- Video showcasing my elevator simulator built from scratch. Have questions or comments? Post them below! I'm all for helping the haunt community! This is by far my crowning achievement in my home haunt career, thanks for watching!
The detail is amazing on the interior, looks like something right out of an amusement park ride!
Absolutely one of the coolest props I've ever seen for a home haunt. Epic bro!
There are not enough words to say how fabulous this is....congrats on such a great build!!!!!!!! Best thing I've seen built from scratch, you are the master! Amazing
Thanks Laura! It was a challenge but a lot of fun to build.
So much credit for the opening audio clip made my day been awhile since I’ve heard that
I would have done 2 doors. Other than that FREAKING AMAZING!!!!!! It would be cool to try to put it on caster wheels and use it as a transition room. While it’s shaking move it behind the scenes to a new room a few feet away super cool way to get from point a to point b. You are a haunted house GENIUS!
Really cool. Wld love to see a diy on the faux painting for rust etc and how u made the doors with bifold
LOL that Down with the Sickness JAZZ music though! Anyways aside of that you did an amazing job building that Elevator simulator. I've seen many independent haunt attractions that actually build their own dark rides into their garages & I would love to be one of those people to built those! Haunted Houses are always my favorite thing about Halloween!
Since this is an industrial elevator, We ask that you use caution when riding.
You might find it interesting to know that this exact elevator shaft has been in place for almost a century discovered long before Kennywood was ever built.
Sealed shut for nearly 50 years. No one has actually gone down under the shaft.....
Very cool! Well done.
You said you could`not imagine building a haunt the size of ours, I cant imagine building the props that you build. How do you come up with your ideas? WOW !!!! This is most definitely a huge crowning achievement that you should be proud of
The detail of this elevator is amazing... Since the terror control board is no longer exist you could could accomplish this prop using Brookshire VSA, Ennntec usb to dmx, and a couple of DMX relay packs. The Brookshire VSA will also trigger your video and audio. There are even more support from HauntMonkey for input control and trigger from your cell phones.
I'm a little behind in my video watching the season. I Love your elevator!!! I bet that zombie clip is going to terrify people.
This is super cool. Can't wait to see the scare cam footage
Thanks man!
Freaking awesome prop without a doubt!!! Not to many haunters can built to this capacity. Your work and detail is brilliant. can not wait to see how everyone enjoys it, Halloween night. AMAZING!!!!!!
Thanks Tina!
Looks very cool. Wish we could have had some video w/ the sound effects to give the full experience!
Very nice build I hope to see more great work
I found you today... You got a new subscriber, from Portugal....
Absolutely incredible!!!
Well thought out prop, planned and executed perfectly!
so impressed!! it's amazing what we can do with just junk isn't it??
How does the terror tech board hook up to the airbags? Also once you hit the start button does the terror tech board control the whole ride so you just sit back and enjoy it? Can you use the airbags if your ride vehicle is on wheels? Last question, can the airbags inflate higher? (I'm building a ride myself and I'm new to the building area so I have lots of questions)
Pure genius 👏
This is such a cool prop and a great video! Thanks for sharing.
Thanks to this video we created an elevator in our escape room!
Only The part of the metal bar, we don’t onderstand that part..
We Made an elevator of 2.12x2.12meter.
Thanks a lot for this great video
Escaperoom Berkel that’s awesome!!! The sway bars were basically just a precaution in case the whole thing tried to twist for some reason. If yours work without it then that awesome! Would love to see it!
of course we'll do, it will take a few weeks more to finish. But we'll send you a video of it!
Looking to build somehting just like this. Can you post a link to the air components and how they all hook up? Or just take a longer shot still and maybe show arrows of air flow? In your still at 2:36 it looks like I"m seeing the inflation valves #1 & 2 from the left? Then the dump valve with a baffle as the #3 valve on the right? Also I"m assuming the #4 dump valve is on the other side.
I’m hoping to build one of these if not this year next year
Great job man!
I want to build one of these for my garage haunt on Halloween. I've never built anything pneumatic, so am not sure exactly what to buy and how to set it up. I have the TerrorBytes prop controller, but when I go on the AirSlamit site, I'm confused as to what to buy - I doubt I need a $2,500 "system", but need to figure out what I need in addition to my air compressor. Any advice is appreciated. Is there a tutorial about setting up a system like this somewhere?
“It’s pretty simple, really”
🤣🤣 wtfffff. Are you an engineer?? This looks awesome but sooooo intimidating.
Building similar - do you know how much of a gap is needed between the surrounding walls and the elevator itself? Was thinking a 4'' gap would be enough, but want to be safe... It's going on bags that max out at 8" of lift and the floor itself is currently planned for 54'' x 64''.
Fantastic work there Jason! All the effort you put into building your elevator really paid off, it looks incredible! When are you planning on setting up your haunt? Might do a road trip just to check it out.
Great job on the elevator. Where did you get the pneumatic controls?
