up your collection, or events to get gold. Both require you to wager your gold, but if you're halfway decent then you'll end up with more value than you put in.
The Dirk Gently books are better than the H2G2 series - and the two TV adaptations of them are pretty good too (although not faithful to the books) - so you should read those if you haven't. Also Terry Pratchett's Discworld series, obv.
ive tried playing this deck in rakdos with cruelclaw as a backup, cruelclaws kinda mid bc he never hits the right thing but he at least theoretically gives a way for you to cast ur big spells when a rest in piece enters the battlefield. could work with tweaking. if ur wondering how i do rakdos, 4x beseech the mirror that can find 2x reenact.
After seeing how you piloted this deck it makes sense that you are a product of the public school system of the US. Still love the content none-the-less, guess this is my version of "trash tv".

Great book recommendation
Love the outro and your love for Hitchhiker's - one of the best books/series ever. Totally relate; the opening couple of chapters are so funny.
It's been ages since I read it, but it's sitting right there on the shelf

Day 1 of asking for Covert Go Mustache
This a daily comment streak I can get behind
He could rock it for sure
Day 1 of backing this
He could pull off the cop stache with his cop glasses.
Learning (or re-learning) about the roller derby coach aspect makes a potential mustache quite apropos.
22:00 And here you see a CGB with regrets.
That was a funny series of misplays in a row.
Haha! Yes! I don't know how people get mad at misplays, it's great watching

Really good talk about the deck how it can win the mid range but is not good against the really aggro ones, every deck has its flaws
You must make your selections for what you want to lose to.
not every deck, hence a lot of bans
RIP skaab. You will be sorely missed

At 15:17, doesn't the creature have summoning sickness? How can CGB use the ability this turn? Is there a haste enabler?
the second ability doesn't ask you to engage the creature so it is not affected by summoning sickness
Oh I need better eyes. I thought it was a tap symbol, not a 2cmc. Thanks.
Harvester of Misery is getting a lot of love lately. One of my favorite cards against these small runt aggro decks.
It really does a ton of work against decks that rely on Cacophony Scamp and Heartfire Hero to win on turn 3.
@@chasm9557 Yeah for sure, dropping their power below zero results in those pesky dudes doing no damage 😈
I love Hitchhiker’s Guide to the Galaxy!
i feel like this guy is a legit real life planeswalker... he knows every decks mechanics lol madnesssssss
Breach the multiverse with at least 2 copies of jace mill is a wombo combo that seems to good for this deck to give up on to me.

Wrong Zur…
@@davidhower7095 fixed! Thanks!
I face a lot of aggro decks right now what do you suggest the best deck for me to build? I’m tired of losing on turn 3

Is that all you play is control decks?
yo this deck is so interesting. love this deck
Sonio level gameplay
I played against it today. Got the opponent down to 4 life before the deck went crazy.
No jace? Its the most powerful aspect of this deck...
exactly, and hes playing a terrible 4 mana sweeper instead that does literal nothing
@WitnessedOne
>Literal nothing
>Except the thing that I just said it does
You mean figuratively nothing. Ffs.

You have to be 13 steps ahead to beat a deck that have four copies of three steps ahead !
Can't go wrong with necromancy.
How do yall get so many wild cards to build all these decks tho 😭

what a dumb deck. You want to reanact instant speed , and beseech is a sorcery . Also rip is not standard legal
Almost lost to this deck with my discard deck. Pairing “Founding the third path” paired with “cache grab” is nasty!
Yarok was desecrated, he was not a desecrator 😠
Cgb plz would you teach me on how to be a better deck builder plz

What’s the point of running Go for the Throat when Fell is a thing? Can anyone explain that to me?
One is an instant, the other is fell.
Imagine fell said "destroy a creature BUT ONLY ON YOUR TURN". Such a massive downside.
Actually it's even worse than "only on your turn" because sometimes you need instant speed removal on your turn too 🤷🏻♂️