I have the same question. I googled what he said “air slammer” and found it’s airslamit. Looks like all you need are solenoids and bags, so I’m trying to figure out exactly which. There’s another haunted elevator video and he uses these rectangular solenoid boxes but I’m even less sure where he got those.
This is by far the coolest prop did u do a complete build video on this and did u do a video on the painting technique anyway bravo this is a awesome project
Jason Noyes Thanks Jason! It was fun to build. Actually yes, there is a whole lot more to the build in the ‘16 year of Road to October series I did. I think it was around episode 8 when I started building it.
Love it. Must be nice to have the money, time and energy to make this.
Do you have a copy of the video for sale? I would love to include it in my elevator this year.
Looks bad ass bro !!!! Seen Logan last night at HHN . Haunt on my brother .
I want to build one! I'll have two doors so you go out to a different area as if you have actually gone down underground.
Hi, great idea. I wanna do this for this year Halloween. But where can i download the Film File for the Screen ?
Here you go. Good luck!

@@GravesOfTheGroves Great !! 🙂 THX
This is so cool!!! Where did you get the valves! I can’t find them anywhere, lol... also... it’s a bit much to ask, but could you possibly do some kind of wiring video, that shows how you wired everything. It’s ok if you can’t, just wondering... this really is one of a kind!!! Thank you for your time!!!
Great job on ur elevator! Can you provide me the diagrams and Construction’. I would consider buying the video of the brick wall also if you’re not using your parts anymore I would buy those too.
Amazing
Where in the name of God did you get the prop board... Also!!! This was really helpful, I’ve been meaning to build something like this for my haunt!!! Thank you!
So sadly Terror Tech is no longer. The next best setup is the Boobox Flex with 8 channels and then a Sprite media player for the video. Make it happen captain!
Graves Of The Groves thank you so much!!! Will do brother!
We want to say thank you for an amazing tutorial video! This has helped us so much in our build this year. The only thing that we are struggling with is the brick wall/zombie video. I am having a time with my editor. I was wondering if you would be willing to put together something similar (Old brick wall and zombies) to use at our haunt. We will gladly pay you for it. Thanks again for a great video. It has been VERY helpful.
Yo! PM me your email address and I can send you a link to my Dropbox file that has the original video to download . I don’t have extra time to make a new video right now but I can share that one with you.
@@GravesOfTheGroves hallo i needit tow ^^ can you Sand me the viedo??
@@GravesOfTheGroves Can I get also the link to download your video. My built is almost finished. Lots of work and tears. But, are on track. Thanks
By far your best prop ever!!! Just incredible!!! Just where do you store it in the off season?
Thanks! I have no idea where to put it! LOL Actually I store it all at my work
Love the build! A couple questions, and I know this was posted 5 years ago, so I won't be crushed if you don't get a chance to respond, haha:
1. I love the peeling paint effect around the rust, did you use a specific technique to achieve it? With the flaps of paint kind of just hanging off; I have heard of using elmer's glue and peeling semi-cured paint off, but wasn't sure!
2. Where did you get the Terror Tech board again? I did some searching and unfortunately it looks like they may not exist anymore? If not, no worries, FrightProps is an old standby, but was excited about the capabilities for sure!
Thanks again for sharing this awesome project!
Hey Aaron! Yeah it’s been a few years. That year I did a whole road to October series where I built that whole thing. But as far as the paint, base color, vaseline where you want it to peel then regular latex paint. Once it dries it peels right off.
Yes the terror tech board is no longer sadly. Your right, the Boo Box I think it’s called is the best substitute with a Sprite media player for the video out. Good luck!
@@GravesOfTheGroves That vaseline trick I'll have to give a try, thanks so much for the tip! I think we've all got 50 ways to do rust, haha, it's all in the deciding of which one goes nicely where 😅!
Stinks about the TerrorTech boards, but I'm definitely always on the hunt, I'll keep my ear to the ground!
This is awesome, and makes me feel dumb for even considering an elevator this year. However, with that said, might you have a link to the roller latch that you used? I can't find anything that looks like that, but need something similar for my elevator door. Thanks!
I'm fortunate that I work in the door hardware industry so I have access to this type of stuff but here is a link to one on eBay. Its an Ives RL38 www.ebay.com/itm/like/401130264680?lpid=82&chn=ps&ul_noapp=true
Nice, thank you!! And great work again, this is going to be a huge hit!
Hope so! Just keep working till November! lol
Would you build one that I could purchase?
How did you make the video? I am familiar with the zombie one, but the video that makes it look like it is going down is really cool.
Callan Rustad I took an image from Google images of a brick wall and put it into Sony Vegas and put it on a loop. Also used the velocity effect to speed up and slow down the loop.
Crazy
Love it
Where did you get your prop controller? It looks like their website is down/gone.
Jesse York WHOA!! You're right. Hopefully it's just temporary? They are still on Facebook but the link to the shop doesn't work either.
Graves Of The Groves Too bad it's still down. Do you know any product like this, with a HDMI output?
Rein yeah we did some digging. They are out of the controller biz. Fright Props is the only other one that I know that has a triggerable video player
Awesome elevator, do you still use it ,is it for sale or would you consider putting it in a fun center do a rev share ,would like to talk more
Tony Dunn Hey Tony, this one found a home shortly after the 2016 season. If you’re interested in one you can get a hold of me at rottenprops@gmail.com
I know I’m really bugging you about this, but I just want to be right... could you possibly compile a list that I would need to make this prop? I don’t need anything like decor, but the electronics are kinda getting to me, and I’m just the slightest bit confused on what to buy. If you can’t, that’s all good... it was just a thought!!!☺️
This is insane!!!
Hey! I've watched this video about 1,000 times now - so thanks for showing us all your work. :D It will be very helpful this season as I am making one of these. My biggest question I couldn't find an answer to in the vlogs is, how did you mount your wall panels to the platform? Is it just bolted down with lugs? Thanks again!
Can you make the air bags deflate and inflate faster?
Yes, I used 3/8" airlines and solenoids. The bigger the diameter lines the faster it can move.
@@GravesOfTheGroves I stumbled across your video of the elevator it's awesome ..... You got us thinking of building one here at our place is there any possible way you can send me info list of what I'd need to build one such as where I can get stuff as I. The electronics parts that I'd need ....... keithgantner72@gmail.com thanks
Lol love the song
hey where would you say the cheapest place i can get the airbags is?
I got mine off of eBay.
Where did you buy your airbags?
I got mine off eBay. Search for 2600 air suspension air bags
can you talk about you rusting techniques please?!
How much it cost to build one
Do you have a parts list for the tech part of your elevator?
Love this !! Kevin
that was awsome
Awesome!!!!!
Why would you not put links to where you can get the stuff you used ie controller, valves etc? Why???
Tim D Because most of those items were bought off eBay or Amazon so those links wouldn’t be valid after a few months. The Terror Tech controller is not being made anymore =/
@@GravesOfTheGroves Do you have a recommendation on a replacement for the terror tech controller?
Can I buy a manual how to make it?
Lit
Where did you get the video for the elevator motion?
Laura Fulton I made it using a brick wall image off Google images then looped the image in Sony Vegas to make it look like a continuous motion.
Thanks!
8:46 :D
Would you happen to have the video you used for the elevator? And would you be willing to share it?
Josph Liercke I might still have it. Let me look on my computer when I get in front of it
Graves Of The Groves that would be amazing. I’m building a hellevator based on your design! Great job by the way!! Your work is amazing.
@@josphliercke2049 I found it, what is your email address and I can send you a link to download. Or you can DM me if you prefer.
Very nice and great expalanation ^v^
How much would you estimate for the entire cost of this elevator?
Ryan Couch I probably had around $1200 in it. But there were a lot of things like all the wood and monitor that I had on hand already.
I would think your air system and servos were the highest cost?
I'd say the controller would be the biggest item. Since TerrorTech is no longer you would have to use something like a BooBox Flex with a Sprite media player. The air system isn't bad at all. I bought the bags and valves off eBay. Four bags was around $150 and the valves are about $20 each. All the fittings and hoses I get from AutomationDirect.com
turned out Freakin Great nice work !!! HFL!!
quick question. love everything your doing... instead of the black plastic , what is the black material everyone is using now called?
Not sure? I've only known of the black roofing sheeting that I think you are talking about.
Hello again. I love the concept of the airbags on a prop like this. Do you have any more videos that talk about this concept, or can you point me in the right direction where I may learn more? Thanks!
I'm subscribed now and I look forward to seeing more of your videos.
Well, about the only thing I have is the RTO series I did while building the whole thing which started episode 8 of 2016. Other than that the only thing I can suggest is searching air ride suspension which is basically what I used to build the elevator off of. Here is the starting point of the elevator. Good luck! ua-cam.com/video/-ZaAmbC72Ao/v-deo.html
wow
What are the dimensions of the elevator?
Going from memory I think it was 60x60x90
🙏🏾🙏🏾🙏🏾
Can i buy it?
Sold it to haunt after the 2016 season.
You said baby gate twice
Can I buy 1
gibzac 1 what kind of 8year old would want a haunted elevator that probably costs 5,000 dollars or more
_ItsIsaac how do u know how much I make I get $450 per 1 websites made
_ItsIsaac and I'm not 8 lol
Richard Cheese!
You haven't answered ANY questions....haha
Hey Graves, sent you an email! :)
You know I don't like to compliment anything, but this is one damn good build! Your choice of opening music sucked ass though, and I still don't understand why you have a drawing of a penis as phone's home screen picture (3:56). Otherwise great job. Where the hell you're going to store it is another matter.
Thanks Rich. My music is awesome. Same with my penis home screen.
